| "Yeah," he breathed out, because he was horribly in love with Vanessa. Only he had no chance in the abyssus to be with her. As they got to the small restaurant he was a little surprised that she wanted to sit in, but hey he was up for it too. Sitting down he placed an elbow on the table, his chin resting in his palm as he looked out at the restaurant. "I'm in the mood for some noodles," he said, his mind clearly elsewhere as he was just staring in to the room. He seemed to snap out of it before he leaned back in his chair, grabbing the menu card and looking at it. "Oooh they got those spring rolls you liked last time," he said, looking at her. Was it strange that he noticed when she liked something? The waiter came over, and Ethan ordered some chow mein and a bottle of beer. Once the order was taken from both of them the waiter nodded, only reappearing to serve them their drinks. "Whatcha thinking 'bout?" he asked, noticing Vanessa seemed a bit lost in her own mind as well. He still felt bad for what happened at the playground.

She glanced towards him as he sat down but she didnt want to sit there and just stare at him. Though that would be quite romantic... for couples, something that they werent. “Egg and wheat,” she remarked with a wrinkle on her nose but she was looking at the fishes. She was hungry enough to just grab one of those big fish and feast, but she knew it wouldnt be acceptable. Though it would probably made Ethan laugh his ass off and there was nothing else she’d rather see now. He mentioned the spring rolls and it made her fold her lips a little excited as she hadnt thought he would remember a thing like that. Maybe she had judged him a little too hard on the playground, but she couldnt possibly believe that there were a bigger meaning to the words he had said. She ordered some fried rice with lightly roasted meaf, just so she wasnt a dead giveaway. For drinks she just wanted some lemon water, since she like the way sour things tasted. She looked back at the fish and he seemed to notice. “Do you remember that time Gareth took us all out on his boat? Where he told us it would be a short trip but before we knew it, we sailed along the coast of France?” She asked, looking back at Ethan.

He could see how hungry she was when looking at the fish, and he wondered if she was actually considering just eating one then and there. Ethan didn't like fish, it always had a weird texture wether it was sushi or cooked salmon. But she seemed to settle on a dish, and he followed her gaze, looking at the fish tank himself now. She mentioned the trip on Gareth's boat, making him chuckle, smiling as his eyes followed a bright orange one in the back. "Yeah, I was scared shitless 'cause I didn't have any fooking passport, but y'all just payed off the costal guard," he chuckled, shaking his head a little. "I think it was the first time I heard Ayalla laugh - that probably scared me more," he said, smiling boyishly as he turned his eyes back on Vanessa. It was also the first time he had felt his heart get moved by her. She hadn't done anything special, and when they had gotten home he had pretended like it had just been because he had lacked someone to warm his bed. However truth was he had gotten to know her quite well. "And Darren got so sunburned, he looked like a crab," he chuckled, placing a hand on his neck, scratching it a bit. His hair was a mess as always, perhaps more than usual, but he didn't really care. The pink in his hair was also fading a lot at this point, but he couldn't even pretend to have money for a re-dye. "I think we should all go travel more ... Together," he said in a thoughtful voice. "I mean, we could force Dare and Aya out on a real date - and G, you and I could mess around town?" he said, although he didn't say what he really wanted to, which was just going out with her.

She chuckled with him as she recalled how mean she was as well, hyping up that if they didnt take the money, all of them would be sent to french jail. She shook her head. “You got a nice tan. A real summer tan,” she remembered, thinking it looked quite well on him though it wasnt that she disliked him as he was. It was just something that fit the summer-mood, like she also liked seeing him wear some oversized homeknit sweater during christmas. She laughed as he spoke of Darren’s burn, shaking her head before sticking her tongue out in a soft gag. “He kept peeling off his skin and throw it at me,” she remembered in a disgusted tone but she chuckled. She definitely wanted to experience something like that again. And it seemed that Ethan felt the same way. She nodded in agreement. “I mean Gareth has his boat. We just have to say when,” she remarked, but it was just about when. Because Gareth’s impulsive France trip hadnt supposed to be that good weatherwise, but it had been all sunny days and warmth. She sighed. “Only thing I didnt like was the small cabins. I mean I got to spoon Ayalla, but I could imagine you and Darren had a swell time,” she teased him with a chuckle. Of course Gareth had a bigger boat, but he had said that they would have realized if he had picked that one instead of the smaller one he chose. “But honestly? If you ever feel like just getting away, all you have to do is say so,” she said, feeling her heartbeat increase at the thought if it was just the two of them going.

