School Shenanigans [cw]

She had expected a no, not because she doubted how he felt, but because things were complicated and he didn't want to tie her down. But she didn't feel like that. She just really liked him, and being able to have some sort of descriptor for what they had together, then she wanted that. He started talking about the messes with his father. She wanted to object, say that she didn't care about his stupid father and that one day they wouldn't have to care about that asshole. He could probably feel how she was going through a roller coaster of emotions until he said he did want to be her boyfriend. Her lips pulled up in a smile as she chuckled a bit, barely believing it, but he had that same seriousness to him.
"You're so indecisive, you ass," she mumbled, leaning in to connect their lips. She could feel her heart beat a little faster, the joy spreading in her body as she started to realise that she was kissing her boyfriend who loved her. She felt almost high by the thought alone, smiling against his lips as she felt giddy. "When you get off of your punishment I'm gonna show you just what kind of crazy you just agreed to be the boyfriend of," she chuckled, clearly teasing, but she was clearly planning something.

As the student entered, she hid her face in Kurtis' chest. He hadn't said that they could be dating publicly, so she still considered his need for this to be secret. She heard the door close and she sighed, getting down from the desk as she grabbed her bag. His tease made her scoff, "I think you'll find my grade average is quite high," she smirked, heading out as she went to class waving at him as she walked away.
Next was physics with Jeremy, and she picked him as partner no doubt. The teacher never had anything about them pairing up as they were both sorta overachievers in that regard. "Hey, how are you?" she asked rather genuinely, having been too afraid to just ask him as he had been at the gate this morning. She just wanted to catch up on everyone, see how they were doing, but the nephilim seemed to be the one doing the best out of the bunch. The teacher walked past and Zaira switched quickly over to talk about the properties of potential energy that they had to convert to kinetic energy, the teacher nodding approvingly before walking on to the next pair. "And what's up with you being around that guy?" she just had to know, but also without Jeremy knowing that she had read Kurtis' messages.

Rightfully so he had been worried too, and she placed a hand on his back, rubbing it a bit. She knew what had happened had been bad, but she couldn't imagine what those around her had gone through. She was at least lucky that they hadn't released Vanessa or Jamie yet on any bail. That way she had to walk around with the people who had hurt her. "Yeah, I'm still sorry," even though she knew it wasn't her fault, she still felt the need to apologise. It just felt better that way, even if it was a selfish feeling.
The talk continued to Damiano and she couldn't help but smile a little as she looked through her notes. "Well he looks hella cute," she muttered, hoping he would bite, but he probably wouldn't. Taking a deep breath she scribbled down some answers, adjusting her spine a bit as it was hurting to have the pressure on it. "I guess I've been replaced then?" She said, a shit eating grin on her lips as she nudged a bit to Jeremy chuckling under her breath. Fuck she really wanted to tell Jeremy everything about what her and Kurtis had been going through, but she felt like that wasn't her job to do. Kurtis had a lot of power in this relationship, but lucky for him she could handle that. "So what's this buzz about a party this weekend? I mean I sure as hell can't convince my mom to let me go, but I would like updates on the phone?" That ways she wasn't really missing out, right? Besides that she didn't want to risk running in to Finn. She still hadn't forgiven him.

"Awe, Jere," she muttered leaning her head on his arm for a bit smiling to herself. He really thought of her that way? She felt like this day was just filled with emotions, but perhaps it was because after shit like this you always had to tell people what they meant to you. "Don't tell your dad you said that, it would be hard acting as your stepmother if you see me on the same level as you," she teased in a hushed voice before shaking her head. "You're the best brother," she mumbled before leaning back to sit relatively normal. She was an only child, and without her father her mother hadn't really wanted more kids.
The teacher seemed rather oblivious today to all the talk going on in class. Maybe he was just naive enough to think it was all school related? People seemed to be buzzing with the prospect of a new party host. Let's face it, you had been to one Kelsey party, you had been to them all. "Yeah I saw the announcement online, they seem to go by some anonymous name just to keep the hype up," she shrugged. Although she was happy that Jeremy would send her updates, "and pictures; I wanna know everything."
Then the conversation took a turn she wasn't really prepared for. Kurtis. She looked at her notes, humming as she thought about it. "Not really out of the usual," well besides the fact that they were making out just minutes ago and he confessed to loving her? "No I can't really think of anything, but my head did take quite the damage," she said looking at Jeremy with a puzzled look. "Why, are you scared he's going to hurt me or something?"

