Stay out of it

How could he say that like it wasnt going to make her stomach churn and tingle in delight? She liked the suggestion more. She moved a hand up to caress him on the cheek, feeling his skin where it was soft but also where stubble growth was making it a little rougher. She couldnt help but look at his lips a little. He had kissed her cheek. Was it weird that her mind was wandering?
But then he looked down and frowned and she looked down as well but couldnt quite see. His scoff made her frown a little. Drool? Where? He got off and went to the kitchen, to get her paper towel she guessed. But then she touched the turtle neck and felt the wet spot. Looking at her fingertips, the red dots of her blood made her widen her eyes. It wasnt supposed to leak just yet! But then she remembered how he had moved her head. The pressure on the bandage must’ve been disturbed. She felt a little panicked, unsure what to do or even go, but she instead just ended up sitting up, pulling her knees up before hugging her legs close, hiding her neck behind her legs as she put her head on her knees. This position at least kept her covered. But she felt dumb. She had messed up! Lifting her head, she opted to hide her face away in her knees.

“Bandage.” She said, taking off the bandage, placing it over her shirt. She wondered if he could smell tge blood but he seemed to take it in a calm behaviour, and not turn around like she had asked him to. She got up as he went to the kitchen, putting a hand over her neck before she went to the bathroom. Though she wish she hadnt. It was a mess. She just whimpered in frustration, clenching her hands as she felt so unable to do things right. The clergy had probably helped with the scar and now she had ruined and worsened it!

He held her and it helped a little but she really had no idea how to go on with this. She could peel out all the pieces of cotton and then there would still be a sort of gashing wound that bled and would stop at some point, she just didnt know when. The blood stench was horrible. She hated the smell of her own blood. So she didnt want to breathe that in either. He was soothing her with how calm he was about it. She felt lightheaded, her hands shaking more. For the last cotton piece that was lodged pretty deep by her own doing, she decided to hold her breath and just dig into it. She whimpered and her body jolted, but she got a hold of the piece and pulled it out. Looking at it while she was gasping for air, she chuckled. And then she did sort of loose her footing, falling back on him, passing out from the pain and the smell and not breathing.

She was unresponsive as he held her up in his arms. She could withstand a lot of thinga, if someone stabbed her or harmed her in areas that werent her neck, she would barely feel those. But her neck was her sore spot, the only place that could really hurt because it was preserved by magic to always be healing, always be a scar that would never fade. She didnt answer him at all, her mind having just shut down. Like a hard reset, she needed a moment to start over. The blood stench wasnt helping in the sligtest so it was good that he opened the window. She opened her eyes after a while, to then realize she was lying on the floor.

She hadnt expected to wake up and see him this distraught and somehow it made her feel a little guilty as she had been the one that had told him he couldnt look. How would he be able to help if he couldnt even see? She carefully reached out to touch him, both her hands rather bloody from pulling the cotton but she didnt think about that. Maybe it was about time she trusted him a little? Even if she could risk that he’d just push her away, shun her for being odd. She reached up to where he had tied the blindfold before undoing it, pulling the cloth off his eyes. “It doesnt hurt.” She said but she maybe lied a little bit then and there.

She noticed how his eyes were closed even after the blindfold was off. His question did make her rethink her choice but she wasnt really sure how he would react. “I dont want to talk about it.” She just clarified like that was her only condition, sitting up carefully with a soft groan. She decided to take the old shirt and hold it up to block his view. Then he could decide how much he really wanted to see. “You can open your eyes.”

She accepted the help on her feet, to then sit on the toilet, keeping the shirt at her neck still. She needed to tell him what to do? She didnt even really know herself. “I dont know how to stop the bleeding.” She admitted, looking away from him. Now that the shirt was covering her neck, she felt a reluctance to move it. She just had to make her mind tell her arm to relax. Not think about the reason why. She closed her eyes and just focused on that and eventually her hand slowly started moving the shirt away.
