Stay out of it

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to sound like such a jackass," he muttered, referring to their texts back and forth, wrapping his arms around her, pulling her in he just felt that need to never let go. It wasn't something he had felt unless he had been high or something. But he knew he was stone cold sober, not even having gotten any alcohol since he got clean. Strange how that worked. "I just assume it's me .. Because in the past it has always been me," he confessed. Was that really too bad to admit? Breathing out in a sigh he buried his face in to her hair, breathing her in. He had missed her a lot. Strange how he had come to crave her touch.
"I thought I had said something or done something to upset you; I thought I had fucked up the only good thing that has happened to my life in a while."

He hummed, "you don't need to share everything with me," he said, sending her a small smile, his hands caressing her back. It was strange how at ease he felt when he was here with her, and yet she made his heart beat faster. Had she put a spell on him? He could've chuckled at that notion, but then he sensed her worry. The mention of Dave made him sigh, shaking his head a little because if that was what had bothered her, why hadn't she just said so?
He briefly summarized the claims, shrugging as he wasn't even sure what to say to them. "I don't claim to know you in and out .. But even so, unless you tell me otherwise, I refuse to believe anything that weasel says," he made that very clear. She wanted to keep her secrets, her mysteries, and frankly he didn't mind. In fact it only made him want to get to know her better. "Hell, even if it was true, it's not going to discourage me from pursuing you," he chuckled, leaning his nose down to touch hers. Fuck what the world said. They always made up crazy shit about him - some of it being based in reality, but still.

"Of course I mean it," he knew he wasn't the most trustworthy person in the world, but he was trying to be honest with her. Even if it wasn't something he was used to. Feeling her fingers against his neck made him sigh, really enjoying how that felt. It was so different from anything he had ever felt, and so intimate that it did make him feel a little scared. "I really fucking like you, princess, and I don't think you could do anything to make me feel otherwise," well perhaps if she was just toying with him. He smiled looking at her, "and you look really cute right now," he admitted, feeling a bit soft, but he had missed her all week.

Her blushing? Fuck, she had better not, he might lose it. He really liked her style, it was cozy and thrifted and much different from the girls he had ever been with. She gave him a light push and he chuckled. Her admission made him tilt his head a little to the side, reaching down to take her hand. "Come with me back to my place," he said, giving her hand a soft squeeze, "I want you to meet the little guy like properly." Was he pleading with her too much?

His lips pulled up in a smile, wrapping his arms around her, swinging her around lightly. "Will you stay the night as well?" he asked, genuinely curious because he really wanted more time with her. Last weekend had really filled him with happiness, helping him get through the week. "I promise I'll try and behave," he said, winking at her before letting her go so she could pack a small bag of stuff if she wanted to stay the night.

He was genuinely happy that she had opted to pack a small bag. While she could decide to go home at any time, he really hoped that she would stay. When she came to take his hand he felt ready to leave. Getting out to his bike he made sure her bag would be fastened securely, handing her a helmet and putting one on himself.
The drive to his place wasn't too bad, but Western was slowly waking up and driving down the street that was very clear. He eventually parked outside a small convenience store, taking off his helmet and pointing upwards, "right above," he pointed to the windows where it was dark right now. It was a pretty modest place for him to live, especially if you knew how much money his family truly had. But he had wanted it simple and something low maintenance.
Leading the way around the back he showed her in through the back door and up some stairs. Eventually unlocking the door, he stepped in having her follow before closing the door after them. He placed her bag on the kitchen counter, heading further in, "buddy?" he called out. He stopped in the doorway, chuckling as he watched how the cat had messed up the pillow fort situation, now laying on top of all the soft materials. "Well, there he is," he said.

He chuckled softly, wrapping an arm around Emily as she stood there beside him. "Yeah, he's taken some time to get used to this place .. And he hasn't really gotten the hang of the litterbox yet .. But he's real cute," even he had to admit that. He had perhaps a handful of small stories already. Walking over he leaned down, scratching it on its head but ending up swatting at his hand with its paws. He just chuckled, shrugging as it wasn't a big deal. ]"I guess he tolerates me because I give him food," he couldn't imagine it being any other way, "come say hi."

The cat hesitated as Emily moved closer, narrowing its eye as it kept close watch. Rhys reached out, taking her hand and guiding it down to its head. It didn't really like pets, but as long as it was rewarded with a treat it seemed to just accept it. "I made you a promise," he argued, shrugging as he looked at the cat nudging its face against Emily's hand before it got up to stretch, heading further in to the apartment to find something mischievous to do. He scoffed, "how rude," he chuckled, standing up to look at the pillow fort, "I swear this looked much better before I left."

He felt her hand on his arm, but he was much too occupied with actually admitting to this. It was almost a little too sweet, but he also liked her a lot. "Yeah," he tried shrugging it off as if it wasn't a big deal, but it sorta was. "I just don't really have a lot of furniture .. And I guess this was perhaps more cozy than just sitting on the floor," he looked at the fort, adjusting it a bit as the cat had messed with it a bit while he had been gone. It was still standing, which was a good thing. "I just thought that maybe you'd like to just sit and be warm for a change."

Did she even have a clue what she did to him right now? He chuckled, rolling his eyes but was soon joining her, pushing her back to lay on the pillows with him over her. One arm wrapped around her body, pulling her closer to him. He wanted to have her near, moving his head down to be not far from hers, laying a little on top of her but not putting his whole weight on her either. "I still owe you that kiss," he reminded her, his free hand moving up to cup her cheek, looking at her skin as it was right now. She was a bit pate, but for someone like him he didn't really notice much else. Perhaps because he was so used to being around vampyres and daemons. "Do you still want it?" Mostly to be sure. It was just a kiss on the cheek, but it would be her first on the cheek in this chapter of her life.

Was she enjoying toying with him like this? He couldn't really tell, but even if she was, he was enjoying it. Small shivers of joy ran down his spine, making him smile as he turned her head rather delicately in his hand. Leaning closed his nose pressed against her skin first, breathing her in, and exhaling teasingly against her ear. "I've missed you," he admitted in a low tone, his breath haltering a bit as he felt almost nervous. He had wanted to kiss her all week long, and yet felt cheated. And now that he was finally getting it, he wanted to be sure it was well worth it for her. "Your skin is so soft," he muttered before finally leaning in. It was a sweet and soft peck, kissing her cheek rather delicately but also with a bit of emotion behind it. Nothing over the top or otherwise extreme, just a good and genuine kiss to her soft blushing cheek.

His breathing still a little hasty, he just held her face gently, wishing he never had to remove his lips ever again. But he did, feeling the loss of connection and it made him sigh. His greedy side wanted to lean in again, steal more kisses, feel her skin all over, and yet he didn't. Perhaps because he didn't want to take something she hadn't been giving. "You're going to do it, aren't you?" he asked in a soft sigh, staying close to her ear, his hand that was around her lightly grasping at her. Not to keep her in place, but rather to feel that closeness only she could make him feel. "You're going to make me fall in love with you."
