Finishing Off the Year & Upcoming World Event

General information
With the year of 2020 nearing its end, we thought it would be optimal to do a small round-up of how the year has been, what has happened and unveil some plans for the future. 2020 has for many been a rather turbulent year, ups and downs, a new way of living, but seeing as many use RP as a way of escaping reality, we will refrain from mentioning real life events further. Instead we would like to celebrate what has happened on this site.
First off, November of this year marked the one year anniversary of this sites opening, which is a huge accomplishment on it's own. We want to thank the people that have stopped by and stayed, some gone sooner than others, and celebrate this small community that we are trying to build together.
Secondly this year has also been almost like a trial period, as the site is slowly but surely settling in to itself. And while we still want to add so much to the lore, we are excited to see what people are already doing with the given information. RP for us is after all a moving thing, we all have to add in a little something to set the stories in motion.
And lastly, let us get in to some news!

World event: A Rift in Dimensions

"The world is changing, it's so easy to feel in the air around you, a coldness in certain areas that suddenly cant be explained. Mysterious souls are lurking around the corners, hiding in plain sight, but what are they? They seem like black shadows, withering themselves through the world as if on a hunt. So far little is known about them. One thing can be for sure, they are sinister creations!
From the information that has been given from the police department of Churchill, it seems that these spirits are purely evil of nature, affecting the living leaving them feeling cold to their bones with no actual explanation or origin. The person might even be unaware at first, only experiencing a freezing sensation inside them that cant seem to end. Some people have already felt the coldness, but the feeling is fleeting, so be aware!
Scientists are still trying to gather samples to understand these new creatures, but one thing is for sure, these spirits are not from this plane of existence. A current leading theory is that these creatures are daemonic of nature, being able to possess people temporarily leaving them feeling empty for an unknown period of time.
Another worrisome thing is that an information have been leaked regarding how the clergies have noticed an unbalance in the world, hinting at the fact that it might be more serious than at initially thought. What will happen to the world in the oncoming future?"

That is mostly all that the citizens of Gambion know at this point, but the fact is that a rift has been created this world and another. This is why we are introducing two new dimensions to the world of Kaleidoscope!
- Abyssus: (link) The Abyssus, or perhaps more known as the daemonic realm, is where damned daemon souls go after their final trial. It is also where summoners retrieve their creatures from. The realm itself is covered in mostly darkness, black swirls of spirits and lost souls all around. It is not a place you go for fun, it is a oftentimes a death-wish to enter the realm. But fret not, it is mostly sealed off from the living world, except for the rifts appearing all over Gambion.
- Ethereal Reach: (link) A much more mysterious place than that of Gambion. In olden times, the Ethereal Reach was often referred to through myths and stories. It is a dimension looking like plucked out of a fairytale. Crystals, wildlife and plants are littered all over the world, lit by three suns above, making the ground shine with a full spectrum of colors. Very little is known, and the connection to the rift in the worlds are unknown, but it is suspected that the dimensional walls between Gambion and the Ethereal Reach has always been rather thin, ever since the human appeared from the Earth dimension.

New years resolutions
With that being said, we are looking forward to another year. So what can you expect from us? Well we certainly hope our small community will grow, we are looking to expand the lore even further and that we can't wait to make the site even more inviting. We thought it might be fun to write down our new years resolutions for the site, and go back next year to see if we've accomplished any of our plans. To make it easy, we've made three resolutions:
- 1) We would like to improve visually on this site's aesthetics; that means being more creative with the visuals for each of the races, it would be pretty cool to encapture each race in it's own sort of ground-aesthetic. A few ideas have been put up, but for now the plan is to make individual collages for each race, and eventually extend that to all our guides and rules threads.
- 2) Then there's lore wise, we want to improve the timeline for the site. This means adding more text, more information about each event and add more! If any major changes are made, we will make sure to let you know.
- 3) Lastly we want to keep up our spirits for next year. As mentioned earlier 2020 has been a rough year, but we have hopes that 2021 will prove less challenging and that more creativity is sparked.
