Healing isn't always easy | Eden

Help? The creatures eyes blinked in confusion at the odd request from the lycan. Why did he care so much for a vampyre? He wasnt supposed to. It backed off for a moment but then returned, placing a hand on Eden’s back. Frowning, it dug it’s long nails into his back, piercing the skin as if it was mere butter. “What is he to you? Not a mortal enemy?” It asked Romeo, Eden groaning in pain as the creature was hurting him with what it was doing. But hurting him to heal him? Who knew what such a creature’s intentions really could be. “Lycan blood. So much of it…” it muttered, looking at Romeo, so confused and yet… conflicted? The creature turned it’s attention back to it’s hand that was pretty much inside Eden, feeling his blood and seemingly physique. “It’s beautiful.” It whispered as it dug it’s fingers in deeper to grasp something even if it hurt the vampyre. “How did this happen? The blood? In him?”

“Just ignore it, it’s tempoary. He’s a perfect creation, he wont even remember this.” The creature muttered as it kept doing what it did. As Romeo seemed to set a boundary, the creature leaned closer to him, their faces not far apart as it examined his face. “The love is so genuine in your eyes.” It said, leaning away as it asked it’s question. It needed answers. And listen it did as Romeo summed it up. “Silver…” it muttered, finding no such thing in the vampyre’s system. Hearing that Eden was refusing anyone else’s blood made the creature frown. It pulled it’s hand out from Eden’s back, watching it heal as it should. The bloody arm disclosed that the creature had been quite deep inside as it had inspected him. “Do you really love him that much, son of Koric?” The creature asked, biting it’s wrist before lifting Eden’s head with the bloody hand. But the vampyre didnt react to the smell of blood. The creature seemed almost disappointed.

“I didnt do anything he wont survive.” The creature spoke calmly even if the lycan was panicking. It looked at him, wanting an answer for the question it had asked him rather than having to explain exactly what it was capable of doing. That seemed so irrelevant while it didnt know what to even really do yet. It listened to him and while it wasnt sure whether to believe him truly, there was no signs in the lycan that he was lying. This seemed like a delicate matter but the answer was accepted.
However Eden refusing to feed on the creature seemed so odd. It felt the hunger within him. He needed it. And yet he wouldnt. Romeo’s addition made the creature look around, grabbing the vampyre’s hand to see the ring. It glanced down at Romeo’s, confirming it in it’s mind. One unit. It pushed the vampyre off the lycan. “He will die.” It said like it was simply stating a fact. “… Is what I should say.” It added after a deep breath, moving some hair off Eden’s face. “Would you do anything to save him?” It then asked, looking at the lycan with a serious expression. It wasnt fooling around at this point. “To save your other half, your task will be simple in the groundwork, but trust is vital. Transform into your true self. And devour me. All of me. He’ll need it. And then you let him drink. Trust that his thirst wont leave you for dead.” It then said, sighing before moving away from them to touch the crystals above, looking at all the different colours. “That will save him.” It said, touching a crystal that shone in a blood red.

Anything. Then it was settled and the creature would help. Romeo seemed to agree and the question made the creature shrug. “I think I’m not so strange to the vampyre on the ground. But you only see another mortal enemy, so how would you know?” It asked, though it wasnt a question it wanted him to answer. As soon as he began to transform, the creature sat down on it’s knees, having picked the blood red crystal. Sighing it began making scribbles all over it’s own skin, vampyre lettering that seemed systematically placed. “Caemille loves all her children. She would do anything to have them live life as she intended.” It said, before it dropped the crystal and lifted it’s arms out. “Start with the heart. And make sure to leave nothing behind.” It told the big furry creature that was now standing in front of it.

The creature didnt fight him nor seemed to feel pain as Romeo pounced to attack. Eden was still not responsive but if Romeo had needed more motivation, then there was a hint of a wound on the vampyre’s back that was still healing, blood there too, his own blood. The creature managed to place it’s bloody hand on the lycan’s face before it died with the heart as the lycan ate it.
Eden did eventually wake up, feeling a little ill but it wasnt as bad as it could be. He had a weird feeling in his chest that he couldnt explain, rubbing over the lycan’s mark where the feeling seemed to be located. He then realized that he had just passed out on Romeo, feeling a sudden panic as he looked for the lycan. The stench of blood was all over the place, but so was the pheromones of what they had done before the vampyre had fainted.

When he finally saw Romeo, he felt confused. First of all was it that the lycan had changed into his true form and then it was the rather apparent blood stench all over them. But Eden didnt stay where he sat, especially as Romeo laid down in the sand. He moved over to the beast, placing a hand on him, feeling the fur, leaning in to kiss his head. “What happened?” He muttered. Had someone snuck in? But why would Romeo still be in this form then? And the vampyre swore that he had heard the beast chew, on something that was of flesh. He moved a hand up to touch the face of the man he loved. He didnt seem to mind the fact that Romeo was in his lycan form.

