Place: At the temples
Time: Late night
Surroundings: Few priests and followers
Weather: It's rather cold.

Order (After me):
@Cain
@Jasper
@Connor

The instructions seemed a little unclear to the young seraph. He was supposed to come to the temples to help with the inspection of... well the text didnt really specify, so he had to find out by showing up. Connor got on his bike and set off to the temples. It would be a while before he'd finally get there.

In the meantime close at the temples. There Ivory stood with the daemon and a clergy, trying her best to explain what she had seen when Jasper first introduced the wound. "Our main suspicion is that the dark patch forms after contracting the unholy energy by touching one of the.... shadows," she explained, the clergy nodding and looking at the wound before straightening his back and excusing himself. He went to the temple of Justiae, where a couple of other clergies were waiting for what he had to say. He cleared his throat, and drew in a deep breath. "This unbalance is greater than we first anticipated. Touching the possessors doesnt just harm non-daemons, the amount of unholy energy is enough that even daemons contract some sort of bodily reaction, making their skin rot away," he announced, most of the council frowning in deep contemplation, though a few didnt seem to need much thinking. "Take whoever you need. The more we get to inspect this... affected daemon, the better," one of the elder priestess' spoke, her eyes covered by a cloth bound around her head. "Thank you, high priestess," he answered with a nod. And so were most of the clergies that spend time at the temple called in to be briefed before they would be sent out to the seraph and daemon.

Ivory was tripping a little on her feet, looking at the temples before she looked at the daemon. "It doesnt hurt right?" she asked, though from the looks of it, she hadnt expected it not to. It looked far more painful than any wound she had ever seen. And she had seen quite a few in her time.

His phone woke him up after just a few hours of sleep but hearing what the call was about woke him up pretty well. "Yeah.. on my way" It had been a long time since the last time he was called in to the ancient temples for anything serious, and by the sound of the call it was very serious, all he got from it was that it had to do with the strange events taking place all over, the rest he would learn when he got there. Cain didn't own any means of transport so he would have to rely on someone else to get him there. He ordered a cab and made some quick coffee on the go, then grabbed his coat and went outside as the cab arrived, he told the driver to head towards the ancient temples in Raleska. The mystery that had been plaguing this place was something they had known about for a while now but never anything concrete, at least nothing he had been told, so finally getting more information was something he was very interested in. So far he had only been observing strange behavior and auras in people that had something wrong about them, he had yet to interact with any of them out of fear of making it worse, he had no idea if it would somehow hurt the people affect or if they would change behavior like a cornered animal lashing out.
When he arrived there were many of his kind there, more than usual, if they called in that many then something must have happened that was important enough to inform everyone as fast as possible, could they finally act on the situation? He was one of the last ones to arrive and didn't wait long until a clergy started speaking out loud to everyone, briefing them on what had happened. His concern got greater as he learned about the person affected but it subsided later on when he learned it was a daemon, however, it made it all that more serious if even daemons were not safe from whatever it was. If they could also be affected by whatever this was then it would most likely rule them out as the ones who caused it, leaving even more questions for him. The meeting was brief and didn't tell him too much about the situation other than it was more dangerous than he first thought.

As he approached the seraph and the daemon he easily distinguished them from one another and nodded firmly to the seraph "Morning.." Then turned his gaze to the daemon, looking him up and down, not really knowing what to expect other than the wound that he was briefed on. He narrowed his eyes when looking at his wound, it looked really bad but more than that it was not like anything he had witnessed before, it seemed to him that the wound was caused by something more than anything physical would do, attesting to what he had been told in the briefing right before. He realized it had to be painful for the daemon with a wound like that, but his dislike for his kind stopped him from offering help with numbing it. He promised himself in honor of someone to keep his biases towards daemons to himself and always make sure it would never interfere with his duties, but that didn't mean he had to go out of his way to make the guy comfortable either. Even if he wanted to help, would it be safe to touch him? "So what happened? I was only told about the effects of.. this, but what did this, and why? Don't leave out any details" He said with a serious tone, very intrigued about the whole situation, hoping it would shed light on everything going on.