"For ya information I am a great cuddle partner," he mocked back pretending to be upset. However the facade quickly softened, giggling a bit as she said that he just had to say the words. Why did that make his heart beat faster. "Just ... Just the two of us?" he asked, frowning as he looked down, playing a bit with a napkin. He should've kept his mouth shut, she had been so upset at the playground and here he was again saying words like this. "Sorry ... I know, I know," he mumbled. He was guessing he was just tired of playing pretend all the time. "Hey, why don't we do sum'fing, all of us this solstice? I mean, none of us really wanna spend time with family anyways, right?" he suggested, the last part more joking, but it was also the truth. "Maybe some stupid skiing resort or like a cabin somewhere?" he thought out loud.

“I bet you snore,” she mocked back before sticking her tongue out at him in a playful way. As she realized what she was suggesting, he asked. She swallowed hard and looked down at her napkin before she shrugged. “I...” she tried but he apologized and she hadnt known what to say anyway. The thought of them just going the two of them made her feel a little out of breath but it seemed like fairytale thinking. He would just get bored of her when it was just the two of them, that’s what she told herself. His suggestion made her smile bright as she nodded. She pulled up her phone and sent a quick text before she looked at him with a happy face, “I will make sure Samuel isnt planning something then. We should do it,” she agreed. Their food arrived and she looked at the waiter, asking if she could get a couple of their spring rolls in a box when they left. She hadnt forgotten about her favorite, she just wanted to bring them home. She looked at her food and grabbed her fork. “I do have one condition. All of the guys will have to wear ugly norweigan sweaters,” she chuckled.

Ethan looked at his plate, smiling a bit to himself as he heard Vanessa put in an order for the spring rolls - he had remembered correctly then. He grabbed a fork, mostly because chopsticks were way too complicated for him, and he didn't feel like acting more of a fool than he already felt. Taking a bite of food he chewed as he named her condition, making him nod enthusiastically. "Alright, but I want matching pants as well," he said, pointing at her with the fork before resuming to eat another bite. Ethan wasn't that good at table manners, slouching a bit down over his plate, but he hadn't ever really had someone teach him the right way to eat. Or perhaps someone had tried to teach him, but he hadn't listened - either way he had a rather unusual way of eating at a table. "Hey, I know this is weird ... But could I crash at ya place tonight?" he asked, feeling a little embarrassed, but he also didn't really want to call Darren again. The guy seemed to sleep best when he didn't have him around, and who could blame him with his rapid thoughts? "It's nuffin' really ... Juss my landlord being a tosser," he mumbled taking another bite.

“You’ve got them,” she chuckled, shaking her head as she could already imagine just how he would look. She didnt mind the way he was eating, but she was different, her back straight and her manners just on point. But it was funny how easy it was to ingrain such mannerisms with a stern teacher. At least Ethan could feel free to eat the way he wanted to. Then he asked if he could come stay at her house, which surprised her a little. She was just about to ask as he explained himself. “Sure, you can stay as long as you want. The apartment is pretty big and if Ayalla is with Darren,” she said before she shrugged. “Your landlord always smiles at me when Gareth let me tag along,” she remarked, frowning a little to herself. Of course she hadnt heard Gareth curse about the landlord to Ethan everytime that happened. She finished the meat pretty fast but that just left her with the fried rice.

Ethan shrugged, not wanting to go too deep in to the problems he had. First of the apartment wasn't even worth the money he was paying each month, but it was kinda the only place that had let him stay for a while. "Yeah, he's a real jackass," he chuckled, already hearing how Gareth would get his temper up just from talking about him. "But thanks ... It hopefully shouldn't take too long, he just refuses that I've payed for this month," he said, shrugging as he thought it was just how it was going to be. He kept eating, noticing how she picked out the meat first, sighing to himself as he started to fish out some of the beef pieces from his stir fry, plopping them over on her plate. He didn't really care for meat as much, and the noodles would be plenty for him. "You've got to start ordering extra meat ... I know how ya get when ya don't get nuff protein," he mumbled, trying to keep his observations low key. However truth was he noticed things about her that other people probably glanced over. He knew she could get agitated when she hadn't had enough to eat, and he had been the victim of more than one anger outburst throughout their friendship. "If ya don't wanna seem weird, I can just order some raw meat for ya - Ya know I don't give a crap anyways," he remarked. In the summer they actually got together quite a lot, this summer having been no different. Each of them had something they preferred to eat, and he knew that Vanessa liked raw beef.

