Healing isn't always easy | Eden

Listening he woke up a little. The serious matter of their conversation couldn't so easily be ignored, and he looked at the vampyre as he spoke, being attentive as he had asked for this conversation. The lycan had been fortunate enough to be able to digest what had happened more while Eden was asleep. Maybe he was just ahead and Eden still had to catch up to what had happened that day. He moved his hand down the vampyre's side, touching his bare skin with his warm hand. The difference in temperature always so noticeable.
However the admittance made him feel a little sad maybe. Or rather he wasn't sure how to feel about it. It wasn't like he wanted Eden only to live off of him, because frankly he didn't believe that he could produce so much blood. However he had really liked the feeling of Eden's teeth in him. But maybe the vampyre hadn't felt that arousal from him, which was fair enough. "I don't think I would be comfortable being your main source of sustenance," he admitted. While it had been quite a rush, it also felt more intimate in a sense. He sighed, closing his eyes as this was giving him a light headache. "But I did really like the bite .. I like looking at the scar on my neck knowing you made it on me," he perhaps sounded a bit unhealthy about it, but maybe it was because he had been able to feel Eden's emotions so clearly through that connection. "To be honest .. I actually felt very turned on."

"I wanted you to claim me, remember?" he reminded him, though the circumstances could've been different, it didn't change what had happened. His hand moved up, touching the patch a little, feeling his tender skin healing beneath it. "For a lycan to be bitten like this .." he said, clearly it meant a lot to him in ways that a vampyre might never understand, "well .. it's sorta like marriage .. to be claimed as a mate means you might wolf out a bit." He explained, but he wasn't sure he was doing it justice. It was something with his culture, and to an outsider it perhaps was very strange.
Eden's quick questioning of the whys of things made Romeo blush, looking down as he was afraid the vampyre didn't like hearing that. Should he have kept it to himself? No, honesty between them meant so much. "I guess because I felt needed," he admitted. He had spoken in great lengths about his need to be needed, his need to be wanted. Was this so much different? "Like .. feeling you get that rush feels very good .. it's something deep in me that's touched," frowning as he realized how it sounded, shaking his head no a little, "I sound crazy."

Romeo was pushed back as Eden moved over him. It wasn't a hard push, but it was a bit unexpected, making him blush even more at the vampyre's confession. He wanted to speak up, but he was shushed on, looking into those blue green eyes that he cared so much for as his chin was grabbed. "Eden," he whispered, feeling his heart beat faster. His body was reacting too, gritting his teeth as it felt so unfair that he was being riled up like this. But he was right. He did want this. It was something primal in him that he couldn't just explain. Perhaps it was because of his lycan heritage, the fact that it was how you claimed one another in his culture. It was a mark you could bear proudly, like a wedding ring, just more personal. His stomach felt like it was tightening up as he felt his underwear get tighter. It was a little painful, mostly because he didn't want to put any pressure on Eden. He wasn't ready for them to be like that before he had healed.
"Please don't tease me about this," he said rather vulnerably, his eyes fluttering a bit as it was so intimate of a thing for him. Sex was one thing. But this was more, and he knew it. He wanted him so badly, his eyes watering a bit as he tried not to squirm under him, "I just wish I could explain it to you better." It was a thing that couples did only when they were certain that they were mates. And Romeo bearing Eden's teeth on him was not just a matter of being claimed. It was a matter of having something tangible. Something he could show off proudly, let other lycans know that he was taken - even if it was a silly thing. It was almost like a coming-of-age thing, but for couples. Frankly it was very hard to explain to someone who hadn't grown up with the culture. "It's .. It's a signal to everyone that I'm yours; It's something that some lycans might never even get to experience," mating was for life, and few made that commitment at all these days. "I belong to you, Eden, in this life and the next if there is such a thing."