Jasper honestly didn't know what to think of it all, feeling a bit of a hostage under this seraph. The many clergy watching him, he felt like an animal in an exhibition. He could feel their judging eyes. They knew. He could just feel it. They knew he was an Aelius, and that it was his kind who had unleashed these evil spirits.
Blinking a few times it was as if he didn't quite react as the seraph spoke to him, frowning as he looked at her. Confused clearly, because no-one had ever really asked him such a question. He was in a lot of pain, but his upbringing meant that he was good at hiding it. "It's alright," he just replied, though his eyes would always give him away. His dark pupils filled with pain, but a smile was plastered on his lips. Why did he care to hide his pain now? Perhaps because he was surrounded, and the thought of being a wounded animal with enemies all around made him be less honest.
Truth was it felt like his insides were burning, like this unholy power was changing him on a deep level. It wasn't really something he wanted to think about, because it could spiral him into insanity. He already felt guilty for betraying his own family, he was practically an outlaw by now. He could be killed on sight with no repercussions for the killer, because he was simply a pest at this point. He wondered if his siblings would even care, but he didn't like to think about it. He had always been the sensitive one. The one that ran from his responsibilities, so perhaps they just saw him as a burden that would be removed.

As a clergy approached them he felt like they would just take a quick glance and then be off like the rest. However this clergy was clearly interested in knowing more. Jasper's dark eyes moved up, being met by sky blue and a handsome face. He felt a little taken aback, frowning as he looked at his darkened skin, looking much like a rotting mess.
"I was out in Southern by the graveyard," he spoke, but clearly uncertain in his voice. Maybe he sounded like he was lying, but honestly it was just how he sounded when being interrogated. "My brother wanted me to see how the shadows were acting, they have been drawn to what they know, which is death; So the graveyard is currently where they linger the most," it was clear his memory was a bit hazy, but alas he tried his best to retell the story.
"I don't remember much besides cold, like the kind of cold that chills you to the bone, and then I woke up huddled up near a mausoleum," he explained.
He shook his head, pointing at the dark skin. "It started out looking like someone had grabbed me, like handprints ... But then the darkness started spreading and no daemon would really listen to me," maybe that was his own fault. He was not really respected as far as Aelius' went.

"You're a very bad liar," she simply said, before rummaging through her bag to see if she had anything. Sadly it hadnt exactly been laid out that she would be attending wounds, so what she had was very limited. A band aid probably wouldnt soothe any pain. A clergy approached them and she looked up with a small smile spreading on her lips. "I'm guessing we can all wave goodbye to our beauty sleep for the rest of the night," she remarked, due to the circumstances, it wasnt sure to know when sleep would be available again.
She stepped back while Jasper explained what had happened, grabbing her phone to call Connor and hear where he was at. It felt a little weird being out on her own like this, she was rather young and only a skilled healer, nothing more or less. Afterwards she sent a text to Xander, saying that the clergies are looking into it.
With a sigh, she returned to the two, frowning a little at Jasper's last words. So it had been a touch? Well, quite obviously so, but she was wondering about the motives for the shadow to reach out. Were they somewhat mentally functional? Or were they all just mindless shells, roaming the streets with no known purpose?
Then she looked at the clergy, realizing she was withholding information herself. "We were just attending a joint daemon and seraphim meeting. Turns out that these rifts were caused by a daemon in direct bloodline with the god Bael, under the instructions of the Aelius bloodline," she summarized, just to add to it. She left out her opinion on it, though she clearly didnt seem to think anything of daemons at all. "So far, the hope is that the summoner can undo what he did and close the portals to... whatever is opened," she said, unsure where the portals actually led to.

The way that the other clergies acted, it felt like he was late to the party, as if they were all privy to something he missed entirely. But if that was the case then there must have been a reason for it surely, regardless it was not for him to question anything the higher up clergies and priestesses had decided so he left the thought and focused on what was in front of him. His hands was deep in his coat pockets as he kept looking in to the daemons eyes as he spoke. He had no reason to lie did he? You never knew with daemons, he didn't seem to have been forced to be there so why would he come here to lie? To Cain the appearedseemed to be genuine, but something was off about him besides the obvious affliction. "Hmm.." The story seemed to make sense for what it was, but where it answered his question partly, it opened up even more questions from it. What were these shadows and why did they seem so familiar so something he had heard before. He also mentioned his brother, so did that mean that the daemons were behind this after all?
He moved his hands out of this pockets and just as he opened his mouth to line up questions for the daemon, the seraph spoke up and got his attention. As soon as he heard the seraph mention Bael and the connection his face become pale and he frowned darting his eyes about, he had heard of that name before and was trying to remember it. Then a few seconds later he froze in spot and his face had a slight awe expression on it. For a while he had kept thoughts on daemon lore and news to a minimum, trying to avoid sparking negative memories, but after talking to them something came back to him. When he was in the company of an old daemon in Paesan, he educated him on his kind, and in that there was mention of a bloodline of summoners, lead by an Aelius, a Simon? No it was Simeon Aelius. This was more complicated than he first imagined, the allegiance of daemons was a hard thing to figure out, as they all seemed to do whatever they wanted. The seraph mention a bloodline connection, so that wasn't enough proof that Bael himself was behind this, even though he would never be opposed to any aggression to other races. "Does that mean they are trying to incite another war?.." he asked himself under his breath. To him this didn't seem aggressive enough of a move to warrant a war, but that was way over his head anyway, there was just something he had a bad feeling about, like there was a lot to whatever was going on. He was not too worried if the rifts could be closed, he believed anything that was done could be undone, but the summoners being the helping hand however was something he could not imagine, especially if Bael was part of it, defying him would never be an option no matter how great the threat. Then he recalled the daemon mention brother with the shadow and quickly looked back at him, looking him over for any markings. "What's your name?.. Your full name?" Wondering if his suspicions about him were right.

