"I like it your hair the way it is," she smiled, looking at him for a while before she looked back at the screen. "Besides, if you start growing your hair to that length the girls at school might stop flirting with you cause you wouldn't know how to keep it styled," she teased him. He leaned against her shoulder, making her smile, biting her lower lip a little. Okay, she had to admit, it felt pretty good to have Kurtis here right now. She was still absentmindedly playing with a lock of his hair as he spoke again. But the notion about Jeremy being scared was weird. Sure, the guy looked a bit intimidating, but Jeremy was a big guy who could take care of himself, right?
"I'm not getting involved, no way, not if me messing around might get Jeremy disowned or some shit," she said, not even daring thinking about the consequences. Was Jeremy gay? "Has he ever had a girlfriend though?" Not that it was a clear answer to his sexuality, but maybe it was something that she had to keep in mind.

He had to suppress the smart ass remark that was just ready to slide off his tongue, because she looked at him and he actually really liked that. "Dont fucking challenge me. I will do it." he warned her but he definitely didnt have the patience for styling hair. It was just luck that his hair was as thick and wild as it was naturally, because he couldnt be assed to actually go through styling it.
"Yeah I think it's better to just leave alone." he agreed, relaxing as he had his head close enough that he could smell her, which he did. The question made him sigh before he chuckled as he remembered. "Yeah when we were like 10. And she was extremely boy-ish in every way." he said first a little absentminded, before he frowned and then widened his eyes, lifting his head as he looked at Zaira with confusion. "Is Jeremy fucking gay or something?"

Extremely boy-ish. Okay, she was not really doubting it anymore. The question made her shrug a little. "Would it change how you view him?" she asked instead, because maybe that was something to think about too. Zaira could care less about someone's sexuality, as long as they treated one another with respect, then she would gladly support anyone. "I mean, it wouldn't change for me; Although I think my mother might be disappointed because she thinks me and him look cute together," she chuckled in a teasing manner, messing with Kurtis' hair, fluffing it up as she looked at him. "Besides, if his parents aren't accepting it might be scary to even think it was a possibility."

He thought about her question for a bit, listening to her thoughts but he wasnt really doubting his answer. The way she messed with his hair made him narrow his eyes at her. "What and she hates us or what?" he asked, touching a bit of her hair. But he still had to answer, shaking his head, he looked at her with a certain expression. "Nah, he's still the same shit he always has been. Right?" he said, shrugging as it wasnt really that big of a deal. The notion of his parents made the lycan nod as he sighed deeply. "If it wasnt because they'd scold Jeremy for it, I would a hundred percent tell them that I'm very gay and proud, just to see how angry they'd get." he said, still playing with her hair that was very soft to the touch.

"On the contrary, she keeps asking about you," she said, rolling her eyes pretending to be her mother acting very over the top. "Emanuelita, ay mis dioses, how is niño? Is he eating enough? Why have you not invited him over? Él es muy guapo - Good for you mija," she went on a tangent before chuckling, feeling him touch her hair. It was relaxing. She felt her body start to trust itself more just by laying here next to the lycan. His warmth rubbing off on her, but she didn't feel like she was boiling or anything.
To hear Kurtis say that Jeremy's sexuality had no real meaning in the grand scheme of things, at least regarding their close friendship, she smiled. "Yeah, he's always going to be the Jeremy who put everything at risk to win over you at football today," she said, sighing as she looked at his eyes. Had they always been such a pretty hazel color? The notion of going against Jeremy's parents made her shake her head, "you better not fuck anything up for him," she warned him. She had grown rather close to Jeremy, viewing him as one of the few friends that she knew she could trust. But what if he didn't trust her? And what if he was already hating her because of something Finn had said? Frowning from her thoughts she just laid in closer to him, resting her head on his chest. She wasn't usually one to cuddle, but she felt like she needed someone to hold her. No not someone, she needed Kurtis to hold her.

He actually was rather surprised to hear that her mother was talking about him. It just wasnt what he had expected, especially as she had mentioned how her mother had found her and Jeremy cute. He listened to the imitation, chuckling a little as he kept playing with her hair. So he had managed to charm her mother? He felt a little proud at the thought. This was really nice, just laying here and talking. He couldnt remember if he had ever really done that with someone before.
Her words were comforting but she hadnt had to mention the fact that they had won. "Yeah, yeah, just rub it in already." he chuckled. But he had no actual plans of fucking up anything for Jeremy, which was why he just scoffed at her warning and sighed. "Chill, I was just kidding, aight?" he reminded her. He wouldnt actually do it, even if it would be funny as hell to do at least for him.
He noticed how she moved and wrapped an arm around her as she laid her head on his chest. His hand carefully rubbed her back before he made a slight yawn, covering his mouth with his free hand. "We should probably get some sleep, or you're going to get real grumpy, and I'm not saying that you are as in I am." he said, feeling a little extra tired after everything that had happened today.

