School Shenanigans [cw]

"Well, he better b-b-be nice anyway, now that you h-h-have m-me." Abel said quite determined. She got up and sat on him, he chuckled a little shyly before he greeted her lips again like nothing had interrupted them before.

It had been a couple of good weeks for Abel, mostly because he had Zaira. There was not as much room for the stuff he had going on at home to bother him as he just put his focus elsewhere. Jeremy was still apologizing even though it had been weeks, to the point where Abel thought he was just a broken record. He was looking forward to seeing Zaira for dinner. At least until it turned out that a certain someone had other plans.

She eventually got up from the grass, pulling her ponytail out as she felt her phone vibrate. Looking at the screen she pouted, breathing out through her nose. "Damn," she mumbled, typing back to reply to his message.

[Zaira:] Ait, I'll just meet you at the lake club <3

She smiled before she headed in to have a shower. She had actually looked forward to this. It was going to be their first real official date, and she had brought a change of clothes that she hoped he would like. Not that she dressed for him, but seeing as it was their first real date she wanted to look good for him. She even put on some winged eyeliner and mascara, even though she knew she would end up smudging it.
She was wearing a mesh like bralette under a matching set where the jacket was kept open, the shorts to match and a set of heels just to elevate her a bit and not make her seem so small next to Abel.

Finishing getting ready she saw the message, frowning as she wasn't sure what to say. Sitting down on a bench outside she just sat for a while wondering what was going on.

[Messages between Abel and Zaira]
[Zaira:] It's alright

She felt a knot in her stomach, like something was wrong, but could she really demand that he told her? Looking up at the sky she tried not to get emotional. This was so unlike her.

[Zaira:] Will you come by later?

Maybe that was a long shot. Maybe he was just like other guys and was getting over the hype of her being the new girl. She tried not to let herself be too bothered, but she knew this pattern well enough at this point.

It didnt feel good to be putting her down like this. He knew all he had to do was really just say what it was that was hindering him from showing up, but it frankly slipped his mind in the moment. Her last message made him sigh as he nodded to himself, though he knew it wasnt certain.

[Abel:] I'm gonna have to see.

Okay, don't freak out, he's probably just being held back by his family or him and Jeremy drove too far out of town and is heading back. But that seed was planted in her and she tried just to focus on walking. She could feel her heart beat a little faster, making her feel rather overwhelmed, but she just started walking home, passing people even though they greeted her. She wanted to hide. Because her head was already making up a lot of things that Abel could be doing.
She passed the smoking shed, not even noticing Kurtis as she just walked straight past him deep in her mind, a furrowed brow on her face.

Kurtis had actually been doing fine for himself after all that had happened. He however didnt really feel like spending time with Zaira regardless, especially now that Abel had practically demanded that he'd be nice to her. He was leaned up against the wall with some other smokers talking as he noticed her walk past. One of the smokers did too, whistling quite loud at her with a big smile on his lips, before looking ahead. Seeing that Kurtis was the only one looking at her then, it might have seemed like it was his doing. He gave the guy a light shove and told him to fuck off before he made a deep sigh and went after her. It was then he noticed that she didnt seem completely fine. "What's up with you?" he asked with a frown.

Normally she would've reacted. Stopped in her tracks and yelled at them, but she was so deep in her mind that it didn't really register as reality. It wasn't until she heard a familiar voice that she seemed to snap out of it, turning her head to see Kurtis. Great, of all people he could see right now it was that idiot lycan? "What do you care?" she almost spat, taking out some of her frustrations on him, even though she didn't want to. She kept walking, adjusting her bag over her shoulder, but it was still heavy. "If you really wanna know then ask Abel," she said, looking ahead as she felt her stomach churn once again. She hated thinking about what he might be doing. And why he wasn't telling her anything.

The way she spat at him was something that made him blink a few times as he considered whether to snap back or just take it. For now he decided to let it slide. She mentioned Abel and he frowned a little while he was looking at her with an expression that didnt understand. "I dont want to get tangled up in your mess." he came clean but clearly there was something completely wrong. "Just talk to me. It's so much fucking easier for the both of us."

She stopped, mostly because she felt like she would just start crying if he kept following her. "Alright, I hope you're really going to enjoy it," she said as she talked about how her and Abel had been planning this date for the whole week, how she had gotten ready and skipped out on plans with her team to be with him. Only for him to text that he wouldn't be coming and that he wasn't even sure if he was coming by later. "I haven't been on a real date like ... Ever; And now I just think i'm stupid for getting all dolled up for some guy that's not even sure if he's going to see me today," she said, taking a few deep breaths to calm down.