Quite frankly the daemon felt like a fish out of water, or what was the saying? Just thinking about the right words to say made his head hurt, but it was always like that for him. His family called him stupid, a coward and while they claimed it was all in good fun, it had to come from somewhere. He looked at the seraph that had accompanied him there, but it was clear he didn't know how to interact with her. According to his own nature, he was supposed to hate her, but he just couldn't figure out why. She hadn't done anything. Perhaps it was the fact that he was a cambion that he couldn't see the meaning in all the hatred, but alas he had very little time to wrap his tiny brain around it before the clergy in front on him asked him his name.
Swallowing hard he took a step backwards, hiding his darkened mark like a wounded animal. "Why does that matter?" he asked with a shaky breath, stumbling a bit as he was feeling more lightheaded. What were they going to do when they found out? He was shaking a bit, clearly scared as his pupils dilated. Gritting his teeth he tried straightening his back, but his skinny body just looked hunched no matter what. He looked from the seraph to the clergy, clearly fearful but more so scared of what it meant. He knew he was an Aelius, he could not run from it, but damned his family name how he wished he could just be a normal person. "I've not come here to be judged for my past," he said in a shaky voice, his eyes constantly moving as he couldn't decide whether to run or to stay.

It felt like a delicate matter because Ivory didnt know the full story nor would she claim to. When the clergy asked himself of the intentions of the portals in a mumble. "I think that is only something the Aeliuses will know for sure," she said to answer the clergy's wondering. But if the cambion was right and they were trying to bring back Simeon Aelius, it surely couldnt go well. One thing was the fact that daemons were banished to their own sort of hell when they died, another was the fact that no one had come back from it before. She drifted off in her thoughts just as the clergy started speaking to the cambion, in which he seemed to react as if there had been slung an accusation towards him. "Hey!" she called in a calm but firm tone, looking at the cambion as she carefully reached out to place a hand on his shoulder. "The past doesnt matter right now if there will be no future," she said, looking at the clergy with, it wouldnt be scolding eyes but there definitely were some sort of warning to them. They couldnt loose the cambion before they had found out what was happening to his arm and if it would happen to others as well.
"I'm heree!" a voice yelled as a blonde curly haired guy came running, panting for air. Ivory's face lit up in a smile as she looked at him. "Glad to see you could make it Connor," she said, Connor nodding as he stopped not far from them and took a moment to draw in a deep breath. He was a bookworm after all, not a runner. "Connor Elior, I'm representing Leona Elior of the seraphim," he said quite formally in a hasty voice, scrunching his face a little in exhaustion from running. He moved closer and cleared his throat, nodding to the two men before he looked at the arm, frowning a little in confusion and a little bit of disgust. "Is that from the creatures?" he asked, looking at Jasper for confirmation. He sighed and looked at Ivory. "We need daemon knowledge to figure out what it could be. Surely there must be a scroll somewhere with something useful," he said before he looked at Cain. "Would the clergies have such a scroll?" he asked. He then turned his eyes to Jasper's arm, narrowing his eyes like something was coming to mind but he shook it out of his head.