"Oh trust me I'll be milking that victory forever," she smiled. He assured her he had only been kidding, and she felt like she could breathe more easily. She just didn't want some stupid prank to fuck up Jeremy's life. If he was gay, then he could risk so much if they were goofing around. If he wasn't, well then he still might feel hurt.
He wrapped an arm around her, and she knew he would be able to feel how happy that made her. How safe she felt right here next to him. This was another type of intimacy, and she had a feeling it was one that he was less experienced in. "Alright, but first you might wanna get out of your pants," she said and if he gave her a snarky remark she would chuckle, giving him a light push, "You dumbass, have you really never felt the uncomfortable feeling of pants riding against your skin while you sleep?" He had to, at least if you asked her.
If he got undressed she would snuggle up to him but not before she had leaned in and connected their lips, "good night," she whispered sweetly against his lips before laying her head on his chest. It really didn't take long for her to fall asleep, but she still had to have those vivid dreams. Only now her worries were a bit different. Her body started to feel scared as it relived what Finn had tried to do, only in her nightmare she hadn't been able to push him off.
Sitting up, gasping for air and shaking a little, she saw the sun rising over the horizon. Laying back on the mattress she tried handling her breathing, but she still felt rather shocked by her own nightmare.

Oh he couldnt wait for her to just do that. He should’ve just cheated and swooned her, maybe that would have stopped most of the bad shit that had happened tonight. But it definitely seemed like his actions had paid off either way as he felt how she was feeling safe and comfortable in his one-armed embrace. He didnt comment on it, but he definitely noted it. She agreed to sleep but the mention of his jeans definitely sparked a comment. “Oh so you are trying to get me naked after all?” He asked, serious in tone but it was just another tease of his. Her question made him shake his head as he smiled. “I think it’s different for guys. I’ve got a nice strong protective layer of hair.” He explained, thinking it might make sense.
But he sat up and got undressed, taking off his shirt too or he would definitely get too warm. He laid back down and wrapped his arm safely around her just as she leaned in to kiss him. He smiled against her lips, sighing in content before he whispered goodnight back. He was pretty much gone in a matter of seconds. He had really been that tired. His dreams were fine, at least while she was. It was when she started feeling different that his dreams suddenly turned for the worse and he didnt like that. She sat up and he blinked a few times as he was woken up too, looking at her as he placed a hand on her back to let her know he was still there. “Dont worry dumbass, you’re still here with me.” He said, rubbing his fingers gently against the fabric, knowing it would translate onto her skin. “What were you dreaming?”

Jeremy had woken up and taken a shower as the first thing. His knees were still pretty beat, he could sense some bruising but the guy at the party had taken well care of it. He got out of the shower and dressed himself casually. From his parents perspective, anything that wasnt formal was casual, so a long sleeved and some sweatpants were definitely in that category. He was greeted by the family dog outside his room, scratching her behind the ears before getting himself something to eat. He checked his schedule and realized he had no actual plans today. It was more tedious than nice as Jeremy hated standing still for too long, symbolically speaking anyway.
Keeva the dog was pretty energetic today, even though the schedule said that she had been trained and taken for a walk already. Jeremy knew that they had people to do it, but he thought he could use the fresh air too. Keeva was a golden retriever and always so playful. He got her in the harness and took her outside, walking down to the local park before he went with her. It was going fine for a while but Keeva was pulling a bit at the leash, eager to explore everything. At one point, she seemed to lay her eyes on one pigeon, going crazy in the process and breaking free as she just ran for it. Jeremy had to let go or eat concrete, which he felt wasnt a consistent diet. He watched Keeva run off, before he had to follow. The pigeon was gone as fast as it came and Keeva looked around before she realized her sudden freedom. She started running around, avoiding Jeremy, like it was just some game to her. She stopped at one second to spot the pond. This was her moment, to just get in. Jeremy could already feel how annoyed his parents would be.