“What a dick,” she scoffed, knowing that Ethan wasnt the kind of person who would try to skip out on his rent; he may not be as well standing as the rest of them, but his pride sure was as if he was. “Well, anything for you,” she said almost softly, not caring if it was showing something it shouldnt. She couldnt let him be on the street if his landlord was planning on keeping him out, that just wasnt up to discussion. She always did this whenever she was out eating. Seperating what she didnt need from what she did need. She looked up as he started giving her his meat, raising her eyebrows thankfully, but then he stated the obvious. “I just dont want to be weird,” she mumbled. Rich resturants didnt have this problem, they had food for all species’ wants and needs. But a cheap chinese resturant in the southern district most definitrly only meet the need of the masses. “They’ll notice that you dont eat any of it,” she objected, stirring around her rice. “You really pay attention,” she said as she noticed, looking up at him a little confused. Was he like this with all his friends? He had to be, it couldnt just be her. “I’ll tell them to bag the rice. I havent touched it, and it would be a shame to throw it out.” She said before she looked down at her plate. “I’m glad you showed up... By the way... I actually worried that you wouldnt,” she then suddenly said as she realized she hadnt yet.

"It would be more weird if ya reached down in to the tank to eat a raw fish - I saw how ya looked at them," he said, merely stating the obvious. He didn't care what her diet was, frankly he found it rather surprising, but as she said they would notice, he shrugged. "We can just ask for some to go," he told her, frowning as she told him that he payed attention, sighing as he shrugged lightly. Perhaps he noticed her more because he wanted her to be happy, he wanted her to have a good time. He actually didn't even know what to reply, because he didn't feel embarrassed by confessing, but it also felt a little strange to say it like it was. "I'll eat the rice tomorrow then," he promised her, knowing that Ayalla probably wouldn't want to eat it as she seemed to prefer meat as well. Her next words made him look a bit confused at first. Why wouldn't he have shown up? Had he given any indication that he wouldn't or was she just thinking out loud? "Well, I was up anyways ... And I like hanging out with ya," he confessed, trying to shrug it off but he felt like he was a goner at this point.

It was true that she wasnt long from grabbing the fish but she also wouldnt just embarass herself. “Fine. On the go,” she accepted, folding her lips for a second. She knew he did this out of good intention and the fact was she was quite unbearable if she didnt eat enough food. His promise made her smile, but she frowned a little. “It’s meatless though,” she warned him in case he wondered if there would even be a small piece in there. His confession made her smile, looking down at her plate as it made her quite happy. “Likewise,” she mumbled. The waiter came to ask if the food was good, making Vanessa look up as she nodded with a bright smile. “It’s really good,” she said, before she took the opportunity to ask for a check so they could just walk out whenever.

"Meatless is fine," he said, it wasn't like he expected there to be a piece left. However it was food, and he knew she hated wasting things - he would gladly be her dumpster in this scenario. As she responded to his confession, he felt his heart beat a little faster. Did she actually like having him around? He guess he would always be doubting that fact. The waiter came over to check on them, and Ethan complimented their meat, saying he'd like a bit raw to go so that he could cook it with the rice tomorrow. It was a lie - Vanessa was going to eat the meat raw - but perhaps it would make her feel less self-conscious about it. He dug into his back pocket, fishing out his wallet, placing some cash down, even though he knew she would object. "Just this once, let me pay, aight," he said, sending her a brief smile. Ethan worked hard for his money, having several low paying jobs, but he did it because he wanted to. Gareth had said that he didn't need to worry about money, but he also didn't want to feel like a charity project. When they had finished eating, he grabbed the bag at the counter, the waiter smiling at him as she explained how he should cook the meat. He just nodded politely, however not really listening as he mentally was already out the door. Placing his free hand on his stomach he chuckled a bit. "That was just what I needed," he said with a sigh following, rubbing his stomach a bit. "Do ya want the meat while we walk?" he asked, ready to dig it out for her if she wanted to. He rarely flinched when she ate raw meat, however the first couple of times he had seen it did take some getting used to. He just walked beside her, holding the bag of rice and spring rolls, providing she was holding the box with meat. "I got tomorrow off, by the way, boss is having some plumbing done in the store, so we're closed," he said, shrugging lightly, but also kinda warning her that he might stick around tomorrow.

