Life is strange indeed

Romeo knew he had fucked up, but it wasn't like he could change it. Eden moved away and the question that followed made him sigh, "it depends whether or not he declares truce," he said in a serious tone. "Either that or he has until next full moon to kill me; If he doesn't by then, he has to challenge me again, if he doesn't then I guess no-one has to die," the rules were complicated. There were loopholes and certain things that needed to align for it to work out. Scooting himself back, he sat up, grunting as he really shouldn't be moving. He looked at Eden, seeing the vampyre he could see how hurt he was. But Romeo hoped that he knew that this had nothing to do with him. "Please talk to me," he said, feeling quite powerless in this situation. He couldn't just keep seeing Eden this hurt and not try and do something about it.

Romeo listened, looking at Eden as he felt more and more confused. Gritting his teeth he moved over, touching Eden's hand, praying he wasn't shying away. "I am serious about us, Eden," he said, swallowing as he looked at their hands. He was too badly hurt right now, he could barely feel what the vampyre was feeling. His skin burning up. "You think I'm not serious? You think I will give up so easily once I've regained my strength?" he asked, his hand grasping around Eden's, looking at him rather seriously.
"I've killed for you once and I'll kill for you again," what more was Eden asking of him? He felt tears running down his cheeks, looking at the vampyre. Did he just see him as that kid again? After everything they had been through, didn't he believe anything anymore? "Do you think I've forgotten what we promised one another?" he asked, shaking now as it was just too much. His body hurting and his heart aching. He could barely take more pain, and yet here he still was, fighting for Eden and to be by his side. "What do you want me to do to prove it to you? Kill my cousin? Tell my uncle?" he needed to know, whatever Eden wanted he could get it, "All I want is you, Eden - I've never loved anyone like I've loved you, so please stop being so cruel to question what we have!"

Romeo felt like he didn't even know what to do anymore. He was at the brink of passing out anyways, but it seemed that Eden wasn't satisfied. Only as he raised his voice he seemed to break through to the vampyre as he started apologizing. The lycan was pulled in to his arms, and he sobbed silently, his body shaking from the amount of pain he felt all over. "I don't want us to hurt each other," he whispered. That was something that Eden and Laure had done to one another, and Romeo was not going to let it slide here. He wrapped his arms around him, pulling him closer, letting him feel all of his burning body. "But I'm not perfect," he whispered, feeling his body feel so heavy. He was about to pass out. He had used the last of his energy and he needed rest. "I'm sorry that I'm not perfect." Romeo had strived all his life to be that; The perfect son, the perfect student, the perfect living being. But living beings were flawed, and it was about time he started remembering that.

Zaira was being kept in a room away from her friends and family. The doctors simply didn't trust what had happened in there. Carla was furious, scolding each staff member that walked past. She had already phoned with her lawyer multiple times, and the worst part was that she couldn't even hold her daughter.
Zaira had changed alright, but she felt weird. Her heart was beating, but it sounded so different. It felt so different. She had tried getting up, but her body was too weak to really do much, and when she had tried to eat she hadn't done a good job at keeping it down. The worst part was that the last thing she could remember was pain. She was scared. Why had they locked her in here? Had she hurt someone?

Carla adjusted her hair, breathing out as a stranger approached her, already knowing her name. She sighed, putting on a pleasant expression as she took his hand. "That is at least what we have gathered," a woman said, stepping up beside Carla. She spoke English more fluently, and would be a sort of translator as well between them. "My client is very grateful that you have show up here to right the wrongs," she said, her face stern and cold. Carla spoke Spanish, the translator and lawyer doing her job to keep the contact between the two parties civil, which was hard when Carla spoke so harsh words. "The doctors have locked up my client's daughter because they are not aware of what she has become - we would like if you could shed some light on it," guiding the vampyre through the hospital until they reached a closed off section. Zaira could be seen through a window, sitting on the bed, restrained by her ankles to the bed. She hadn't touched her food she had been given, and she had scratch marks on her neck as if it was irritating her.

Carla was clearly surprised, but she wasn't so easily swooned. At least not when her daughter's health was at stake. She agreed that the vampyre could go in and see her, but gave him a stern warning. One that it seemed only mothers could go about giving.
Zaira looked up as someone entered, clearly unsure of everything. She could smell the blood on his shirt, saliva starting to produce in her mouth. "Different," she repeated. Yeah, that was a pretty good way of describing it, looking down at her hands. "My neck feels like it's on fire or itching or something," she muttered, clawing at it as she mentioned it. Had she gotten a cold while she had passed out. Her heart was beating so fast, but she was so calm. It sounded wrong. "Everything is just ... wrong," she said, shaking her head as her hands gripped around the linen on her bed. She actually ended up tearing it, much to her own surprise. "I don't know what's going on," she said, looking at Eden with confused eyes.

No, it wasn't really on the outside that was bothering her. It was more like she had to cough. Like she needed honey to smooth everything up, but when eating seemed too complicated right now she hadn't dared asking for much. As the puncture was made, she swore her throat started burning more, placing her hand over her neck, she pressed down. But it didn't matter, it was still burning. "I'm not a vampyre," she insisted. How could she? She could hear her heart; Couldn't he hear it too? And yet her body moved on it's own, reaching out to grab the bleeding finger, yet never reaching it. Her eyes started to water, looking down she shook her head. "I'm not," she whispered, a few pink tinted teardrops running down her cheeks.