Nightmares had been something new since moving to Churchill, and while they often revolved around the same people and topics, this one was clearly her body trying to work out some trauma. Feeling his hand on her back, she sighed, calming down before she laid down next to him, nuzzling her nose against his neck as she relaxed again. The safe feeling was back. It had just been a nightmare.

Damiano wasn't a very early riser, but he needed his caffeine. Or else he would be sucky for the rest of the day. After grabbing it at the local coffee shop he headed down to the park. Having bought a sandwich as well he sat down on one of the benches overlooking the pond. Birds were flocking to the water, and who could blame them in this heat? He himself was wearing a mesh shirt, showing off his body, and a pair of skinny jeans. He was still wearing the make up from yesterday, but he always felt it looked better after a night of sleep.
That was when he spotted the golden retriever, chuckling to himself as he watched it chase a pigeon around before making a bee-line straight for the water. He thought that maybe he needed to help out a bit, getting up from his seat as he started yelling for the dog, "come here," in a soft voice, waving the sandwich. He smiled as the dog seemed to notice him and came running, jumping on him and spilling his coffee on the ground, but Damiano just let out a heartily laugh as he let the dog devour the sandwich. He got a grip of its collar, looking at the name tag. "Oh aren't you a pretty girl, huh, Keeva," he said petting its head as the dog started barking in excitement.

Jeremy could definitely not keep up with his energetic dog as she ran off to only the gods knew where. Keeva would have gone into the water, hadnt a voice spoken words she understood pretty well. And seeing him wave the sandwich only sparked her curiosity. Jeremy arrived to see the whole ordeal from how Keeva made Damiano lose his coffee. But then he realized that it was the guy from yesterday. Shit! Hopefully he wasnt angry about yesterday. Jeremy carefully approached, feeling a little unsure of what to say at first. And that was weird because he knew what to say most of the time. “Thank you for stopping her. She is supposedly well behaved but someone must have slipped caffeine pills in her meal this morning.” He said, grabbing onto the leash but letting Keeva stay by the other guy; Who she had decided that she liked now.
“That was actually some dogwhisper shit, because she always go for the water and usually nothing stops her.” He said, scratching his neck a little as he felt slightly awkward. But he had a good reason to in his mind when he had been not so friendly yesterday. “Look, I’m sorry for being so rude yesterday. A lot of things happened and it doesnt excuse me being rude to you out of nowhere.”

Damiano just chuckled as the dog started licking his face, but then he saw someone approach that he wouldn't have guessed he would ever see again. Keeva jumped down from him, but still standing close, licking his fingers as if it would make another sandwich magically appear. He didn't really have anything to say, so he just picked up the paper cup that was now empty from coffee, throwing it out in the bin next to the bench. Dogwhisper? He smiled slightly at the thought, but he was also rather cautious. The way that Jeremy had reacted yesterday meant one of two things, and he wasn't sure if he felt safe enough to accept the apology. "I grew up on my uncle's farm, he has a lot of animals and they've always gravitated towards me," he just said, looking down at Keeva that he started scratching behind her ear, making her leg move as her tail wagged like crazy. He looked back at Jeremy, "but you do owe me a new breakfast meal," he pointed out. This was a way for him to see if Jeremy was genuine or if he was just saying shit as to not get called out for his homophobic wording. "Unless you have a problem with me being that?"

He nodded at the explanation, chuckling a little. “Well you saved me a whole lot of trouble by stopping her.” He admitted, his smile fading a little at the notion of trouble. Keeva was pretty smitten by the guy who had given her the rest of his sandwich so she wasnt going to leave his side anytime soon. Damiano pointed out the breakfast and Jeremy couldnt really decline, all thanks to Keeva. “Uhhh.. Yeah, that’s completely fair.” Jeremy agreed with a nod but probably seemed a little unsure. The notion that he had a problem with him made him shake his head. “No, I dont. It was really fucking stupid of me to say yesterday.” He admitted. Damiano had been nothing but kind and Jeremy knew he had fucked up. “I just never really get complimented by dudes, so it caught me a little off-guard.” He tried to explain himself but even then he felt like it wasnt enough. He sighed. “No yeah, breakfast. What do you want to eat?”