Explain how it was done? He swallowed, his throat feeling dry as Eden took his breath away with how close they were laying. Perhaps it didn't help that they hadn't been able to really be intimate in any sort of way for a while. The subsequent whisper made a surprised moan escape his lips, squirming slightly as he tried to stifle himself too. It was cruel for the both of them, but he couldn't really control himself around the vampyre. He was just so perfect for him in all ways.
He instead chose to go back and focus on the question Eden had asked him. "It's different for everyone," he wanted to make that very clear, because all families seemed to have quirks about them and had made it their own. "What I've learnt is that when two chooses to be mates, it must be declared on under a new moon, signaling a new beginning of sorts," he explained, sort of wanting it to make sense to Eden. The moon affected the lycan folk a lot, though most were pretty good at controlling their temper nowadays. "You'd state your name and declare that you wish to be mates with the other present .. Nobody has to be witness, except for Koric," and while Romeo didn't really subscribe to the gods, he couldn't deny that the lycan god was a big part of the culture. "Then you'd choose where you want your mark; Some say that different placements mean certain things, but I don't know about that," he admitted. He touched Eden's face gently, focusing on the closeness they had right now. "Once the placement was decided on, the couple takes turns biting, and the bite must be true," he said, before he realized that Eden might not know what he meant, "you aren't supposed to hesitate or second guess, because then the mark might turn out wonky and the connection may not be as strong." He hoped it made some sense. He took a deep breath, looking at those blue green orbs that were observing him rather intently right now. "Once the bites were in place, herbs would be stuffed into the marks and covered up to make the scars and so it won't just heal up."

Romeo hadn't really been able to experience whether Eden had hesitated enough as the pain from the silver had made his vision blurry. But he did appreciate hearing that. He at least wouldn't hold it against him if he had, because it had been a dangerous thing that the vampyre had done. Mentioning the silver made him hum, returning the gentle kiss. He spoke about moving, but Romeo didn't feel like he was done with the closeness. He knew Eden needed his rest, so instead he moved around so he was half laying on him, not wanting to put too much weight on him as they weren't sure how his body would react.
The wonder made him blush, moving off of him as he sat up. Biting his lower lip his hand just instinctively reacted up, touching the patch. Was Eden upset that he called it by that term? He couldn't see the reason as to why, but he also felt a bit emotional still. "I .. I wasn't sure if you were ever going to wake up," he admitted, looking down, pulling his knees up, almost curling into a ball where he sat. It was still hard for him to even think about. He had kept up his hope, he had needed to do that to survive this, but his worry hadn't been far behind. "I wanted it to be your mark; I still do, because it has meaning .. you saved me, you got the silver out in time and without that I would've died that night," Eden had saved his life. Not just then, but with the pills as well and even before that. Maybe the vampyre didn't know that, and that was fine, but this was finally a sign of the love they shared.
"I was offered seraphim tears by the doctors to make it heal properly without scarring, but I turned it down," he admitted, but that was pretty clear at this point with the scar being so visible. "If you were going to die in that hospital, I wasn't going to remove the scar .. I couldn't .. I just .." he trailed off, tears running down his face. It was all so confusing, all of these emotions. He was saddened by what had happened, but also so happy that they were here. He could hardly feel what was up or down anymore, as if his center of gravity had shifted in some way.

The touch provided by the vampyre was soothing. He could feel that Eden was alive with all the emotions he had, but he also hadn't been there when all he could truly feel was nothingness. Just an empty void that he couldn't even begin to comprehend. He hadn't died, but what Romeo had seen hadn't been easy either, so he moved down, laying up close to his love and let himself entangle in him. He pressed his nose to his skin, breathing him in, just wanting to feel how alive and here he was. "I don't think I could live in a world without you," he confessed, and while it was a scary thought for sure, he had had those dark thoughts. Eden was the love of his life and a world without him would be bleak and dull.