It was hurting her a little bit not to come clean to him already. She wanted to spill everything, let Jeremy know what they were now, but she also didn't know if she could break Kurtis' trust like this. Scribbling down on a piece of paper, passing it over to him.

[Zaira:] Why don't you ask him?

She knew it wasn't a bulletproof plan, but alas, if Kurtis were the one to tell Jeremy, then she could be more open, right? Class continued, and she didn't really feel comfortable talking about much more, mostly because she was starting to feel a bit dizzy again. The pain came in rollercoasters highs and lows. At least it was her last period now, so when she was done she could head home and get scolded by the doctor. The bell rang and she packed her stuff together, smiling at Jeremy. Once he had spoken with Kurtis it would be easier. She shot a text to Kurtis, just to give him a heads up.

[Messages between Kurtis and Zaira]
[Zaira:] Don't be mad
[Zaira:] Jere asked about you and I
[Zaira:] I just told him to talk to you

Biting her lower lip she headed out the door.

Zaira bit her lip as she got in to the car, a driver taking her home. Her mother had insisted on a private driver after her attack, which she felt was a bit weird. But it did help with feeling more safe. She looked at her phone once she was seated, smiling to herself at the messages, but did this mean he wanted it to be public? Would he really be up for that?

[Messages between Kurtis and Zaira]
[Zaira:] Don't be fucking with me
[Zaira:] Do you mean it?

She felt her heart race rather fast as she thought about it. Was she ready for that attention? Sure, she could handle it, but she was rather vulnerable right now and still healing. Looking at their texts she felt butterflies just re-reading them. He was such a dork, huh?

[Zaira:] Are you calling later? <3

Damiano was sitting in the school library. He had caught up to Jeremy's schedule pretty well, knowing he had some extra classes right now, and he was himself working on another assignment. The computers here were a lot better than the one he had at home. Taking out his phone he looked at it, thinking that it was getting a bit late.

[Messages between Jeremy and Damiano]
[Damiano:] Hey, would you be up for some food at my place?

The teacher finally dismissed them after a bit and he moved out to be greeted by the driver that was also sent to pick him up by his parents. It still sucked being grounded and he could feel the eyes on him as he went. But luckily he still had that black eye, so everyone just assumed that he was being escorted because of a fight. That felt better than the truth. He checked his phone in the car.

[Messages between Kurtis and Zaira]
[Kurtis:] Yeah, fuck people and what they'll say. I dont give a shit.
[Kurtis:] I'll call you later, most def. We can talk then. I gotta go behave like a remorseful young man now.

Jeremy took a seat in the back, which he usually did. The class was filled with all grades, he only felt privileged to be allowed among them. There werent many first years in class and the few that were, he definitely didnt get along with. They felt like they were on a far higher level than him, even if they probably werent. He felt his phone buzz and normally wouldnt have checked but he thought why not. It could be important. He saw the message from Damiano and bit back a smile.

[Messages between Jeremy and Damiano]
[Jeremy:] Are you cooking? And I will only say yes if it doesnt end up in pizza.
[Jeremy:] Just kidding. Sure. I've got one class left. You off now?

Damiano continued to write his essay, checking the spelling and syntax, making sure he wasn't slipping up on himself. But he had to be honest with himself; His thoughts were with Jeremy. He really liked that guy, even if it could only go as far as a friendship, he hoped that it could broaden both of their horizons. He heard his phone buzz against the table, grabbing it as it buzzed a second time. Someone was eager.

[Messages between Jeremy and Damiano]
[Damiano:] I'll cook if you clean (;
[Damiano:] Yeah I'm at the library, come pick me up when you're done