Really fucking stupid was putting it lightly, but he could see that the guy was genuinely apologetic. Okay, he could get a pass, but if things started going sour he was not going to stick around. He had come to terms with his sexuality a long time ago, he didn't need to defend it or make anyone believe what he saw as his truth. "Well I'm sorry that I found you attractive then," he said, cracking a half smile as he wasn't trying to stir up anything that might make the guy upset again. The notion of breakfast made him hum, looking down at Keeva as he thought it through. "I think I know just the spot; And our lovely lady here can come too," he said, looking back at Jeremy with a smile.
He lead them out of the park and down the street until they reached one of the streets with many cafés. People were gathering already, but he nodded down an alley and as they got to the other side they had reached a small café within a yard. Plants and cozy furniture adorning the place and he grabbed some menu cards before taking a seat in the shade. He called over a waitress, speaking in Italian with the girl who seemed to eye Jeremy a bit. "Giana, this is Jeremy, Jeremy, this is my sister Giana," he introduced the two and the girl hit her brother with one of the menus, making Damiano cackle. She took their orders before going to grab their drinks as well as a bowl of water for Keeva.
"My family owns this café," he explained, music playing somewhere in the background, just putting on a cozy setting. "Yeah, I know, I am not rich; What a shocker," he said with a grin, playing with one of his rings on his finger. He wore a lot of jewelry, but he just liked the look of it. Giana came back, placing down some drinks before she gave her brother an impatient look. "We'll have the brunch antipasti," he said, not even letting Jeremy get a good look at what it contained before handing the menu cards to his sister. She gave Jeremy another look before hurrying off. "Oh, she is having a crush on you, that is for sure," he chuckled, leaning back in his seat before he took a sip of the ice water that she had given them.
"Now my guess is that you are probably wondering how a poor person got in to a rich person party yesterday?" he said, chuckling as he ran his finger in circles around the rim of the glass. "It is quite simple, but I did not break in," he added, just to not freak the guy out. The shadow was still rather warm, but there was a bit of wind in this small back area, and they were still outside. "I have a scholarship to Saint Jules, hence why I am lucky enough to be among the elite." he said, gesturing with his hand as if he were to bow before chuckling. He was clearly just teasing, but the good thing about Damiano was that he could always carry a conversation with anyone. He could be intimidating, but he was also rather charismatic. Like he just drew in attention just by looking at you.

The apology made him scoff as he shook his head to let him know that it was all fine and there was no reason for him to be sorry when he hadnt done anything. He instead wanted to know how he could repay him for helping with Keeva. Damiano seemed to know where to go so Jeremy and Keeva just followed. Arriving at the café Jeremy did notice that it wasnt exactly big and prestigious. But maybe that was a good idea seeing that some fancy place would have classmates and they were probably so eager to assume and spark rumors - Jeremy hadnt however considered that fact at all.
They sat in the shade and that was nice seeing it was quite warm outside. Damiano called the waitress and Jeremy sent her a polite smile as he was looking through the menu. Damiano introduced them and Jeremy nodded at her, though he wasnt really sure if he was supposed to say something. As she took their first orders, he thanked her very politely, as he was just well mannered by nature, or upbringing.
The notion of his parents owning this café made Jeremy look a little surprised as it wasnt usually what a kid from St. Jules would be saying. It was usually my parents own this chain or huge corperation. "Well, it's not like you're piss poor either?" he noted as he shortly looked around. Giana came with their drinks to then take their next order but Jeremy couldnt quite make up his mind. But it didnt seem to matter as the guy in front of him made the order for them. Jeremy frowned a little confused but then he smiled, “I guess you know what’s the best here.” he chuckled. He noticed Giana's look on him but just kept it polite. "That was quick, it's only been a moment though?" he remarked at the notion that Giana was having a crush on him.
He then looked at Damiano as he seemed to be thinking that he cared about riches. But he gestured for him to go on anyway. Might as well learn something about each other. Though the notion of breaking in sounded a little funny, though it probably wouldnt have been that hard if you just dressed right. "A scholarship?" he repeated, thinking that those were not handed out. He hummed and then nodded. "So you're actually among the few that has earned their place in the quote on quote elites." he said before he scoffed and smiled.
He looked out on the people for a bit before he scoffed again and lifted his hand to cover his mouth a little as to not laugh. "I'm sorry. Uh, I just kind of cant shake the feeling that you think I care about riches like the rest of the snobs in our school." he explained, before he rubbed his jaw a little in thought. "My parents arent exactly super rich either, but they've got titles from all their hardwork. They enrolled me at St. Jules to make sure that I got the best programs and chances at making something of myself later in life." he then explained, shrugging a little as he wasnt sure whether it was expected or not. "I guess my reaction yesterday might have made me seem a lot like another rich kid brat."