When the daemon pull away, it was all the confirmation he needed, the only reason he would be afraid to answer him was if it was true, so he wasn't going to push him on confirming it, admitting it didn't matter any more. He was not like most other daemons he had met, this one was afraid, not proud of himself. Did that mean he did not agree with what his family was doing? Is that why he was attacked by that thing? By his brother? He noticed the seraph's defensive stance over the daemon, seeing her seriousness in her eyes, piercing into his own. As much as he respected the seraph and her kind, it was in her nature to be kind, where the daemons lacked empathy, care for others, the seraphim had too much of it, made them naive. He didn't reply to her and returned his hard gaze to the daemon, with less care for his wound now that he knew who he was, or who he figured he was. "Why does it matter?! Are you joking? If you are part of them then you are more than a victim to this creature, you are a witness. If what she says is true then it was your family that did this" He spoke in a stern voice but he kept his volume down, he wasn't screaming. "Even IF you aren't a part of this, there is no way you don't know anything." He was pretty sure the daemon wasn't a part creating the rifts, at least not willingly, why else would he get attacked by them, and why did he come here for help and not to his family? Even so, putting pressure on him would probably incentivize him to cooperate with them and help undo the damage caused by his family.
"Its not my job to judge you, not in this life anyway. I don't care what you did or didn't do, all i care about is what you can do now" Just as he finishes he hears someone approaching them and looks up at him, it was hard to not notice the bright aura he had, he was a pureblood, no doubt about it. Cain might not have been up to date on the daemon families but he knew of the seraphim bloodline and as seraph mention his full name, Cain was taken aback, they were serious about this investigation after all, when he met the young one earlier he wasn't sure they cared all that much, sending someone that young and seemingly inexperienced. "Cain" He said and respectfully nodded back to him, keeping his eyes fixated on the man as he interacted with the daemon. "I'm sure we do.. but with all due respect Connor, I'd say the best source of information is right here" He said looking the daemon up and down. "I can of course take a look in our library for something, but I'm afraid you have to be more specific on what exactly you want, as there is a lot of books and scrolls on daemons." He said with a vague hint of confusion. Was he really going to just ignore the daemon they had there? He expected that from the young seraph but not from the pureblood, and not from the Elinor family.

Jasper felt his whole body tense, but it was clear he wasn't going to cooperate if the clergy kept showing his own prejudice like this. He felt like he was a kid, being scolded simply for existing at this point, and he could do nothing but just take it. Because wasn't the clergy right? Wasn't he just complicit in all of this? Had he done something if anything to stop this from happening? No. He had sat silent and done nothing but be an accomplish to his wicked sister's ideas. He felt a sharp pain shoot through his arm, and his gaze moved down to see the darkness spread as the other seraph joined them. He was silent, not knowing what to say or do. He felt lost, but he was to afraid to admit that, because the clergy surely already knew where he stood in all of this. Jasper could die, and it would mean nothing.
The other seraph that joined them introduced themselves as Connor, and Jasper looked carefully at the blonde haired guy as he let him inspect his arm also. At this point the daemon felt like nothing more than a caged animal. Sure, he could leave right now, but wouldn't just prove them right in every assumption people had about daemons? The clergy and seraph started talking about things to read, and he really wanted to say something, but it was hard when he could feel the anger come out of the clergy. Even if he was acting calm, it was clear to see the fury beneath it. "Infernal," he suddenly muttered, but he didn't know if they even heard him. The pain in his arm had subsided for now, but he knew it would come back, just as sure as the blackness would spread under his skin. "I can read infernal, the ancient language of daemons ... If that is of any help?" he said, looking from Connor to Cain and then to the floor. His eyes were watery, clearly showing how much pain he had been in, but he didn't dare say it out loud.
"My sister has been obsessed with the infernal language since Simeon died, but I don't know if you have any writings of that sort here," he said, by Bael he felt weak. He had to take a step back, leaning against a chair as he seemed to struggle to even breathe. Standing there for a while he gathered himself, looking up with his eyes flickering. "I don't think I have much time ... It's spreading inside me now," he confessed.

Connor knew he probably wasnt as well known as his mother and maybe it would have been better if she had gone personally, but he knew that she wasnt staying out for just any reason. He looked at the arm while his mind went miles with loose thoughts. This was a mess and Connor hasnt exactly been in the headspace to collect his knowledge and thoughts. "You're not wrong Cain, but dont misjudge the weight a good scroll can have. After all, dont you think at least a good hundred other daemons have tried this? The ones who actually made it work might have the knowledge we're looking for," he explained as he shortly looked at Jasper like he was trying to figure out whether he knew if that assumption was true.
He sighed as Jasper went on to explain his sister's obsession and it was then he knew that his assumption was rightfully so. She had been studying the old scrolls and found meaning that others hadnt been able to. He looked at Cain before he looked at Ivory and made a deep sigh. His gut didnt have a good feeling about all this but he wasnt sure how to formulate it into something that made sense either. "Well I dont really know what to tell you. We dont really know how to stop the spread with medicine. Our best guess is to amputate your arm at healthy tissue and hope for the best," he said with a worried expression on his brow because he didnt know what else to say. This stuff was made to kill angels, no seraph or clergy could make a remedy that would stop the infection.