How he eventually fell asleep he wasn't completely sure. He probably passed out from sheer exhaustion, holding the other so close through the night, though he did allow Eden to move if he had to.
Waking up was the start of a new day. Romeo knew he had to get up and start prepping for his exams, but it wouldn't hurt just to stay a little longer in bed, would it? He felt so safe here, surrounded by their mixed scents on the bed.

Safe to say, Romeo might've found it hard to wake up and see Eden sleeping, so he happily reciprocated the kiss, feeling his heart beat a bit faster. Opening his eyes as their lips separated he looked at the vampyre a bit tired, but he would get over it as soon as he was up. However he wanted to stay here in Eden's safe embrace. "Good morning," he muttered, his own voice a bit hoarse as well. His hands moved calmly along the vampyre's sides, slowly waking up and seeing the color on Eden. He looked better, not completely himself, but much more than how he had looked yesterday.
"Did you get some rest?" he asked, just touching him gently, wanting to feel all of him as he was right now. Romeo felt like he needed a shower for sure. His eyes felt a little dry from the crying yesterday, and he also felt like he still reeked of those girls and how they had clung to him.

He had to admit he felt a bit relieved by the fact that Eden had managed to at least get some rest, seeing how both of them had needed it dearly. The gratitude made Romeo look down, smiling almost shyly. He knew Eden was still torn about this, but he wanted to make sure that the vampyre didn't think he had hurt him. Sure, the first bite had been scary, but that was only fueled from the fact that he had thought Eden would die then and there. Right now he was just happy he had tried it, otherwise he might've not been able to make it through the night. "I would do anything for you," he said, looking back up at those grateful blue green orbs that always greeted him with such tenderness.
"Do you want me to go get you some cigarettes?" he smiled softly, nuzzling their noses together in an attempt to be a little cute this early. He didn't really know what time it was, but judging by the light coming in, it wasn't close to midday at least. "There's a reason I wanted this apartment; The balcony connected to the bedroom just was so fitting to our needs," he said, just looking at Eden right now.

"I can't really rest; I do have a final exam coming up," he sighed, pressing himself closer to Eden as it was clear he didn't want to get up yet. When had he started becoming so soft? Back when he had met Eden he had been so cool and collected and now? Looking back at it the vampyre had truly broken down all of his walls, and he was able to be truly raw and emotional around him. Eden wouldn't judge. In fact, sometimes Romeo wondered if the vampyre actually really liked seeing this side of him.
He just laid there for a little while, smiling like a fool in love as he felt the vampyre's almost warm cheeks from having slept so close. It could still surprise him how it felt like that. Eden saying he felt good made him hum, blinking a bit slowly as if he was considering just going back to sleep. However he couldn't waste too much time. "I'm happy that you actually got a whole night's rest without pain," he said in a small sigh. It had done so he slept better as well, not waking up every hour or so to the vampyre writhing in pain. "But first thing today is coffee," he sighed. He had gotten quite the coffee addiction at the hospital as it had helped him stay awake at the nights when he was certain Eden was going to wake up. Only he hadn't. But he couldn't think of that now or he would start getting sad, or perhaps even spiral.
"How about .. I finish up with this assignment for my exam, and we spend tonight in our new garden?" he suggested. It wouldn't be too wild, would it?

"I'd like that," he smiled, feeling like this was so homely. It truly felt like this was the life they could lead, waking up together and getting ready. There were of course a few things they would need to sort out first, but alas this was a start.
The suggestion to enjoy their new garden haf been sort of on a whim, but Eden seemed to like the idea, the question making the lycan nod. "It's a relatively easy thing to do together," he shrugged, though it would be a lie to say that he didn't enjoy it. Stargazing with Eden was something else indeed, "besides, just because you feel better now, I don't want you atraining yourself, alright?"