"My sister can fall in and out of love over the course of an hour, so this is pretty slow for her," he chuckled, smiling widely as he clearly had a more relaxed view on things. Normally brothers were supposed to protect their sisters, right? Well he trusted Giana to do what she wanted, and that was about it. He played with an ice cube in his mouth as he saw the surprised look on Jeremy's face, pushing the ice cube in to his cheek to reply, "yeah, I guess so - not all of us were born with designer jogging pants," he said, gesturing to the ones that Jeremy was wearing. "You can't buy that quality on a waiter salary, I can assure you that," he grinned, but he didn't mind. He had gotten pretty used to people at the school being spoiled, but he had seen the hard sides of the riches too. How strict their parents made them live, as if they were just a puppet for their parents sake and legacy.
The notion of Jeremy not being snobbish made him chuckle, breaking the ice cube between his teeth, as he went in on the whole ordeal yesterday. "Honestly, dude, I don't blame you; You were drunk, hurt and I get why you might've been scared," he said. In retrospect he could see that it was more like circumstantial than actual bigotry, but one could not be too careful these days. "Hard work is commendable, but money changes people," he said, looking at Keeva as she cuddled up to his feet, smiling to himself. He really missed having animals around, but having time for full time studying and helping his parents out it wasn't too easy to take care of a furry baby as well. "She's a good girl," he said, leaning down to run his fingers through her nicely groomed fur. "I'm sorta jealous, I had a beagle when I was younger and we did everything together; Like some classic comic duo." - "How are your knees by the way?"

He looked down at his pants at the gesture, chuckling a little as he shook his head because Damiano was right. He probably only seemed more spoiled than anyone around them. He however still felt stuck in his reaction from yesterday. Damiano excused it on being drunk and Jeremy just chuckled. He was probably rather sober that night, but if he said that that would probably raise more questions than answers. "I think my parents wouldnt have been this pushy if they didnt have the same pressure on them. Imagine having done so much and then your kid just... does nothing" he said, shaking his head a little. It was obviously something his parents had ingrained in him; Be thankful, be grateful and work hard because the pressure is also on us.
As he spoke of Keeva, Jeremy leaned to his side to watch his dog. He was a little surprised as she had seemed so energetic and full of life and now she was calm and domesticated. "Well she's usually a hand-full and that's even after she's been through training and daily walks." he said with a slight scoff, leaning back to sit properly. He took a sip of his water, as Damiano asked about his knees. He smiled and adjusted himself in the seat. "They're actually doing pretty good. A little sore if I stand on them too long, but it was expected." he said, scratching his neck as he looked at the table in front of them for a bit. "It turns out that my friend was in good hands either way, so it was so silly for me to run after her and tumble the way I did." he remarked, though he wasnt regretting it.

Damiano shrugged, because he didn't really agree with that sentiment. "I think I would rather do what my parents have raised me and my sister with; The wish for us to be happy," he said in a more thoughtful tone. Maybe it was a bit rich (pun intended) coming from him, but alas here he was. "You can be a successful business man and still be miserable; But you can also be dirt poor and be the happiest you've ever been," he argued. Maybe it was a bit extreme, but he believed it to be true. Money couldn't buy you happiness, or so the saying went, and his parents hadn't always been the riches, but they were happy. "But if being someone makes you happy, then you will have my full support," taking another sip of his drink. This heat was really taking over most of Churchill, huh? Maybe he should start wearing shorter pants, but then again he liked the look of skinny jeans, so why give that up just because of a bit of heat?
The conversation continued as they spoke about Keeva. Damiano smiled at his remark, chuckling at his scoff. "Sometimes all you need is a calm person to calm you down," he said, playing with one of his rings again. He just liked fidgeting with them, moving them around to where they would be most comfortable to wear, and that usually changed during the day. The heat also meant that his body was reacting a bit, swelling up in the areas that he used most frequently. Not by a lot, but just enough for a ring to sit uncomfortable for a while. He looked at Jeremy as he spoke of his knees, smiling as he nodded. He had been rather careful trying to get them all cleaned, even if it had been pretty dark in the kitchen. He was just lucky that his vision was pretty good. "I'm glad to hear," he smiled, both to the facts about his knees but also that his friend was alright. "I hear there's a rumor that someone might have a party next week; One who wants to rival Kelsey's party traditions," he said with a small hum, but he got interrupted as his sister brought out a big plate that she placed between them. "If my brother gives you any crap, you just yell for me, alright?" she said as she looked at Jeremy with a warm smile, making Damiano scoff before she had to leave and take care of the other tables.
The plate was giant and wooden with lots of small bowls filled with different small meals. Damiano reached forward, grabbing an olive with his fingers, popping it in his mouth as he started explaining the different small bites. "This one I have a feeling you might like," he said with a smile, picking it up with his fingers. It was something wrapped in serrano, but Damiano had a playful smile on his lips, "close your eyes and open your mouth," he said. He knew that he might protest, but he pressed on, "trust me for a small second, will you?" And if he gave in he would place the serrano in Jeremy's mouth. "Chew it slowly," he said, and if the guy followed his orders he would soon be met by a sweet taste of cantaloupe that was inside of the pork. Damiano smiled, licking his fingers clean before he dug in to some of the other side dishes. "Most of it we import from Italy, at least the pork, oils and the fruits; my mother bakes everything we sell, all from the breads to the crackers," he smiled, clearly rather proud of what his family had to offer.