The seraph made a good argument, if anyone had made any progress or special findings, they most likely would write them down somewhere for future use. "You're right of course" But even if that was the case Cain was not done with the daemon, he might have been unaware and not involved in this whole ordeal, but he was definitely holding something back, he was sure of it, interrogation and being in his face was just not the way to get it. His eyes and thoughts drifted off into the distance as he tried to think of any literature that he has read that could help with the situation but nothing stuck out to him. His eyes darted back to the daemon as he mumbled something incoherently. "I'm sorry?" he said as he tilted his head towards him, waiting for him to repeat it. Infernal, that was something he hadn't heard of in a while, he had met people that knew it before, but it was a long time since the last time he invested any time into daemon lore or culture. "That.. does actually help" He reluctantly admitted, thinking back to the library only to be snapped out of it too soon by something the daemon said. Simeon was dead? He really was out of the loop when it came to the daemon kind. "Wait, so if Simeon is dead.. Is your sister in charge? or your brother?" He was confused because he knew next to nothing about them, he had only heard of Simeon from a long time ago, the rest he had learned from this daemon, he had a brother and a sister, meaning there was at least 3 left in the family.  He had a lot of questions but he recognized that now was not the time for them. He started feeling worse for the guy as he could see all the pain he was in, not just visually but he could sense it, it was radiating from him. He knew that personally all he could do was numb the pain, but it wouldn't actually help with the problem, and he knew his time was better spent finding something that could potentially help.

When Connor mentioned amputation it sent some dread through him, if even the pureblood didn't think his own powers would help, there was little hope for the daemon. The thought of mutilating him didn't sit right with him, even if he didn't like his kind, a wounded creature was a wounded creature, which sounded really hypocritical to him as he came to them with a serious condition in the first place. It was probably the vivid image of taking his arm that put it in a different perspective. "You sure there is nothing you can do?" he looked behind him for a quick moment as he thought about the scrolls Connor mentioned and the infernal language Jasper said he could read. "Do whatever you can here to slow it down and i will quickly run and see if i can find something, i won't be long" He said quickly and took off into the inner sanctum of the temple, swiftly walking past several of his fellow clergy that seemed to be busier than usual, probably with similar cases. When he finally reached the place one could call a grand library, he rapidly scanned through the different sections to find the writings on daemons and their dealings. Finding a specific book however was harder than it should have been, the sections themselves not being as organized as he would have liked. He skimmed through books and scrolls alike until he found two scrolls that he couldn't understand, both old and torn, one missing a small part and the other missing almost all of it. "This better be it" he said under his breath. Besides being very rough he had no idea what they were about, but seeing as nothing else he could find in a hurry seemed relevant he grabbed them both and stormed out quicker than he came in, making his way back to them.

Jasper's eyes flashed with panic. "Oh, yeah, sure, just cut my arm off, I'm only a daemon, right?" he said in a mixture of fear and sarcasm. He had actually thought that this seraphim family was different. That they would do anything to save the world. But it apparently didn't include a daemon surviving. Jasper knew he wasn't strong enough, not like his sister who had gladly offered her arm to the Abyssus. No, he was the weakling of the family, so he was not going to pretend like the thought didn't bother him. This time however it was the clergy taking his side; Did this guy just pick and choose his side as the wind blew? Blinking a few times rather baffled, he watched as the clergy went running.
Then it was just him and the two seraphs. He had a feeling he could trust Ivory, she seemed to at least care for his well being on some surface level - plus she was young, so she maybe didn't have as many bad run-ins with daemons. However Connor was hard to read. He looked like a comic book nerd, but the one that was capable of doing whatever it took. Kind of scary in a way. "Listen, I'm not getting my arm chopped off just because your kind don't want to help, alright - I'd rather die of this infection," he said honestly. Then a thought struck him. Or rather the thought of someone that might be able to help. However if he could just survive being here for a little while, maybe it wouldn't be too late in the end.
There was a sort of awkwardness as the daemon clung to the chair, trying to ignore the two seraphim and the bright aura they had. Being a cambion meant that he wasn't too bothered, but his upbringing had made him more aware of those light beings. Jasper saw himself as a pacifist - at least most of the times - seeing as he wasn't the one scheming, and he was always somehow dragged in to his siblings' mess. He finally caved in, sitting down in the chair with a faint sigh leaving his lips, sweat having accumulated on his forehead. He felt damp, warm even, like a fever he had never felt before.