She didnt really want him to pay but she could understand that she couldnt cover everything for him, even though she really wanted to. So he paid for their food and as they got out, she felt the fresh air in her face. She chuckled as he seemed happy with the food, sighing to herself. “Alright. But if you stare, I’ll throw a slice right in your face,” she warned him, grabbing the box before opening it. She pinched a piece, eating it as if it was just some snack. She liked the taste of raw meat far better than cooked meat. There was just something about it she couldnt describe. She felt a slight rush in her stomach as he said he didnt have to go work tomorrow, but then she made a bummed out awh-sound. “I was hoping I could come and see my favorite clerk,” she teased him, but she was actually quite happy that they could spend time together, granted that he wanted to spend his day off with her. “Dont you get tired of working all the time and then spend your days-off on hanging out with us?” She asked curiously. She wasnt allowed to have a job so she wondered how it worked.

He chuckled at her threat, nodding as he promised not to stare at her. He was actually just happy to see her comfortable again, so perhaps they could just move past what he had said at the playground. Her sound made him raise an eyebrow before laughing under his breath, shaking his head a little at her. "I'm so sorry, but ya get to be stuck wiv me tomorrow anyways," he teased, poking her side with his elbow. Her question however made him shrug, but he had never really thought about it. "I don't know, I guess ma life is rather simple, innit," he said. It truly was simple, he worked, he ate, he slept and he hung out with friends. "Not all of us were born wiv a loaded father," he added, only teasing of course. He often teased Gareth for his money, saying that the guy would never know humility even if it smacked him in the face. However Vanessa seemed very different from Gareth in that perspective, she seemed to use her money more wisely. "I was actually thinking of going to the movies tomorrow ... There's this new remake out about that giant ape," he said humming as he thought about it. "Ya can join if ya wanna?" he added, not knowing if it was a movie for her.

“Oh noooo. How unfortunate,” she joked but she was quite visibly happy with the way she couldnt seem to stop herself from smiling like a fool. But she wouldnt let that show for long, stuffing her mouth with the meat to focus on that instead. After all, a Prideux were supposed to hold their cards close to their body and show as little emotion as they could. Gareth was good at controlling his emotions, but Vanessa was still young. She scoffed as he called his simple, if there was a word she would describe him with, it would never be simple. “Well, I’d trade mine for just one parent that cared,” she said with a short smile because she really just kidney-punched herself with that one. But Vanessa had never really used her money like she was overly rich, most of her clothes were thrifted if it wasnt that her father had agreed with some designer for her to wear their clothes. Even outside the facility, Samuel still found ways to use her for his own profit; but at least the clothes were nice. He mentioned the movies and she frowned a little, not really thinking of Ethan as the big movie-watcher. “Are you talking about King Kong? Because I absolutely loved that movie, despite how creepy it actually was,” she said a little excited. She nodded. “It’s a date then,” she chuckled, stopping as she checked her phone. “It’s quite far to walk from here... I’ll call a cab,” she said, ringing the number before she told the driver where to pick them up. As soon as she hung up, she put her phone down in her pocket. “We can split it, if that’ll make you feel better?” She said with a chuckle. “Though I wouldnt mind washing Samuel’s money down the drain, only that he wouldnt care and it wouldnt even hurt him,” she added with a tone that revealed how lost she felt when it came to her father. She really wanted to hate him for what he had done to her all her life, but mostly she was hurt for knowing how little he had cared for her all along. “He only cares about keeping the Prideux name clean and rich, which means he barks an order and I follow or face the consequences,” she said as she sat down on the sidewalk as the driver had said it woulf be a while.

Ethan chuckled, "yeah, King Kong," but he wasn't the biggest movie goer. He mostly wanted to see it because he had nothing else planned. But then she once more spoke of them as a couple, or perhaps he was reading too much in to her words. A date. He only went on dates with girls he liked, not just anyone, so for him it had a different meaning. He decided to try and ignore the thought, nodding as she said she would call for a taxi. Sometimes her American accent was fun to listen to. Not because he wanted to make fun of her, but to him it just sounded very appealing. "Yeah, split it," he agreed as she went on to explain how she wanted to be rebellious against her father. He could understand that, but only to some degree. He sat down next to her on the pavement, stretching his legs as there wasn't really any cars out this late - and if there were it was mostly people heading out of South anyways. "Sometimes I wonder if we are going to end up like our parents," he said, frowning a bit at his own words, looking out to the empty street. "I mean ... Am I going to be some dead beat dad who barely cares if his kid is home or not? Are ya gonna be as strict and cold as Samuel?" he asked, trying to put some words to it. He hadn't ever even considered children, but with how he was fucking around it would probably happen sooner rather than later. He sighed, scoffing a bit to himself as he pulled out the good packet of cigarettes that Vanessa had given him along with a lighter. Feeling some nicotine in his body would probably help him calm down a bit, but he was surprised at how pleasant the taste was. It was almost sweet, and smooth as the smoke filled his lungs. Exhaling he chuckled a bit. "They say a human lives roughly 200 years ... But I sometimes think that it's too long of a lifetime if it's gonna turn out shitty," he said.

