A plan for the future

“It doesnt matter whos fucking who, because people will always view you both as the weaker. Mr. Parish will lose his standing too.” He scoffed. Obviously he included himself in that sentence. The disappointment was immense and Lucius didnt feel like he could recognize Romeo. Who was he even anymore? “All you kids are just investments until you make a name for yourself. And it seems that you’d rather tarnish the family name for a foolish thing such as love.” He said with a scoff. Kurtis entered, making Lucius hiss at him to get out. He looked at Romeo, still seeing a mark from the backhand. Looked like a pretty hard hit for it to still be this red. “Parish went outside so I got bored. And I heard all the bullshit you were saying, and I dont agree.” He just said, standing next to Romeo, hands in his pockets. He didnt care if Lucius would beat him up for it at some point. “This is not about you.” - “No and honestly, I do think that you deserve some of this hurt.” He said, looking at Romeo with serious eyes. Then he looked back at Lucius. “But there’s a limit.” He then said. He couldnt believe he was taking Romeo’s side, but it was like he was the only one that could right now. “You two shits have planned this, havent you? To ruin my case and lift the charges? Well it wont work!”

“I didnt do anything to her.” Lucius said and he fully believed that still. His mind hadnt seen it as Josette and he probably never would. Kurtis hummed at Romeo’s question. “Yeah he wont leave without you.” He said, looking at his cousin. “Just go. I’ll take care of the old man. Unless you’re really enjoying how things are going?” He asked, but he doubted it. Lucius grit his teeth. “Dont speak as if I’m not here!” - “Oh sorry, dad.” Kurtis smiled. “It’s hard to remember that you’re here when you can barely stand and move around.” He scoffed, making the old lycan red wit anger. Kurtis reached over and pushed his cousin towards the door if he hadnt moved already. But maybe it was hard to take the first step for yourself when you had gone so long just doing what you were told. “Go on, dont just stand there.” He said a bit more harshly.

Eden was just passing time by checking his phone. What else could he do? He noticed Romeo in the corner of his eye, lifting his head to have the lycan wrap around him. He was a little surprised by the public display but somehow it also felt very good. “So he reacted as expected..” he mumbled, wrapping his arms around the lycan, kissing his head. The notion that Romeo could help them made Eden sigh. “What strings?” He asked. He didnt want Romeo to be owing anyone any favours or something else. Some personnel went past them not long after, speaking about a young lycan having passed out a few rooms down. Eden loosened his grip to grab Romeo’s hand to head back to the car.