Soon enough the clergy returned with two scrolls, and Jasper took them, placing them on a small table next to the chair. He was pretty good at the daemonic language to begin with, he was probably the most fluent speaker among his siblings. Taking a deep breath he skimmed over the short text first, frowning as he handed it back to the clergy. "I doubt that this scroll will help," he murmured, his voice a bit slurred, but that was to be expected when he was this far along with the sickness spreading. If any of them would give him a questioning look, he raised an eyebrow, "it's basically just a love letter to Bael where a daemon proclaims his devotion," he explained. It wouldn't really help, or at least it had no real value for Jasper.
The other scroll however caught his interest, frowning as he read the lines that started the scroll. "This, this might be it, chief," he mumbled, frowning as the infernal was much older than he had expected. It didn't matter much in regards to understanding it, but it would basically be like a human reading Old English; It just sounded strange.
"Capy i virclyww, weryiv zmuly julyw vorv dyijy zmuw sardv razzulq. Brulq kitc zmy vyiv, zmy dahid wyrjilzw ao biyd, sma oifqmz ul muw malar. Bdaav wmidd ky zmy cyh," he spoke out, frowning as he felt a shiver run through his body. Was this what his sister's plan was? He took a deep breath before translating it to something the others could understand. "I'm sorry, uhm, it says: Come o darkness, spread thine vines and leave this world rotting. Bring back the dead, the loyal servants of Bael, who faught in his honor. Blood shall be the key," he said before looking at the seraphim present and then the clergy. "Blood shall be the key; My sister sacrificed her arm to the Abyssus," he said, gulping as he turned his eyes back to the scroll.

The clergy's mistrust made Connor's expression harden a little because he wasnt exactly saying it to be rude or mean. Even if the guy was a daemon, Connor wasnt going to get opinionated in this matter. The facts were that whatever was infecting the daemon was out of seraphim hands to heal. "You being a daemon is irrelevant to the situation," he just said sourly, looking at the arm once more. The clergy went off and left them alone, Connor just looked to Ivory before he pulled out his phone and checked for updates. Hearing the daemon speak was just as if Amos had appeared out of nowhere and wanted to say his piece. Was it just a thing for daemons to be this full of mistrust? Well, it was the same way for Connor towards the daemons, but he hadnt realized that. "I wouldnt have suggested something if I didnt find it necessary. Think it through. Do you really think Verity has made anything that would help a daemon?" he asked to let the cambion think for himself. Ivory sighed and shook her head. "Connor dont be so harsh," she said in a kinder voice, to then look at Jasper with conflicted eyes. "Let's hope the clergy can dig up something," she said as she looked towards the exit that the clergy had went through.

Ivory went and came back with a cold damp cloth that she placed on the table for the cambion to take if he wanted. The clergy returned and the scrolls were read. Connor crossed his arms and listened with a frown over his brow, Ivory just carefully sat down and folded her hands. The first scroll was pointless, but as he got to the second one, Connor just sighed and shook his head. "Okay, so your sister gave her arm to make all this happen. But how is that going to help us figure out how to heal your arm?" Connor asked with a more stern voice. This was something that the people gathered back at Donham Grove should be getting into. Ivory pondered over it all, leaning back as she drew in a deep breath. "Blood is the key," she mumbled, lifting her hands to rub her temples. "So if we look at the infection as something in the blood. To get the toxins out of the system, you would need new blood?" she asked, looking at the others for their input. "But it would have to be pure blood. Like a seraph's, because that is the only thing that counters well.... Whatever hell it is that came from the Abyssus," she said, frowning a little as she touched the edge of the table. Connor looked at her with a confused expression. "Ivory-" - "We dont have time to not act," she said in a more serious tone, looking at Cain as she knew Connor wouldnt be offering his help with whatever madness he believed she was going to attempt. "I know how to do a blood transfusion, but I cant do it myself," she said. "This is suicidal!" Connor mumbled in anger, shaking his head. "Does the temple of Justiae have the necessary tools for this?" she just asked, ignoring Connor completely.