He stopped with her and was ready to listen to whatever she had to say. Her going on a date with Abel sounded like something that was quite typical to rile up girls, especially if they got stood up. He narrowed his eyes as she got to the end of her sentence, not sure how he should start out. "Dont you just think it's his sister or some shit?" he asked, because he had to stick up for his friend too, like a good friend would do. He lifted his hand and lifted her chin to get a good look of her face, humming before letting go. "It is a shame that you made all that effort though, I'll agree." he said.

"I don't know, and now he won't answer," she said, shrugging as she looked away. However as he lifted her chin she looked him straight in the eye, weak for a second before pushing his hand away scoffing at his words. "Oh would you shut up," she said, moving away from him, keeping her distance. She was not a cheater, not like him, she had only been with him because he had been mysterious and broody. Now he was just moody and sad. "I'm going home, so you can stick your complements up your ass," she said before she went off.

He had been quite genuine but she just shrugged it off and he wasnt really willing to push on. She was Abel's girl now anyway and he didnt fuck with that. But her remark did make him frown a little. Okay fuck being nice. "Fine.." he mumbled, drawing in a deep breath. "You look like shit! Just fucking... go home and cry like a baby!" he yelled, unsure why he was trying to poke at her like this but now he was sticking to it.

"Yeah? Go fuck one of your wannabe girlfriends!" she yelled back, throwing up both hands where she was flipping him off before she finally got home. Instead of doing much she grabbed a beer from the fridge, heading upstairs and out on to her own balcony where she had placed a mattress. She liked sleeping outside when the weather was nice. Sitting down on it she took off her shoes, taking a sip of her beer and put on some music. She couldn't really handle all this frustration in her body right now, so she just stared up at the sky.

He drew in a deep breath to calm himself down, even though her flipping him off made it a little harder. He just shook his head and went back to the shed to get his bag before he went home as well. He didnt even think he had been rude to her really, at least not like he could have been if he wanted to. He ran a hand through the mess on his head before he got home. He knew his father wasnt coming home soon and his mother was probably out shopping like crazy or doing something else to keep herself busy than just being home all the time and doing nothing.

She emptied her bottle of beer, placing it down before lifting her phone up, looking at her screen. It was late now, wasn't it? Biting the inside of her cheek she texted Abel, knowing that she was just going to sleep anyways.

[Zaira:] Hey, Imma head to bed now
[Zaira:] If you do show, you know where the key is
[Zaira:] At least I'll see you in my dreams <3

Placing her phone next to her on the mattress she looked back up at the sky. Her mom would be home late again, but she usually was. She looked in to her room, seeing the bag with a gift she had brought for Abel as well. It wasn't anything crazy, just a limited edition t shirt of one of the bands on his wall. It had been a bit pricey, but money didn't really matter to her when it came to giving gifts. She eventually fell asleep.

Abel didnt answer that night nor did he show up to school the morning after. Jeremy stood by the gate alone, seeing that Kurtis was less and less present now that Zaira had come into the picture. It wasnt something he liked, but he also found the lycan so stupid for not getting his head out of his ass on this one. He tipped from foot to foot as he waited a little impatiently.

Zaira showed up, greeting Jeremy with a half smile. She was wearing just her casual uniform, but had unbuttoned a few of her buttons on her shirt and was wearing a choker that connected to a leather body wrap. "Hey, uhm, have you heard from Abel?" she asked, trying not to show that it was bothering her, but of course it did. She hadn't slept well, mostly because she was either having a nightmare about Abel or Kurtis, both which were so vivid and strange that part of her had thought it was real when she woke up that morning.

Jeremy greeted her with a friendly smile and a short wave before he looked ahead to see if Abel was to see anywhere. "Uhhh... Yeah, like brief yesterday. He told me that he wanted to go early so he could make it to your date." he said, but then he guessed that Abel did not make it to the date. "Shit, I'm sorry." he said sincerely, frowning a little. It wasnt like Abel to just stand people up for no reason, no that sounded more like a Kurtis thing to Jeremy. So it was a little off for him now that he was thinking about it. "I'm sure he didnt mean to."

