Dreaming a dream as someone who hates dreams but needs sleep

Aiastes truly struggled in understanding all of this. Was he being insensitive? Was he not understanding the full situation? Well, he couldn't truly, seeing as he was neither a former pregnant woman nor a mortal. His being was not meant to be intertwined with mortals in this regard. And yet he was trying. Maybe he had gotten fed up with the loneliness and the days all blending together. Maybe he felt that when he was around Mari he had a better understanding of humanity and mortality alike. But it seemed that he still lacked severely on different levels. Her blunt reply made him hum and nod. Then there wasn't really anything to discuss, were there? He settled down in a chair close by, urging her to get some rest. The nights would be long, but he promised to be beside her through it all, and he intended on not breaking any more promises to her.
As the days passed it didn't get easier, but Mari's levels were looking stable and her bloodwork came back good. She was allowed to go home, and Aiastes awaited what she wanted. If she wanted to stay for a bit in the hospital - which he highly doubted - they would stay. However if she wanted to go home he would help her pack, being mostly quiet as he wasn't the most talkative guy in the world.