He noticed how quick the daemon was to grab the scrolls from him, though he would not mention or show it to avoid wasting more of the little time they had, the ever corrupting wound he had was also a good excuse to forget about formalities. Watching his face and the quick darting of his eyes, it was clear that he didn't have trouble reading the content of the scroll on the table, building more confidence on him being useful in this investigation, and in the future if he survived. He frowned a bit as he grabbed the smaller scroll and carefully rolled it up again, placing it safely in the inner pocket of his coat and before he could ask what it was about, the daemon already started explaining. With his tone and the little care he seemed to have for the scroll made him think he wasn't lying about it. "Mhmm, if you say so" That said, Cain still thought there could be value to it, by the description they got, it sounded like something of a fanatic or a zealot of Bael. If Jasper didn't see a connection to this instance then maybe it would provide information to something else, fanatics rarely remained passive. He often overanalysed information he was given, especially on important matter but in his mind there didn't exist information that was totally useless, regardless, he put it behind him for another time and focused back on task at hand, paying close attention to the reading of the bigger scroll. He perked up a bit when the daemon mentioned he thought it could be valuable, and as he listened to the him say the infernal words out loud he was surprised to find that he recognized it, he had heard it before from someone he used to know. However, he didn't understand a single word of what jasper was saying, just noticing how his demeanour changed after finishing it.

"What..?" He gasped quietly as his eyes widened and he felt a chill rush down his spine when the daemon read out the translation for them, revealing the scrolls content, and possibly what the summoners plan was. What the scroll said wasn't the worrying part to Cain, it was pretty much common knowledge that daemons were cast into realm of torture when they died, and that Bael himself could bring some of them back if he wished to. What was news to him was the fact that the daemons themselves could bargain to bring them back in exchange for a sacrifice. But if Bael intended to get more involved then the other gods would surely intercept like before right? If he just brought them back and left it to his creations then there would probably be no opposition. Also why would they not come back as before? Were they recreated? Improved or jsut not fully reborn yet? He speculated back and forth to get a better grasp of things, even if he had no real basis on any of them. The daemons eye caught his own and he stopped his train of thoughts, waiting for what he was about to say, and upon hearing it he lowered his shoulders and let out a sigh from the realisation. "So it is done then." The relaxed state was the result from a bittersweet remark out of the daemon, if his sister already sacrificed her arm, that had to mean the ritual had already been done and there was no stopping it, putting the pressure of time to an end. He narrowed his eyes a bit staring ahead at nothing particular, unless it was an ongoing ritual? There were too many questions and variables to the whole situation and it seemed like they had little to go on, but he was still adamant on keeping Jasper alive, he was their most valuable source of information. He knew where he was attacked and where his family would be for starters. "Alright that pretty much settles the who and how, we still need the where as i can probably guess the why.." he ended with a lower voice, thinking.

He had almost forgotten about the daemons arm until Connor brought it up again "Oh right" he said under his breath looking at the daemons arm. Connor was right about that, the information they had found was very useful to the investigation, but they were still clueless on how to fix his arm. The idea brought forth by the young seraph seemed to come out of the left field for Cain, to him that part of the was clearly about the sacrifice requiring blood in some form, evident from the offered arm from the daemon's sister, so for her to suggest it could also imply that it would have something to do with the corruption was insanely risky. If they were going to test that theory then he was happy it would be on a daemon over anything else but still, blood transfusion was a very dangerous procedure. his face turned to surprise when she suggested using a seraph's blood, it was true that it was the opposite of the Abyssus, but countering wasn't necessarily a good thing, that could in itself be pure poison for the daemon. He noticed the desperation in the young seraphs behaviour, and how erratic her aura was, she might have been young and naive, but it was clear that she really cared for the daemon, he admired that considering they were made as opposites. The Pureblood Connor was clearly thinking it through more and was not happy with the suggestion, mimicking his own feelings about it. He was shocked that ivory could perform such a feat, making him look at her with awe but still frowning brows, his eyes flickering back and forth between ivory and Connor's outbursts. But as soon as she asked about the tools in the temple he lost all emption in the face for a second before frowning heavily with a strict face. "You are not doing this in Justiae's temple! This is sacred ground and you will regard it with veneration when you are on it" He said with conviction in a harsh tone. If an elder priestess had said it then he would not question it for a second, but the seraph was an outsider, and had no authority in this place so he would not permit it. "Besides even if we did have those tools in the temple, which I've never seen or heard of.. It's still up to him if he wants to try your reckless procedure." he said more calmly looking at the daemon. "unless you have any other ideas it's either amputation or possible blood poisoning, because by the looks of that arm.. time's running out." Frowning as he looked more closely at the arm, not really coming up with any solutions on his own. His soothing power would not do anything against it, and his power to great holy objects would only hurt him, so any power he could conjure up would be little or no help at all, Ivory would know more about any medical procedure but she was clearly clouded by her emotion and Connor seemed to care little for the daemon as long as he survived, his solution seemed the safest option, morbid as it was.

