Young and wild

"Eww~" Maddie frowned at Tessa's words "It sounds disgusting to even think about," she giggled, but ultimately shaking her head a little to get the imagery out of her head. Just thinking how some of the immortals could look if they had kept ageing sent displeasing shivers down her spine, sticking out her tongue in disgust. The praising of her pancakes made her chuckle. "It's the first time I'm making them, so I just hope that they taste the part too," she sighed before waving back.

In the living room she was busy kissing his face, making sure that no part of it got left out of her attention. Gods, he sounded so hot in the morning, having to stifle herself a bit to not just jump him. As he cupped her face she leaned in to his lips, feeling yesterdays smoke still on them, but to her it just tasted like him. Sitting up she sighed, nodding as he went on to explain about his dreams. "You normally move around a lot, but tonight you were totally still," she added, not knowing if it really contributed to him feeling better.
It wasn't before he noticed the pancakes that she felt nervous yet again. "I don't think it's going to be my next hobby, but it's kinda fun just making something ... I don't know how they taste, so please don't judge me too hard," she chuckled, grabbing the plate and handing it to him along with a fork. Laying down on the pillows she looked at the TV for a while, letting him eat in peace. Without really thinking about it her hand just drew mindless circles on his thigh, deeply invested in whatever show was on. Her other hand moved up to her collarbone, her skin healed almost instantly, but it was still a little sore to the touch. It made her smile, and she probably looked silly as she was laying there, but it was only because she was so comfortable around him. Something in her had changed, not for the worse, but for the better, at least in her eyes. He meant more than ever before. Crazy for someone her age to even think about a love like this, but it was how she felt.

"Yeah you're right. I probably wasnt as annoying per ushe," he remarked in his sleepy voice, but then he saw the food. He looked at her with an analyzing look before he just shook his head and grabbed his plate and fork that she handed him. "You'll hear nothing but praise from me," he assured her, before he got to eating. Even if it wasnt as sweet as he usually thought them to, it was far better than the cheap ones that his mom would buy from the store. Usually those kinds were dry and tasted like cardboard. It was nice to have something that wasnt just bought cheap from some mass corporation that didnt really care about anything than quantity. He noticed her fiddle with the tattoo, smiling a little to himself as he finished up the pancakes. Once the pancakes were finished and he had put his plate in the washing machine, he was out on the balcony, smoking a cigarette deep in thought. Actually so deep that he was completely forgetting to smoke his cigarette. It wasnt till he noticed her in the corner of his eye that he seemed to unfreeze, looking down before he drew in a deep breath. "If I died. Would you be sad?" he asked, looking at her with more serious eyes. "Sorry, stupid question. It's because I wouldnt really want you to be sad," he said, knowing it was a possibility and probably the last thing she wanted to think about now. It was just eating away at him, not talking it through.

Maddie didn't mind the silence, it was calming for someone like her that was always on the move or out socializing. As he got up she stayed on the makeshift bed on the floor, just giving him some space on a lazy morning like this. When he went to the balkony she wanted to join once the commercials came on, and as they rolled over the screen she moved to her feet. She could see how deep in thoughts he was, the ashes of his cigarettes not flicked away, and a faint worried frown graced her forehead.
Then he asked her something that made her feel worried. What did he mean by that? Had he not seen how she had fought for him last night? As he started to explain himself, she just shook her head, walking over to stand beside him, taking his cigarette, flicking the ash off before inhaling the weird tasting smoke. Well it was perhaps because of her estranged taste buds, but she held the smoke in her lungs for a while before breathing it out carefully, handing it back to him.
"I wouldn't be sad," she said with a small sigh as she looked out at the city. "I don't even know if I would be able to feel anything if you suddenly weren't there," she confessed, looking down to the streets far below them. She felt a lump in her throat just thinking about it, her eyes watering with what could best be described as blood. "Tyler, I know that we are young, and I want to be young for a good amount more before we even start talking about stuff like mortality," it wasn't that she was delusional, but just the thought of him not being around was breaking her non beating heart in to pieces. Looking up she took deep breaths, trying to calm herself before she looked at him, a few tears having escaped and leaving red marks down her cheeks. "I know there'll come a time, hopefully many many years from now where you are this old grey haired man ... I know that every mortal has it's time to live and it's time to die, but I can't afford to worry about it, because I love you," her voice breaking slightly as she reached over, taking his hand. "And I don't want to force you to do anything you don't want to, and if you want to grow old, then that's what you'll do; All I'm asking is that I get to be along for the ride," looking down to their hands. It was hard to imagine him growing old and her staying the same, but she could live with it. She knew that she would love him no matter what, because he would always be Tyler.

