The boat it was then. It was perhaps the best option, but Damiano hoped that some day a date on the lake together could be plausible. Early in the morning the little apartment was buzzing with life. You could hear music in the kitchen and the smell of breakfast lingered in the air. Zaira had been rather nervous, mostly because of the doctor needing to clear her of so many things. At least her bruises had gone down by a lot, and only her skin felt a little sensitive to the touch. Her joke with the doctor about her internal bleedings at least meant that the blood had stayed inside her body hadn't gone over well, but she had eventually been cleared. Or well, she had to mind herself to not exhaust her body and ribs, but hey, that was as good as it was going to get right now. She had of course pleaded with her mother to let her go stay at Kurtis' house. She packed a small overnight bag, just with a toothbrush and maybe a hairbrush, but that was about as complicated as she was willing to make it. She was not going to come around with a full on backpack as if she was moving in. Her and Kurtis were still taking things slow, besides the fact that they both had raging hormones that meant they liked to be physical as much as possible. Getting dropped off at his house, her driver was let through the gate and she got off pretty much at the front door. Walking up she rang the doorbell, unsure if it was the butler who would once again greet her or maybe even Kurtis himself.

By the time Zaira was there, the same butler came again, narrowing his eyes as he recognized her from a few weeks earlier. "Follow this way, Ms." he said before he guided her inside the mansion. Kurtis' mom came out from the kitchen, looking a little curious at the human girl. "You must be the girl that's here to see Kurtis." she said, blinking a few times before she made a small sigh. "He's showering, so come with me till then." she said with a small smile, gesturing to the large livingroom. She gestured for the couch while she took a seat in one of the chairs. Folding her legs she leaned back and leaned her head into her hand. It was quite obvious that she was young, probably too young to be a mother of a teenager. Her hair was bleached blonde but dark roots were showing, same black as Kurtis. "Sooo... Kurtis tells me nothing. What's your name? Mine's Alexis."

Gods, that butler gave her the creeps. But she followed him regardless, looking around for a bit as she didn't really know what to do. Did you strike up a conversation with a guy like that? She wasn't too sure. Then she spotted a young woman, she must've been much younger than her mother even, and Zaira thought that her mom was young when she had her. The bleached blonde woman spoke, and she could recognize the features somewhat. Just nodding, she wasn't trying to dig up something that could turn in to a mess, so she just followed the woman whom she presumed was Kurtis' mother.
In the living room she felt a little out of place, but she sat down in the couch, turning her eyes to look at the woman. How unusual for her to sit like that, but she guessed that it didn't really matter. "I'm Zaira ... I know Kurtis from school," she said a little hesitantly, but it was only because she could remember that voice through the phone. That almost too sweet voice that had disclosed a secret that hadn't been meant for her ears. "Uh, you're Kurtis' mom then?" she asked, because at this point she just had to be sure. Please, Kurtis, if you could just hurry up.
