"And if I can see your shadows, then I know what to do, what to say and how to comfort you," she said, smiling as her kisses moved up his cheek, nuzzling her nose in to his hair and breathing in his scent. "In this weird world of gods, goddesses and mystical creatures we found each other ... And I'm not letting you go now that I have you," she confessed in a soft sigh.

"You really dont have to thank me for that," he assured her with a small smile over his lips before he felt her lips against his. He made a small sigh and just took a moment to feel her lips before the kiss broke off. Her whisper made him chuckle faintly which sounded more like a scoff because she was right. He had called her his light so many times over and it was because he believed she was the one who could pull him from even the darkest thoughts in his mind. "I really am the lucky one here," he said in full confidence, leaning away to look at her as he lifted a hand to place against her cheek. He shifted between her green eyes and watched the bright flame behind them before he made a deep sigh. "I cant say what will happen from here, but I promise to be here for solstice. For you and for our daughter," he said but in his mind it was only the least he could do. "It might not be as we both hope it to be, but at least I'll be there and be with you both," he said with a sigh. The thought of doing something that he would come regret was still lingering in his mind, but he did feel a little more courageous now. Maybe it was the effect of being so close to the one he had bound his soul to.

Buffy was just taking this moment to breathe in, feeling his hands move along her body just helped her calm down that more. All of that tension she had felt, all of those lonely nights were gone in this moment. Erased by the fact that the one she had been longing for was by her side. She didn't know how to feel when he promised to be there for solstice, mostly because she worried that something would go wrong and they would be left sitting and waiting. It was a horrible thought, but she couldn't let herself get carried away by this promise, although it did make her smile. Buffy loved this family, and she was sad that Baal had been pulled away from it for so long. "I think that would make Saoirse very happy," she whispered, smiling softly, but she wasn't going to tell their daughter anything yet. Looking at his exposed torso, she wondered if she would ever get to follow every single line with her fingers, but perhaps not. "We really should get dressed ... I have to prepare dinner," she sighed, groaning a bit as her body felt a little sore. He had been hitting all the right spots, but they both had been so eager, that she could still feel her walls being expanded. Sitting up with a slight whimper, she gave him a warning gaze. She knew he loved seeing her like this, but it could also make him want to grab her and do it all over again.
Getting to her feet she was a bit unsure on her feet until she felt like she had regained some balance. "Why do you always want to reach so deep," she sighed with a slight chuckle, not that she was complaining. Gathering up her clothes, she got dressed once more, her body still a bit sore as she sat down on the edge of the bed to put on her socks.

Just then the front door swung open, Saoirse came running through the hall. "Don't talk to me Amos," she yelled, running to her room before she slammed the door after her, locking it.
She had seen him down town, seen how that girl had her arm in his, how they both seemed to be smiling and joking, and how her stomach had cramped so badly from seeing it. Connor had barely been around, he didn't say why, but deep down she knew. And now Amos too? Was she losing them like she had feared? Had she actually been holding on to them too hard? As much as he just wanted to lie around and feel her closeness, she was right; They did have to get up. It was uncertain when Saoirse would be home and surely the last thing she wanted was to discover that her father had returned to only stay in bed with her mother. He sighed at her remark and shrugged. "I cant help it," he said with a sly smile over his lips, but got up to get dressed to. He barely managed to slip into his pants as the door opened and he heard his daughter yell, followed by Amos trying to explain it all in a desperate voice. He frowned a little and pulled his shirt over his head before he went out in the hallway to see Amos bang on the door while he was begging Saoirse to open up. "Please, it's not what you think. Come out and let me explain dammit!" he begged in desperation. Baal walked up next to him, knocking lightly on the door. "Saoirse, please come out," he said, though he wasnt sure how he was going to react when he saw her. He just had to shove whatever feelings that would come far down to where he wouldnt feel them.

Buffy heard the commotion, stepping out in to the hallway with Baal, seeing Amos all riled up. Unsure of how to proceed, she decided to go out to the kitchen and put on the kettle. It wouldn't help if they were all yelling at her, but she would come help if something went wrong.

Saoirse felt tears escape her eyes, running down her cheeks and ruining the make up she had been wearing. She didn't wear make up often, but on days when Amos or Connor was coming over she always dressed up a bit. Then she heard her father's voice, frowning as she thought she might've misheard, but no. She knew her father's voice too well. Pushing herself to her feet, she turned around to face the door. "What are you doing here?" she asked through the door, her emotion rather vague, but there was no spite to be found. Much rather it was confusion. He had been gone for so long and she had lost all hope that he was ever going to get back. She shook her head, touching the door handle. "Go away both of you!" she cried, slapping her palm against the door, but only to realize how much that hurt. She paced, walking over to her bed and sitting down. She was in distress, but she had no right to be. Amos had said it himself, he was free. Connor was free too. But why did they both have to leave her at the same time? Couldn't they have eased her in to it first?