At first he thought she was just going to leave it at her not being sad. A little harsh in his opinion, but then again, it was what he wanted. But then she confessed and he frowned a little. "That's not really a comforting thought," he admitted as he scratched his neck, seeing her eyes turn redder. But she was right, it was just that his mind couldnt really just leave it. "I know, Maddie, it's what I want too," he assured her. He saw the blood as it rolled down her cheeks, reaching over to catch the tears with his sleeve, avoiding smearing it on her face.
"I know your family has allowed us to be together now for the time being. But who's to say if they wont one day change their mind?" he asked just to show where his mind was heading. he sighed and gave her hand a soft squeeze. "I love you. I love you with all my heart. But I also know where I come from. Who I am. It was stupid to believe your family would ever give me a chance, I'm only lucky that they didnt kill me right then and there" he said with a scoff, shaking his head at himself. "It's a silly thought. But I also feel like it's important to take into consideration," he remarked.
He looked out on the city again, pulling at her hand to get her closer so he could wrap an arm around her. "We can talk about something else. Such as when should we go look for that new apartment?" he asked, smiling softly before kissing her temple carefully but also rather tender.

"Do you want me to choose between you and my family?" she asked, but she knew what she would do. "Don't do that, cause I'll choose you every time, alright ... I know it's not rational, but you mean more to me than being some stupid Vincent heir," she said rather seriously. She would give it all up, just to be with him, even though her family would try, they couldn't really control her in the end, right? Then a thought struck her, one that made more tears appear, but it was only because of her fears of losing him. What if he was trying to convince her to give up? What if her grandmother's words had truly struck doubt in him?
He tried to change the subject but she shook her head, turning to look at him, reaching her free hand up to cup his face. "I don't see you as unworthy, I see you as the person you are, not where you come from ... I thought that was obvious by now," she said, whispering the last part before letting go of his face and hand, moving in to the apartment as the sun was starting to get to her. She walked in to the bedroom, sitting down on the bed as she ran a hand through her hair. She was terrified, because losing him would mean that her family had won, it would mean they thought they could just go back to controlling her again.
Sitting on the bed for a while, her hand mindlessly wandered up to the tattoo on her collarbone. His name was on her, she was branded. Was there really nothing else that she could do to show she belonged with him? For a second she considered calling up Tessa, asking her for some sort of advice or perhaps just a few encouraging words, but that wasn't really what she needed. She needed to show Tyler what he meant to her.

"No! I dont want you to choose." he exclaimed a little disgruntled, but that was because that wasnt what he had been trying to say at all. He knew she would go great lengths to be with him and that was probably what scared him the most in all this. Because he wasnt as great as she had made him out to be, he just couldnt be. He was a nobody with no promise or wealth, at least nothing greater than getting by. She cupped his face and he knew the conversation had derailed to a point where they had to talk it through. He watched her leave and gritted his teeth slightly as he felt bad. Felt bad that he made her believe that he didnt think she was serious about being with him. That she was the love of his life and seemingly what he did best was hurting her feelings.
He just rubbed his face and leaned a little onto the railing with his elbows, looking out on the city. This was just unfair. They were both so young and yet it felt like they had aged quite a lot in the last couple of days. It was a headache to just think about. And of course he felt like he was at fault. This wouldnt have happened if he hadnt been so careless and kept up the agreement to remain a secret. He groaned with a sigh and looked down. The world seemed so small from up here. And yet the weight on their shoulders felt immense. "You're so fucking stupid Tyler," he mumbled to himself with a soft scoff.

She was just sitting on the bed, letting a million thoughts run through her head as she tried making heads and tails of it all. She genuinely loved Tyler, there was no question about it, and yet she feared that what she felt was not reciprocated. Of course he cared about her, there was no doubt about it, and his willingness to stand up to her grandmother was commendable. But she felt the seed of doubt planting itself in her mind. What if he would give up? What if the pressure from her family was enough to break them apart in the end? She felt her body react strongly to these fears, a couple more bloody tears running down her cheeks, landing on her pants. Great, now she had to change as well.
She seemed to get it together eventually, but she felt awfully quiet. Maddie had never been afraid to make a lot of noise when she moved around, but right now she felt like she had to. She picked out a dress, one that most normal mortals would pick when the weather was better, but she had never cared about the seasons, unless it was fashion related. Taking off her jeans and shirt she stood for a while just looking at herself in the mirror. She had always liked how she looked, never felt like anything was wrong, but now looking at the tattoo she had something that she liked more than how she looked. She loved how the tattoo was delicate and rough at the same time, how the memory of Tyler working on it would be forever engrained in her brain. Touching the letter T carefully she couldn't help but smile. He could always do that, so seeing his name had a similar effect.
Getting dressed was easy, and she went out to apply some light make up. She was done sulking. There was no need to be fighting now, not when that was what her family wanted. By the time she was done, she hoped he had moved back in to the living room. Approaching him she looked at him with hopeful eyes. "Alright ... Enough with this, you are right," she said, almost as if she had flipped a switch. Only thing was that a vampyre could think things through a lot faster than a human, and she had had plenty of time in her opinion. Reaching out she hoped that she could be able to take his hand, holding it in a gentle grasp as she looked down at their fingers intertwining slowly. "Let us go out apartment shopping, but afterwards there's something I want to show you," she said, smiling as her eyes returned to his.