Swallowing she shook her head at Jeremy. She didn't need his pity. "Yeah, well I guess it is what it is, right?" she sighed, biting the inside of her cheek that felt a little sore from all the biting she had been doing. "Did he say what he had to do? - I'm not trying to be some crazy bitch, he just hasn't replied," because maybe his friend would know, and she would stop feeling that knot in her stomach that hurt so badly.
"I got geography ... And I have to sit next to Kurtis who I kinda cussed out yesterday," she said, shaking her head as she clearly had a lot on her mind. "Gotta run," she said as the bell rang, waving as she went off.

"No but when it's like this, it's always something with his sister." he just said, knowing it wasnt that certain but he felt like it was. There was no other reason for Abel to not have shown up to their date if it wasnt because it was something super urgent. As she said she had cussed out Kurtis he chuckled. "I'm sure you didnt penetrate the ego armor that he has." he said, before she ran off. He decided to stick in case Abel did show up, but eventually had to head inside.

Kurtis stood outside the classroom with a girl that he was talking to. She was telling some sort of wild story and he listened, keeping his composure though he sometimes scoffed or even chuckled as he found some of it pretty funny. He noticed Zaira but didnt really look in her direction, mostly because he didnt want her to cuss at him again, especially not with everyone around.

Something with his sister? Alright, now both of Abel's closest friends had mentioned that, but now she was starting to worry for a different reason. She spotted Kurtis, taking a deep breath before approaching him, "hey, Kurt, you got a minute?" she asked, the girl staring at her in confusion and she had every right to be pissed off, but she didn't have time for petty shit. Pulling him with her she stood a bit away from the others, and felt stupid for even asking. "Could you like ... I don't know check up on Abel for me?" she asked. She knew that was a big favor to ask, even when she had cussed him out yesterday, but she was genuinely starting to worry. "I don't really know his family, and I'm not trying to overstep some boundary - 'cause he clearly don't want me to know anything I just-" she said shaking her head a little as she hadn't acted like this before, "I just want to know how he's doing and then you don't have to do anything for me ever again."

The girl had to stop the story as Zaira interrupted, both of them looking at the human. Kurtis just hummed and followed her lead as she pulled at him, though he did pull her hand off of him. That just wasnt something he'd go along with. Her request seemed simple enough but he wasnt sure that he even owed her anything. He blinked a few times as he looked at her, before he sighed and made a small stretch. "I dont know. I might be too busy fucking one of my wannabe girlfriends, cuz' I seem to have a lot of them apparently." he said in a thoughtful manner but also rather serious. He just wanted her to look sorry for just a second, then he'd chuckle and smile slightly. "Save the puppy eyes. Fine, I'll go see what's up and report back." he said but then he looked towards class and his smile faded a little as some people were looking. "This one time." he added with a frown. He realized that he didnt have her number but he thought he could just tell Jeremy to forward the message.

"Don't give me that shit," she muttered, looking down for a while before he seemed to chuckle and give in. It made her smile, nodding, "that would be great," she said as he looked around. His stoic self was back and she just nodded at his addition. It was better than nothing. "Give me your phone," she said and if he handed her it she would type in her number, "text me as soon as you've talked to him, aight?" she said before she moved in to class. She found it a bit hard to focus, but she managed to get through the day.
She heard whispers in the corners of the school. That she had been seen giving her number to the player Kurtis, that she had made him smile. Was she cheating on her current fling that was Abel? She just ignored the rumors, because they didn't really matter. Not until she was cornered at recess as she was standing in line to get food. It was clearly a group of girls that didn't approve of what she was doing, "uhm, can I fucking help you?" she asked very confused before she was pushed in to one of the tables. Soon enough a full on fight broke loose, because Zaira refused to take this petty bullshit. In the end she ended up with a bruised lip and scratches on her décolletage, but the other girls looked way worse. The girl who started the fight had an active nosebleed as she was sent off to the principal's office while Zaira was sent to the nurse.

Her mutter was all he needed to know to move on from then. But he should have probably been pretty persistent in not taking her number because people noticed. So once geography was over and he had gone to the smoke shed with the other smokers, he was already considering skipping the last few classes and going to see what was going on with Abel. A guy came out running like the school's residential hype man, spreading the word of a girl fight in the school's canteen. He wasnt really that interested until the guy mentioned that it was the new girl. Kurtis threw his smoke on the ground and stomped it before he headed inside. He asked a teacher about it and found out that Zaira was in the nurse's office. He went there, standing outside with his hands in his pocket leaned a little against the wall, waiting for her to come out.