Buffy sighed, coming out from the kitchen as she looked at Baal and Amos with a small sigh. "She'll come out when she's hungry, which will be as soon as I start cooking," she said. She didn't know what had happened, but she assumed that neither of them would leave until this was resolved. "Amos, come help me in the kitchen," she said, smiling at the daemon. Buffy didn't pretend to be anything but a friend to him, she had never given him any orders, but she was also really good at reading his body language. Right now he was probably unable to do much else than be sour, but he just needed time to think through his emotions.
If Amos did as she suggested she walked over to Baal, taking a spare key from her keychains and unlocking their daughter's door silently. "Go sit with her," she said. Saoirse rarely needed to be lectured, but Buffy had found that just sitting with the girl she would eventually spill everything that was wrong. Buffy returned to the kitchen, keeping her and Amos busy as they prepared food.

It wasnt the best way to announce his return but he thought it might make her come out and talk. "I'm home for a day or two, so that's why I'm here my little light," he explained, but maybe it was better to save all that for when she decided to come out. Amos frowned and shook his head. He opened his mouth to say something but Baal's hand on his shoulder made him close his mouth and just make this sour expression instead. He looked at Buffy as she came out of the kitchen, sighing deeply. She was right but he felt like the longer there would pass the more the problem would just grow. He already felt bad that he hadnt told her before and that she had to find out this way. He shrugged the summoner's hand off of him before he went to join Buffy in the kitchen.
Baal looked at the key that Buffy used to unlock the door before he mumbled a quiet thank you and looked at the handle. He made a deep sigh and carefully opened the door to peak his head in. "Is it okay that I come in?" he asked because the last thing he wanted was to intrude on her. If she allowed him, he'd enter and go to sit next to her. He was feeling the intrusive thoughts that the natural urge to just harm her was just there, but he was trying to think of it as the fact that she was his daughter and in distress. He carefully reached out and grabbed her hand to hold it, unsure if he was supposed to say something first or if she'd rather have the opportunity to ask first. But he quickly thought that just saying nothing would make her feel like he didnt care. "I know I've been gone for a long time. Truth is, before you were born, something happened. And I feel like as much as I cant tell you all of it, I can tell you some," he explained, looking at their hands. "A man wanted to take you away from us, if you were born with the same marks as me. And neither Buffy and I wanted to lose you. He wanted to punish me for loving your mother and forced me to swallow an artifact that came from the Abyssus itself. And ever since, things just havent been what we hoped for," he explained, hoping it was shedding some light on her confusion. "I'm trying to figure out what's happening to me so I dont end up hurting you or your mother,"

"I'm sick of it. Being painted like a villain when it's not even something I've chosen. She thinks I really want to be with someone else?" Amos hissed, drying off some dishes to keep his mind busy.

Saoirse just whimpered a silent yes, but luckily it seemed like her father managed to hear her through the closed door. She knew her mother had an extra key, because she wasn't really supposed to lock herself in. As her father sat down beside her she was still sniffling, wiping away her tears as she was contemplating what to do. However as soon as he placed a hand on hers, she leaned against his shoulder, closing her eyes as she cried softly. She had just missed him. She didn't care that he was gone, she was just so confused, and with everything with Connor and Amos, she was really starting to think that she was unlovable. That no matter who it was in her life, no one was ever going to love her, that she would eventually push people away. Her crying died out, just sitting with her head against her father's shoulder, letting him hold a hand over her own, listening to him speak. It was all a lot of information for her to take in, and honestly she wasn't sure if she understood it all. People hurting her? Wanting to take her away? She had never heard about that, but Baal's words about hurting them made her look up at her father with teary eyes. She had inherited a mixture of Buffy and Baal's old eye color, her cheeks a little puffy from crying, but she was looking rather seriously. "I thought you didn't like me," she whimpered, beginning to cry again as she nuzzled her face in to his chest.

Buffy sighed at Amos' words, but she had spent enough time around him that she knew how he felt for her daughter. It didn't make it less strange, but honestly seeing the joy the two of them had when they were together was just something else. Of course there were a lot of things wrong with what they were doing - at least considering societies norms - but Buffy believed that Amos was treating her daughter well. "She's very insecure, and from what I've heard from my aunt, Connor has found a girl he's seeing a lot ... It has really taken a toll on her," she sighed. How many nights had Buffy not had to get up in the middle of the night to comfort her crying child? A child that was not crying because of hunger or an injury, but from heartbreak. "She's been trying to give you guys space, but with Baal gone most of the time, she's afraid to lose more people ... The other night she asked me if I would ever leave her," Buffy said, feeling her emotions choke a bit in her throat. It had hurt, because Saoirse had been serious in wanting to know. The girl was lonely, she wasn't good at keeping friends, and as far as she knew, some of the kids were starting to distance themselves from her because of her smarts.