Jeremy had a feeling that Damiano and his parents would most probably clash if they ever met. A part of him didnt really want that, as he wasnt even sure his parents were right in the way they thought. It was enough to know that they would condemn him just for his preference alone. Jeremy hated that fact.
As Damiano mentioned a party, Jeremy lifted his brows a little intrigued. But Giana brought their food and her assurance made him chuckle. "So far he's only been nice, so dont worry about it. I promise I'll holla if I need it." he assured her, a smile on his lips before he looked at the plate and all it's contents. There was so many different things and it was very clear to Jeremy that there had been heart in the making of them. He didnt even know where to start so as Damiano presented him with a piece, he frowned a little skeptical at first. But Damiano wasnt easy to dissuade and Jeremy gave in, closing his eyes and opening his mouth.
He felt the piece and did as Damiano said, chewing it slowly before he felt the salty taste of serrano mix with the sweetness of the cantaloupe. He hummed in delight and nodded a few times as he clearly approved. "That's a good one." he remarked, before he picked out something that he had set his eyes on before. He listened as Damiano explained about the products, looking at the bread in his hand. "It is pretty good, so I can see why you'd be proud." he said with a small nod. It was actually going pretty well, Jeremy had to admit that. After a few bites, he sighed and looked at Damiano with a short analyzing gaze. "So what are your plans with your education on St. Jules? Something big and prosper?"

Damiano chuckled as Jeremy gave in and actually seemed to enjoy the food. He grabbed a a cracker and put on some other sorts of meat as he dug in himself. He was rather well mannered, but he also thought that food like this was best just shared and talked over. That was why he smiled, taking a sip of his water as the other guys seemed to want to know more. Something that he hadn't really seen coming, but anything different and unexpected was welcome. "Honestly I don't think I know yet," he said with a small smile. Maybe it was stupid for someone with an actual scholarship to not know what they wanted after graduation, but he felt like he still had some years left to decide. "I just know I'm not cut out for an office job; I like being around people and I like to host, so maybe something with that, but if I'm being real I don't think I have that big of dreams for myself," he said. It was clearly something he had thought through before, and yet he seemed rather clear in his mind about it. "It's not really an answer, I'm sorry, but as long as I'm healthy and happy then I don't think I can really go somewhere wrong on my life path, do you?" he chuckled. Maybe he was a bit of a dreamer in that regard.
Taking some bread he dipped it in some chili oil, humming to himself as he took a bite. "Ah, this is my nonna's recipe, it's so good," he explained.
Keeva seemed to wake up a bit and he shook his head at the pleading dog, "you have already eaten my sandwich, this is only fair," he told the dog that whimpered as it begged making him chuckle and shake his head. Looking back at Jeremy he smiled. "What about you? You seem to have very big plans; Let me guess a lawyer? Maybe a doctor?" he asked.