A Weird Substance Empty
PostSubject: Re: A Weird Substance   A Weird Substance EmptySat 6 Mar 2021 - 17:55

Clashing was bound to happen. Especially when dealing with such a prominent seraphim bloodline. Even his family knew about the Elior's and their fierce valkyries, however it seemed that even this pureblood was as ruthless. He could hear how the young seraph girl, hearing her actually plead with the pureblood made him feel something. What it was he wasn't sure, but it was definitely conflicting with his upbringing. Sitting down seemed to be his best option for now, even if he hated showing his weakness to those around him. He felt cold shivers running down his spine, a pained look in his eyes.
As he had read out the words, he felt like he had gone deaf for a while, caught up in his own thoughts. Was his sister really this deranged? He felt the sweat on his forehead dripping down on his hand, realizing he had his head bowed. Blinking a few times, he felt like his hearing slowly came back as the conversation seemed to turn sour. His gaze snapped away from his lap, looking at the seraph who had just offered up her blood. He was clearly confused, perhaps a little scared that this was a trick but he shook his head before giving the pureblood seraph a slight glare before turning his head to the clergy.
"I don't want us to waste time with trying to cure me," he said, his curls sticking to his sweaty forehead. He grabbed a hold of the arm of the chair, clinging to it for a bit as pain shot through his arm, groaning under his breath for a few seconds until the pain seemed to subside. He could feel himself slipping away piece by piece, but it didn't matter. He was scared, more scared than he had ever been, but that was a given. He had always been a coward and never a fighter. "I mean everyone's gonna have to die sometime, right?" he chuckled softly, shaking his head a little before he moved to his feet.
He had decided now. Life was just an illusion anyways, and he had never been able to find happiness anyways only glimpses of times without loneliness. "If the key is blood, then my sister is now the key ... Because if she opened the portal, then she'll have to close it as well," he said, leaning slightly on the chair still. His gaze went to Connor, and seeing as the pureblood didn't care about the life of a daemon, it was easiest to talk to him. "I can't hurt anyone, not even my crazy sibling, so I'll ask you if your kin would take on that job if it comes to it," his eyes moved on to look at Ivory, sending her a brief flash of a smile. "You're too kind for this word, but I hope you never lose that kindness," he said, looking down before he looked at the clergy.
"There is something about me that might help; If my blood is affected, then subtracting it and maybe isolating the darkness might give you clues as to how you can save others," he said, the corners of his mouth turning slightly downwards before blinking a little lazily. "Not yet though, let it spread for a bit more - In the meantime we might need to seek out some daemons that might be helpful in all of this," it wasn't a secret that while the Aelius line was renowned, it wasn't always the good kind of attention they gathered. They had plenty of enemies, not only that, but they had plenty that didn't wish for Simeon to return. "I might know a few, but if I seek them out they might actually kill me on the spot so..."

PostSubject: Re: A Weird Substance   A Weird Substance EmptyTue 23 Mar 2021 - 21:35

As the clergy seemed to harden at the notion that they would perform any sort of surgery in the temple, Ivory wasnt afraid to stand up to him with a just as hard expression on her face. "A clergy that isnt willing to keep balance in the world? Is it worth not helping the daemon and then find out that once he dies, his corpse will only serve as some sort of pylon to ensure the spread? We cant afford to do nothing!" she reprimanded him, looking at the daemon as he seemed to not what to be saved. It wasnt just a matter of saving one person, but rather not find out that someone infected could cause further spread of whatever dark mass it was that had been unleashed on earth. She then looked to Jasper. "I know that there's no afterlife for you, only horror and hell. I dont want that for you," she admitted in a saddened tone.

Connor just listened to the daemon speak of his sister being the key, because he fully agreed with the clergy either way. This wasnt their temple, so they couldnt just be doing whatever they pleased. However him saying that to her, would probably just make her try and leave with the daemon and take him to the temple of Verity. Only the gods would know what the priestesses at the temple would do if they saw a daemon with an infection that servere. He nodded a few times and kept his arms crossed, thinking it wasnt too unthinkable that the one who had opened the gate had to be the one to close it again.
They had Baal, so now they just needed the sister. But thinking that it would just be that easy, was something a fool would think. Connor at least wasnt even going to amuse the thought of relaxing. He was really not sure that Ivory wasnt just speaking some sort of madness as well. But on the other hand, this situation they had ended up in wasnt exactly of sense either. If her theory was really true, then there was much more danger to these infections than Connor liked to think about. "What daemons are you talking about?" he asked with a interested lift of his brows. He then realized that this was the exact reason why his mother had decided that he had to go along with Ivory. While he mostly focused on the facts, it was her who had humanity in her to see the point in saving a daemon. "And what can we expect from the clergies?" he then asked and looked to Cain
