The Aftermath of Love and Betrayal

Romeo tried to be on his best behaviour, he really did, but as she implied that Eden was taking advantage of him he couldn't help but frown. Sure, he wasn't sure how old the vampyre was, but age shouldn't matter. Right? He sighed, going back to his books that he eventually fell asleep over.
The next morning he went about taking the test. It surprised him that he did so well, but alas he hoped that the talk with Kareema yesterday had helped. But he still hated the fact that she saw him as a misguided boy. He wasn't. And he wasn't wavering on that. Managing to send a supply of tears and seraphim blood to the doctors had taken some negotiations, but in the end it had happened. Right then he was sitting in the living room, reading a book as his eyes threatened to cave in and let him sleep.

Romeo knew that by now his uncle had got the news, and like anything true Trevino he didn't tak no very well. The young lycan had been busy, not only with school and work but with making sure there were a steady supply of blood and tears coming to Eden. Luckily he didn't have to think about payment as the doctor took care of that. Walking past his uncle's office, he stopped as he heard the hissing. Sighing he knocked on the door before entering, "Sir," he said as a polite greeting, entering holding a piece of paper. "I really don't want to bother you, I know you are a busy man, but could you perhaps sign for the weeks off I'll have during the month of solstice?" He came closer, placing the papers down. He wouldn't want to burden him more, but his mother had been asking, and he knew that the mood his uncle was in, the conversation the two siblings would have wouldn't go well. "It's three weeks, I've checked with everyone else, but you have the final say," he said quite respectfully.

Romeo thanked silently for the paper, picking it up and folding it neatly. At least now his mother might stop bugging him. He sat down at his uncle's request, listening carefully as he spoke about Eden. Oh how things could've been resolved so much easier if he could just say everything now. But he didn't. And perhaps that would come to bite him in the ass later on, but for now he felt it was safest to remain quiet. The questions made sense to ask, because viewing it from the outside it wasn't easy to understand. Romeo hummed, folding his hands in his lap as he thought about it. "Mr. Parish is a conundrum to me as well," he had to admit, and that wasn't a lie. The vampyre was complex and there seemed to be many secrets hiding within him and his mansion. "While I won't pretend to understand him, perhaps it stems from the fact he is a vampyre?" He said, looking at his uncle. It was clear both of them were quite comfortable in one another's company. "Don't misunderstand me, but how many times do we not see immortal beings make decisions that make no sense to us mortals?" He shrugged, maybe he was generalising, but it wouldn't matter in the end. "I hear the death in his family took a great toll on him ... he is now the sole heir to his family wealth, so perhaps it is just a matter of bad timing?"

He got up at his uncle's gesture, but he felt a little at a loss. "Would you like me to go see him?" He asked, as it was a good excuse to actually just see Eden without having to sneak out and do it. "He did seem to take a liking to me and my work ethic, perhaps I could persuade him?" He suggested. Romeo knew what him and Eden had agreed on, but his uncle seemed too clever as to not catch on. "It wouldn't be a hassle for me, I have caught up quite well with both work and school - in fact I am ahead at both subjects heading in to my winter exams," just to ease his uncle in to the thought.

He nodded, "I know, sir, but there is no harm in trying," he said, though Lucius knew how willing Romeo was to aid the firm. He had been taught to stop at nothing. Having gotten his uncle's blessing he packed a small bag, along with a copy of the contract that had been proposed. He got a hold of a driver who would take him there shortly, informing his uncle that he would return as soon as possible. And that he didn't want to let him down.
Heading off he soon came in to the driveway of the Parish Mansion, getting out he thanked his driver, informing him to only come once he had called for him. Up the stairs he went, standing at the front door where he knocked gently.

"Thank you," he told the servant, sending her a gentle smile before heading out to the gardens. "What are you doing out of bed?" He demanded to know, feeling his temper run off with him. "Are you incapable of following your doctor's orders while I'm not here to keep tabs on you?" He asked clearly frustrated.

Eden embraced him and he sighed, fighting back at first before giving in and returning the hug being rather careful. "At least tell me you are getting your supply of blood and tears just fine," he said, pulling out to look at him. He lifted up in the vampyre's shirt, sighing, "it needs changing again," he said, calling for a servant to prepare it.
"I'm afraid I'm here under rather dull circumstances, " he said, explaining how his uncle had reacted at the refusal. "I do not know how to go about all of this," he sighed, sitting down as he rubbed his eyes a bit. Everything was just so convoluted.

Romeo looked at the vampyre as he sat down, wondering how he was. He knew he could just ask or feel it out, but he had a feeling that wouldn't give him much of an answer. "I volunteered," he said, taking out his packet of cigarettes, bumping the bottom of it to make one pop out. Placing it between his teeth he pulled it out, lighting it and inhaling deeply. Breathing out he looked up at the sky. The weather was at least nice today. "A good excuse to see you," he said, leaning back in his seat to have a better look at the vampyre. How he had missed him. "And I've been aching to see you," he finally admitted, a soft look in his eyes as he reached over, taking the vampyre's hand in his, just holding it and feeling his skin.

Looking at their hands he wondered if there ever would be something more right than this. "You wouldn't dare ... I just got signed off on those three weeks near solstice," he said, smiling as he just looked at the way the cold thumb caressed his hand. "I know I shouldn't get my hopes up, but I still count on you healing to travel by then." Maybe he was naive, but in his mind he couldn't imagine breaking their plans.
"My uncle hopes that me being here might make you change your mind," he said, though he hated discussing work, it was hard with them being tied together. "He feels betrayed and confused, seeing as he has known of you for some time," he explained, breathing out he looked at Eden. "We Trevinos always get what we want in the end, and I hope that perhaps you could set up a meeting with him ... maybe explain why you have denied the offer," he said.

The truth. It was as if it was starting to snowball for the lycan and he sighed at the question. "Frankly it is your choice," he said looking at the vampyre's lips. "But you declining makes no sense at all ... My uncle proposed a rather generous deal for you, and denying it seems odd," he said, getting up, snuffing out the rest bit of his cigarette before leaning down over Eden. Their faces not far from each other, he looked him in the eyes. "I don't want to ruin anything for you, and we both know you would've taken that deal if it hadn't been for my involvement with you," he spoke quite frankly, leaning down to connect their lips gently. "If you don't accept I might have to come out about the two of us sooner than I'm ready," he whispered against his lips, "and yet if that is what you wish, I'll do that."

Eden assured him of a solution and Romeo nodded, feeling the cold hand against his cheek so calming. However he couldn't help but chuckle at the urge, "you tell me enough about work and that doesn't leave much else to talk about," he chuckled softly. He leaned in, kissing him once more, but that was the limit for now. He couldn't have either of them getting ahead of themselves. Moving over, he sat down next to Eden in a chair. "But I am preparing for my winter exams right now," he said with a small sigh, smiling as he clearly wasn't nervous about them. "I'm afraid it's just standard testing, so nothing new and exciting."

"I am," he said with a small chuckle looking out at the garden as Eden tended to his patch. He asked about school and he hummed softly. "I like learning ... I love letting my brain do all the work and work out puzzles, even those I set for myself," he said clearly thinking about his choices in words. He turned to look at Eden, seeing how the wound was still leaking, but not as bad as last time he saw it. "I like making sense of things, making order ... I like feeling like I understand and can discuss as many topics as I can," he said, closing his eyes as he turned his face up towards the sky.
"I've been dreaming mostly of you," he confessed, "dreams so mundane that I wake up and are almost disappointed in my own creativity." Scoffing he chuckled, opening his eyes to look at his ring. "It's quite silly, isn't it? But I suppose that I have to do all the dreaming for us."