She frowned at his ponder, if there was something she didnt want, then it was to turn out to be like her father. But realistically, it seemed that Samuel wanted her to. She looked out on the street as he spoke, but looked down as he asked whether she would be like her father. “I hope not,” she mumbled, scratching her neck a little. Samuel had mentioned some sort of ordeal of her taking over his firm at some point; but she didnt feel smart or strict enough to run something as her father’s business. She didnt quite believe it anyway, because if there was one thing for sure, then it was that if Samuel had to give up his position in his firm; it would be someone wringing it from his dead hands. So it just didnt add up. She was pulled from her mind as Ethan spoke again, glancing shortly at him before she shrugged and turned her eyes to the street, “I dont think you’ll turn out that way,” she said truthfully, smiling a little to herself. “Sure, I couldnt ever imagine you be a father. But I doubt that you would want your kid to go through the same as you,” she said, nodding to herself as that was what she thought at least. The cab arrived a good ten minutes later and she got in before telling the driver her address. He looked at her in the rear mirror, like he couldnt quite believe it, but he started driving towards the destination once they both were inside. She looked out the window most of the way to not get carsick, her box of meat had been closed though she was sure the driver could smell the metal. She just seemed to be thinking to herself or not wanting to say something the driver may remember. It was only because she was certain that no matter what, her father would never let her have just a moment of privacy to herself.

It was a bit of a relief to hear her comfort him like this, but truth was he wasn't so sure if her words would turn out to be real. Not that he didn't believe her, more the fact that he couldn't believe he would ever amount to something greater than his past. The taxi arrived, and Ethan got up, stomping out his cigarette on the ground before following her in. It was clear that the driver didn't quite believe them, and maybe he thought that they were out to do some trouble. He couldn't really blame him though, they didn't look like the kind to be living in that neighborhood. She was quiet, and he took it as a sign to be quiet as well looking out the front window just seeing the scenery change. "Maybe I should reserve those seats," he mumbled, taking out his phone. His screen was pretty busted, but he could still kinda make out what people wrote. Going on to the cinema website he clicked around for a bit. "Ya want the ones in the back or the ones with more leg room?" he asked, showing her the screen with the different options. To him it didn't really matter as he just wanted to sit next to her. King Kong wasn't a romantic movie, so at least it would be friendly to what their relationship was supposed to be. "There's barely anyone watching it tomorrow ... I guess people still on their fancy vacations and shite," he mumbled, frowning a little.

She just kept thinking about whether she could trust this driver or not. She noticed how he glanced at her in the rear mirror and either he found her funny looking or else it was because he knew who she was. She heard Ethan’s mumble and turned to look at his screen, but seeing how cracked the screeen was, she couldnt see much. She just decided to keep looking out the window and notice whether the driver kept staring at her. Ethan’s question made her hum as she looked at the screen, narrowing her eyes a little. “I think we shooouuld, sit here,” she pointed to a few seats in the back before she chuckled, “If the movie’s boring then we can flick popcorn around,” she said, though she didnt think it would be bad. It didnt really matter though, because she just wanted to spend time with him. “Yeah. The building Ayalla and I live in is almost desolate, because they’re all just on some fancy holiday to the Bahamas, or where ever they go,” she remarked with a shrug. She really didnt like how she could tell the driver kept staring, reaching out carefully to grab Ethan’s hand, if not to alert him then to just calm herself. She also felt like she couldnt recognize the roads anymore, but it wasnt like the man was taking them down any sort of shady path.

Ethan chuckled at her suggestion, nodding as he was always up for a good popcorn fight. He decided to reserve the seats, humming to himself as the radio in the taxi was a bit static. "I mean if I had the money I would probably get away from this shitty weather too," he chuckled, shrugging lightly. The weather in Churchill was a bit moody. Sometimes it could rain on days without end and other times it would be warmer than an oven. The human wasn't really that observant of the driver, but when he felt Vanessa take his hand he looked at her a bit worried. "What's wrong? Stomach ache?" he asked a little worried, placing at the driver and noticing how he was looking at Vanessa ever so often. Gritting his teeth he gave her hand a squeeze. "Oi bruv, staring at ladies ain't a good look - watch the road," he warned him. Ethan was a hothead. If someone made his friends uncomfortable, he was sure to be the first to speak up. It just angered him that this creep was staring at Vanessa. "Ya deaf or sum'fing? Keep ya lookers to ya-self, tosser," he said, poking his head forward in a threatening manner. He then turned to look at Vanessa, flashing her a reassuring smile. "Ey, is alright, yeah? We home soon and I ain't gonna leave, aight?" he promised her in a low murmur.