He had managed to finish up his essay, seeing as he was actually quite efficient once he put his mind to it. Sending it off he looked up at Jeremy as he stood there. Fuck he looked so cute hugging on to his bag, but he couldn't really say that without upsetting the guy, right? "Hiya, yeah, just finishing up," he smiled packing his written notes up, getting on his feet and turning off the computer. He took his bag, swinging it over his shoulder, crossing his body as he nodded with his head as if to say they could head out. "My family won't be home, I hope that's alright?" he said, opening the door and leading them out to the bike shed. Unlocking his bike, he pulled it with him, as they might as well walk the way home. It wasn't too far.
"I was thinking on making you my special dish; Macaroni," he said, although it might sound lame, he did make it rather well. Not as good as his father, but he had time to learn as he grew older. He led them through the rich neighborhood, coming up to the border towards Central where his parents' restaurant was. They lived above the restaurant and he led them to a back door that led up to their home without going through the actual dining area. His bike he chained to a fence outside before heading up the stairs.
His home was rather humble, not the biggest or the grandest, at best a big apartment with room enough for their little family. "Feel yourself at home," he smiled, taking off his shoes and his school blazer that he threw over a chair.

"Fat? Well I eat it all the time, do I look fat to you?" he chuckled, but honestly there wasn't a lot of body fat on Damiano. He also did have the lycan traits so he was always ravenous when he hadn't eaten for a couple of hours. Fast metabolism could be a gift and a curse at times. Rolling his eyes at the notion of the placement of where he lived he had to scoff, but he didn't take it as an insult. Far from it, as it was probably not a lot of houses that Jeremy had been to that were like this. He was probably used to mansions and giant houses.
Unbuttoning a few buttons on his shirt and rolling up his sleeves he stuck his hands in his pockets, looking at him rather surprised as he asked for a tour. "There's not a lot to see," he argued, but the nephilim seemed genuinely interested. "Alright, c'mon," he said, nodding in the direction of the kitchen that was connected to the living room. It was rather cozily decorated, some postcards hanging on the fridge and most of the pictures on the walls were either photographs or paintings of Italian sceneries. There was a TV as well, in front of it a couch that had seen better days, but it was used plenty. Pointing at some rooms, which he didn't open for privacy sake, he said were his sister's and parents'. "Toilet's in there," he said, before opening the door to his room. It was fairly clean, his desk filled with makeup and cookbooks of different kinds. He had an old record player by his bed and his window overlooked the alley where he had taken Jeremy to eat after his dog had jumped him. "It's not really much," he said, a small smile on his lips as he leaned against the door frame, letting Jeremy look around at his collection of vinyls and what else he had laying around. "But my bed is pretty good, so that's a plus," he chuckled. Being as tall as he was it wasn't often he had had a good bed growing up, but he had earned some money for himself to buy one that fit him better.

"No, my mom painted a lot before she met my father, so those are mainly places she has been," he explained. While his mother did still paint it wasn't as often anymore, perhaps because she was always so busy with the restaurant and family. "We do go to Italy to visit family every other year if we have the money," he explained before giving the tour. There was not really much to talk about, but there were quite a bit of pictures. Most of them being of Damiano, his sister and his cousins back in Italy.
In his room he just looked at his bed for a while, humming as he shrugged. "Room is limited; And I wouldn't really have the use for a couch in here," he argued, smiling as he turned his gaze back to look at Jeremy as he sat down on his bed. The question made him chuckle in return, removing his hands from his pockets, walking over to a small bookshelf, one of the shelves only containing vinyls. "This one is pretty good," he said, walking over to the record player, taking the vinyl out of the cardboard cover flipping it over in his hand before placing it down. Moving the stylus to hit the vinyl as it started spinning. Soft rocky music started playing from the speakers hooked up to it, a fair bit of instrumental going on before a male voice sang. Damiano clearly knew the song by heart, mumbling along as he wasn't too confident in his singing voice, "In the corner of the morning in the past, I would sit and blame the master first and last. All the roads were straight and narrow, And the prayers were small and yellow, And the rumour spread that I was aging fast, Then I ran across a monster who was sleeping by a tree, he sang along, moving over to sit down next to Jeremy.

Damiano scoffed as he sat down, "not shy, just don't want to ruin your experience," he smiled. Seeing how Jeremy gave in to the sound, listening with his eyes closed made him smile. Most people would just mutter a few words about the song being weird, but eventually talking over it. This felt good, but Damiano couldn't stop looking at the nephilim. If he leaned in and kissed him right now, would he even let him? Or was he just still too far in the closet to even let himself feel anything?
"It's pretty good, huh?" He smiled in a faint whisper, just looking at the guy by his side. He felt a little mesmerised, but it was safer to keep the complements to himself and not upset him like the night they had met.