This Eden person was strange and just as cold as she imagined an old vampyre to be. Swallowing at the mention of her boyfriend, she felt fear sneak up on her. Kurtis. Blood? Just the thought made her throat itch again. Looking at the card that was placed on the small table, frowning as she listened to the strange invitation. Or was it more like a dare? Blood bag. A nurse came in, checking up on her, and she watched as Eden made his leave. Gritting her teeth she asked the nurse for a blood bag, which made her frown a lot, but she went and got her one.
Ripping it open she swallowed the blood, barely having time to taste it. It was soothing her neck and her whole body was starting to feel stronger. Downing a second bag she noticed how annoying the restrainers on her ankles were, bending down to adjust them, she ended up breaking them. Her eyes widened, and as her mother was distracted talking to the staff after Eden had left, she saw her shot.
Sneaking out wasn't going to be easy, but she managed to put on some spare clothes her mom had brought her. She made her way through the hospital, stopping as she saw Jeremy in the waiting room. Their eyes met for a second before she placed her finger to her lips. She needed him not to rat her out right now. Then she sprinted off. She had to find Kurtis. He was hurt. He was alone. And all she could think was getting to him. Of course there were a few places that she could check, the first few turning out to not be the place, but then she remembered.
There was a place that Kurtis had talked about taking her. It wasn't anywhere special, as he had put it, but it was nice. She got to the old building, looking up at the broken windows and graffiti on all the walls. No wonder he liked it here, it was so ... Edgy. Her new senses felt strange, most of all because she felt like she could pick up so many scents. But right now there was one scent she followed. Sprinting up the stairs, scaring herself with how fast she was, she reached the rooftop. And there he was. Sitting on the edge, his shoulder twisted it seemed and he had blood in his hair. She approached him slowly, not wanting to startle him. "Kurtis?"

Zaira could smell the blood. If it hadn't been for the fact that she had downed those two blood bags, she would've probably lost her sense. He spoke and she frowned. He didn't want to see her, was that it? Was that why he wasn't at the hospital? She felt her eyes water. Fuck, why was all of this making her such a cry baby? "I don't know what's going on," she said, looking down at her hands that were still trembling from how fast she had been. She didn't even dare think how crazy she must've looked right now. "I'm different ... but I'm not ... and everyone keeps telling me that I don't make any sense," she said, trying to dry her pink tears away, but it just ended up producing more. "Please tell me you still love me at least ... Just one thing that hasn't changed would be nice," she chuckled, sitting down where she stood, rubbing her eyes. She didn't even know what to do with herself anymore. Her heart was so fast and it hurt her ears. And then there was that eternal scratch in her throat that she thought would never go away. "I'm scared," she whispered shivering as she wrapped her arms around herself.

She could hear him get up. Why could she hear everything? It was all so loud! As he sat down in front of her taking her hand and telling he loved her, she looked at him. He was warm. Warm as he always was, and she could smell the blood on his breath. He had been fighting, that was clear to see with his shoulder looking so wrong. When he said she had changed she looked down. That was bad, wasn't it? How was he ever going to love someone like her now that she wasn't human? She felt like her whole world was colliding, all those tender promises made in the dark would never come true, would they? The promise to be together no matter what. She dried her face with her free hand, using her sleeve to soak up the pink tears. "I love you ... I don't want us to stop," she whispered, looking at his Hazel eyes and his messy hair. "Please don't tell me you can't be with me because of what I've become," she pleaded, closing her eyes as she was so scared. They had fought so long and hard. And that night in the apartment felt so long away, even though it had only been about 24 hours. She reached out, holding on to his hand as if letting go would mean he would disappear from her life. "I don't want us to change because if this," she said, opening her eyes to look at the lycan.

"Of course I'm dumb," she muttered, looking at him as she cracked a slight smile. When he clarified she chuckled, wiping away a few more tears as she looked at him. "Fuck, I think I'm the dumbass now," she said, getting up and helping him as well. Looking at his shoulder she frowned, "stand still," she said. How many times hadn't she helped one of her cheerleading friends pop back in something dislocated? If he trusted her she would guide him to breathe, taking a firm grasp and moving his shoulder back in to place in one fast movement. She held him there, because moving too quickly afterwards might do more damage. He would probably start feeling the blood flow to his arm more normal and the way his muscles would work to restore how it was supposed to be. Letting him go she let him adjust for a bit, looking at his messy hair that had blood in it. "You need a shower," she said, a small smile appearing on her lips as she looked at him.

Hearing him admit what he had been up to was quite shocking. He had actually tried to kill Romeo? She wasn't really sure how to feel about it, but she just nodded, letting him know she was paying attention. He didn't look good right now. While she herself looked almost perfect. No real sign of the sweat she had been soaked in earlier, even her hair looking nice after running here. She had changed, but the blood she had ingested was helping a lot. "Make a truce," she said. There was no doubt in her mind that it was how they needed to go about it. Of course she could understand he was still angry, but he had lashed out because of her, and she felt like she had a say in this. "In a truce you can come with demands; You can say if you don't want him contacting us or anything at all," she said, touching his shirt that looked so far from what he usually wore. He didn't look himself right now, but she guessed almost taking a life would do that to you regardless of your wardrobe.
"I don't want you to fight him," she said, reaching up, touching his cheek so gently, but she was clearly surprised by how quickly she was moving, even though she was trying to move slow. Breathing out in a sigh, there was a lot to adjust to. "Romeo isn't the villain here, you know that," no Romeo was just a kid like them. It was the adults here that were at fault. Kurtis' parents, Mr. Parish and that woman who had kidnapped her and changed her. "I should really get back to my mom," she sighed. She wanted him to come with her, get checked up himself and then they could go home. Or she hoped they could. "Do you have your phone on you?" she asked.