Overboard. Yeah that was perhaps a good way to describe their behaviour. He sighed softly, humming as he then came up with quite the suggestion. It would be a test for sure, because they had always been overwhelmed by need when they spent time like that. Not that Romeo complained, but perhaps it would also be nice to experience something that didn't turn sexual right away. Of course he would always have his high libido, but showing restraints could prove valuable to them.
The urge to go get ready made him chuckle, leaning in to steal a final kiss before he truly got up. He moved to the bathroom, opening a few cupboards before finding where the towels were. Him and Eden didn't have a lot of clothes now either because most of it was back at the mansion. Perhaps his mother could pick it up? Though he doubted those vile kids had even kept it. It was probably thrown out already. Sighing he knew that it meant that they would have to go shopping, but in hia cureent condition maybe that was a bad idea. He would however remember to suggest shopping online as that was a safer option. Luckily Churchill was a big country, so of course they didn't have to spend their lives hiding. Besides that, once Eden had regained his strength, Romeo was sure he would want to confront those kids.
Removing his patch, he got into the shower, letting the cold water run down his body. It felt very nice, especially considering how dirty he must've been. He at least wanted the smell of hospital out of his nostrils. Afterwards he dried himself off, wrapping himself in a robe as he wasn't quite on the level where he felt ready to walk around naked. While he was drying off anyways he found some relaxing clothes, mostly because it was nicest to study in and it would also have a loose fit to make him less self conscious.
Getting dressed was fine, drying his hair one more time before he went to the kitchen where Eden would hopefully be. He smiled at the vampyre before he seemed to remember something. Going over to his bag he fished out Eden's personal belongings that he had had on him when he was submitted. He had gotten his ring back, but he wasn't going to hold on to his phone, nor the half smoken pack of cigarettes and car keys. "You could go try a cigarette while the water is running through?" He suggested with a soft smile. He wasn't going to risk smoking as it would surpress his hunger.

The tender kiss on his forehead made Romeo a bit surprised, especially as he felt the longing from the vampyre. He actually only remembered to breathe as Eden left for the balcony, taking a few deep breaths, trying to calm down. Maybe this restraining wasn't going to be too easy. Trying to reel in his emotions, he opened the fridge, taking out an egg and some avocado. It wasn't like the biggest breakfast, but it was something he could eat and get some protein and fat in him. While the egg was cooking, he slowly took a spoonful of yogurt. It was easy consistency to manage.
Once he had eaten, which was relatively slow, but hopefully before Eden returned, he put the dishes in the dishwasher before pouring himself a cup of coffee. Liquids were easy for him to consume at this point, so he didn't really think about it too much. He went and joined the vampyre on the balcony, looking out at the view with a soft smile. "I feel like this is a bit unreal," he admitted, scoffing as he looked down. They were a fair bit up in the air, their small garden laying beneath them with a nicely trimmed lawn of grass and even a few bushes. "Do you want flowers in the garden?" he asked, maybe because at the mansion the flower garden was very nice and he wondered if Eden wanted that here too. "I'm not really much of a gardener," he admitted, no he was better suited at a desk with a lot of files in front of him.

He felt a bit relieved as Eden disclosed the fact that he could manage it. He took a sip of his coffee, moving his eyes back on the city. The view was decent, you could see High Street from here with all the bustling business people and the cars driving around. It was comforting to him in a sense. While Northern had been peaceful, Romeo had always longed for a life in the city. He felt more comfortable here, even if there were a lot of people around, it was just closer to everything. Maybe that was why he found it so strange that he had really liked that small town that they were now fondly calling theirs.
The question made him scoff, though he shrugged softly as he wasn't sure what it was. "I don't mind dirt, I just find it tedious to wait for something to grow I suppose," he admitted, smiling as he probably did sound like a brat in that regard. No patience to do anything that didn't have an immediate reward, and yet in other instances he had plenty of it. His mind was strange, but he supposed he couldn't really change that. "My mother tried getting me into it once, but I couldn't understand how low a seed should go or how to fix the roots so they were safe in the ground," he looked out at the city as his eyes grew a bit distant. "I guess I couldn't really focus with everything going on back then."