She just kept her eyes on their hands, shaking her head lightly at his question. This was far too much for her, showing actual discomfort in this way. She felt a little weak as Ethan gave her hand a squeeze. The driver eyed the human as he raised his eyebrows, clearly not impressed by his words. He scoffed and seemed to ignore the warning. Vanessa was trying her best not to seem affected by it but it was hard at this point. It felt like the only thing that really made sense in this cab was Ethan and she felt like a horrible friend if she didnt find a way to control herself. “Home soon,” she mumbled after his promise, closing her eyes as she drew in a deep breaths. She was shaking a little at this point, even though the driver seemed to have lost interest, it wasnt just about the staring anymore. “I’m sorry,” she whispered as she closed her eyes, feeling them well up under her lids. This was pathetic, she felt pathetic. They arrived at the apartment and she just pulled out some cash that she handed Ethan before making a quick exit of the vehicle. She grabbed onto a streetlight to support herself, shaking her head at herself as she begged in her mind for it to just pass.

He knew this part of her, he knew that she could easily get flustered and scared, but he had made a promise to look out for her. Taking the cash he payed the driver, mumbling some slur under his breath before exiting the car and walking over to Vanessa. "Hey, hey, look at me," he said in a hushed voice, grabbing her face and holding it between his palms. He looked in to her eyes if they were open, signaling how she should breathe. "I'm here, alright, I'm right here and no one is going to hurt ya, aight," he said, his voice warm and comforting. Swallowing he looked up at the apartment building briefly before returning his eyes to hers. "C'mon ... Let get ya inside," he said, smiling at her with his boyish grin under the surface. He didn't like seeing her like this, but he also didn't want her to be alone when she started to feel this way. He took her hands, walking backwards as they approached the building, his eyes on her and guiding her to the best of his ability. "Not long now, ya doing awesome, Vane," he encouraged her.

This was bad, at least in her mind. She had spent so long trying to just hide this part of her, with the exception of that one time at Gareth’s place where it all just happened so fast. She had told herself it wouldnt happen again, and now it was just happening and she couldnt stop it. He asked her to look at him and as she felt his hands hold her face, she did. Tears were running down her cheeks but she looked at him; even though looking him in the eye was something she couldnt at this point. He was so gentle with her that she couldnt help but feel safe, but she could have been that way with anyone. It was about trusting the right person, because trusting the wrong person to give her this false sense of security could just about break her. She followed his lead, keeping her eyes down as he could be leading her anywhere he’d want at this point. “I’m sorry,” she just mumbled hoarsely, like other words couldnt come to mind. Inside the apartment she seemed to calm somewhat down, but she just stood by the door, touching a necklace that was dangling from a nail in the doorframe. She found great comfort in her trinkets, but if it was up to her, she would be standing there all night. “I’m weak,” she whispered as she looked down and wrapped her arms around herself.

"Don't apologize, it's alright," he said in an understanding tone. He didn't know exactly what she was going through, but he had seen her react this way that one time at Gareth's. He helped her inside the apartment, closing and locking the door after her, hoping it would give her some sense of security. She stopped, touching a necklace and he sighed to himself as he popped off his vans, leaving them rather disheveled on the ground. He bended down, helping her out of her shoes as if she was a small kid. He shook his head at her words. "Ya the strongest person I know, Vane," he mumbled, moving to his feet as he had gotten the shoes off of her. She just stood there and he smiled at her softly, his face not showing that he found it funny, rather he wanted to help her. He took her hand that was touching the necklace, looking at her face with a calm demeanor. "Come," he said, pulling her softly and not trying to force her away, more like coercing a child to stop looking at their toys. He took her in to the living room, sighing as he saw how sterile it almost looked. Hadn't the two roomies ever heard of just messing some shit up? "Aight, I need ya to do sum'fing for me," he said, grabbing a blanket that he wrapped around her shoulders. "I need ya to tell me what ya need," he said, but he was being rather serious. He had no experience with something like this, and the last thing he wanted was to hurt her accidentally.