It was true that it was a little odd that someone who had a scholarship wasnt set on a path, but again, both of them were just teenagers and it wasnt like they needed to know right in the moment. "Is any of us at the moment cut for an office job?" he asked with a chuckle. Though he was probably one of those as he was expected to go for the high places. "I mean, I'd say no, but a lot in school would disagree." he remarked before he chuckled.
He looked at the oil before he drew in a deep breath. "I'm not good with chili. It makes me cry. And I dont think you'd want to see me cry." he admitted as he could almost feel the burn just by thinking about it. Keeva was of course interested but she was in all food that she wasnt allowed to have. The question was returned and Jeremy hummed as he leaned back, crossing his arms a little in unconscious defense, but he lifted a hand to rest his head in. "I honestly dont know, like if you ask me. I have all these expectations that I have to consider, but I really just want to do something mundane. Like working a calm job and then get to do whatever I want." he pondered but then he shrugged. It felt like it was pretty much out of his hands to get to decide, so there was no use in pondering further. "Yeah, in reality it's probably going to be something with law."

Damiano didn't mind that he declined the offer, because that only meant there was more for him. Hearing Jeremy actually talk about his own wants and wishes felt good, even if it was mundane, who said there was anything wrong with that? Life was about doing what you liked, not what others had planned for you. But of course he couldn't understand the pressure that the nephilim was under. "Honestly I don't envision you as a working a desk job," he said, pondering as he leaned back to get a better look at him. He was sitting a bit defensively, but perhaps that was because they still were strangers in some regard. Humming he nodded, taking a sip of his water. "Alright picture this for me; You start up your own store ... Maybe a little kiosk, you know one of those that sell bad coffee and lottery tickets," he said, as if he could already imagine it. "You have a loyal customer base, you might be working a lot of hours, but the work and money you put in to that little shop means everything, right?" he said, continuing, "in through the door comes your future partner, maybe a couple of your kids and they walk up to you and your partner wraps their arms around you, holding you close before whispering in your ear that they have set up a nanny for the night, so the two of you can go out." he had always been good at making up stories, at least for the entertainment value of it. "That is how I see that you might be happy - If you and your parents manage to see the value in success on a different scale than money and titles."

He frowned a little as Damiano admitted that he wouldnt be able to see him working a desk job. He was clearly interested in hearing what he was seeing then. "Go on." he urged him with his eyes slightly narrowed. Then he listened as Damiano went on to explain his vision. It was a little odd and specific but somehow Jeremy could picture it. He was however listening quite intently, chuckling as he seemed to go on. "It's a thorough story." he admitted before he made a sigh and leaned back. "But there is one flaw. I'm pretty sure I'm just going to be single for the rest of my life, so no partner in the picture." he remarked, scratching his jaw, still keeping his arms slightly crossed. "Besides... my parents would never.." he said while he shook his head to emphasize the big no no in that.

A flaw? Damiano frowned, looking at the nephilim as he spoke about that flaw. It was hard for him to imagine how that would be, but then he spoke again and this time about his parents. It made him a little angry, the fact that his parents seemingly had so much control over him. "Never accept you working a simple job?" he said, taking another sip of water to clear his throat, "or the fact that your partner wouldn't be female?" Okay, maybe it was a bit mean to point it out like that, but Damiano knew one of his own when he saw one. Maybe Jeremy could fool his parents and all his straight friends, but not him. "You don't have to say anything, and I won't tell anyone - it's not my story to tell - but you might wanna consider whether you want happiness or loneliness," he said, getting up from his seat. "My shift starts in a bit, and I gotta get changed - Please stay and finish the meal, my sister will serve you," he said, petting Keeva who seemed sad to see Damiano go, looking from the guy to her owner with an almost confused look in her eyes.

A simple job was among the things, but the addition made Jeremy widen his eyes for a moment before he just frowned and looked at the other guy. He wasnt really sure what to say, because even if he denied it, Damiano wouldnt believe it. He got up and Jeremy almost felt inclined to do the same, like he was being threatened and needed to defend himself now. But he remained seated, drawing in a deep breath as he shook his head. "You're wrong about me." he just said so certain in tone but it felt sour, even if he had to tell himself that it was the truth. It was just how his life was, he had no say in it. Damiano probably wouldnt get it, but Jeremy didnt need him to either. He just sat a little speechless after that if Damiano left him, finishing the meal before he paid for it, giving Giana a generous tip before heading back home.

It was a little worrisome that she had had a nightmare, but it was probably to be expected after what she had gone through. Kurtis could at least not imagine getting a lot of sleep if he had to deal with creeps the same way she did. He just let her cuddle up to him, turning as he wrapped both his arms around her. "You're safe here with me. alright? There's no way I'd let anyone do anything to you, I'd kick their ass first." he mumbled, kissing her forehead a little careful.