Seeing the garnet eyes from the lycan look back at him, he had so many questions but he knew he couldnt get any answers from him like this. It hadnt stopped him from asking anyway. He kept touching him until he changed back, though Eden couldnt say that the screams were something he wanted to hear in their cave. He looked at him again once he was back as a human, feeling the urge to pull him in and hold him. Though the lycan seemed to be a step ahead before Eden could do anything. The smell of the lycan’s blood was so appealing to the vampyre, and it was odd because it was supposed to be poison. But Romeo couldnt be well enough for him to drink again. He refused, only to have the wrist pressed to his mouth. He did try to fight it but his body felt exhausted and weak. He opened his mouth to object but the blood spilled and he had no choice but to drink. He lifted a hand to grab around his wrist, closing his eyes as he kept drinking. Wheb he opened his eyes again, his eyecolour was red like the creature’s had been, looking at Romeo as he frowned, and yet he couldnt stop. It wasnt like he was drinking as fast as he could from the neck, but his thirst seemed endless.

He could feel the lycan grow colder around his touch and it scared him. But it was like his body worked on it’s own now, slowly sucking the life of the man he loved. It felt like a lost battle from the moment Romeo forced his wrist to the vampyre’s mouth. He could feel his body grow stronger but he knew he was taking it from the lycan. Romeo’s assurance did nothing to soothe him. He felt panic spread inside him, fear that he was killing the man he loved. It took everything in him to release the lycan’s wrist to realize that he had bit down on him as well. He was panting and gasping, squeezing hard around the wound to stop the blood from flowing. With his free hand he pulled the lycan up to wrap an arm around him. “Romeo please.” He begged softly, tearing up as he held him.

Eden hid his face away in the lycan’s hair, sobbing quietly as the fear of potentially killing the lycan was overwhelming him. He wasnt ready to lose him. But he felt like he was. The wind made him lift his head and he was shocked to see all the different lights around them. Romeo’s gasp made him look at the lycan, his hand moving up to touch his face. He could feel his heartbeat on the back of his arm and he hated it. He had done this to him. The voice made him look around, until he saw the one crystal that was behaving oddly. He carefully put the lycan down before he got up to grab it, feeling how the stone almost wouldnt let it go. But he was stronger now, gritting his teeth as he did manage to yank it out of the hard stone, holding it in his hand as he felt unsure of what to do now.

Eden did move back to Romeo, feeling how their bodies differed in warmth now. Romeo felt so cold and Eden didnt like it. The voice’s instructions felt so odd but Eden drew in a deep breath, noticing how the crystal’s flicker matched the lycan’s heartbeat. Forehead, heart and lips? Eden felt so unsure of what that even meant. He just had to try something. So he placed the crystal against the lycan’s forehead, then heart and lips. “I cant lose him.” He whispered, pleading softly with the voice that he didnt care to locate right now. “I dont want a life without him.” He felt so horrible and torn, knowing that he had done this to him, he started sobbing and crying again.

Eden was sure he had gone mad by the time the voice told him to drain Romeo. He shook his head, refusing as he cried, begging for the voice to reason with him. He couldnt kill the lycan. He wouldnt! After everything they had been through, he wasnt ready to lose him. But the voice spoke again and Eden felt so frustrated with it that he grabbed around the lycan and leaned down to bite him, hearing him groan, sobbing into his shoulder as he drank from him. When his heart stopped, Eden hugged him closer, muttering soft apologies as he barely noticed the crystal. He laid down the lycan and decided that he would just sit here until the world ended if Romeo was dead.
Eden couldnt hear anything but the silence and the sound of his own crying. Until Romeo’s gasp caught him off guard, the lycan turning over, Eden unsure if he was really seeing this or just gone completely mad. Either way he just sat there looking at him, blood tears having stained his cheek, though the humidity of this place didnt let them dry. His irises were still red like blood, though the colour had darkened a little.

The call made Eden frown a little, drying his eyes and cheeks, while he wondered about his own sanity. He looked at the hand that touched the broken crystal, the question making him lift his eyes. He reached out to touch his hand, still rather warm from the blood in his system, though it would fade soon enough. What was going on? He didnt know. But he reached out and pulled the lycan in, to wrap his arms around him and bury his face in his hair. He wasnt weakened or ill anymore at this point, but he couldnt say why. Frankly the more he thought of it, the more he felt like he could have a headache.

Eden didnt say anything as he just sat there with the lycan in his arms, feeling how he was here and very much alive. One hand was pressed onto his back to feel the heartbeat coming through his ribs. He breathed him in and took a while before he eventually lifted his head and sniffled. He couldnt remember the last time he had cried this much. As a man who barely cried, it felt odd. And the aftermath of the lingering fear of abandonment and loss. He needed a moment to collect himself. “Jeg elsker deg.” He muttered hoarsely after a long while, feeling worn out mentally at this point. “We should go back to the house.” He said, though from the turmoil of feelings and everything, he wasnt even sure that there was a world on the other side of this cave.
