The Aftermath of Love and Betrayal

"Yes, could you imagine," he chuckled sighing as he thought about it. A domestic life. It sounded almost laughable. And yet with Eden it seemed like it was good. "Oh stop it, you know I only mean it in jest," he said, smiling as he felt his interest peak. "But do indulge me in your daydreams ... now that you have heard how boring my dreams are yours are sure to be interesting."

Romeo smiled, it truly felt so easy to smile when he was around the vampyre. "Alright then," he said, getting up. He felt a little restless, and standing felt better when he was about to divulge him in his dreams. Taking a deep breath he looked at the garden before speaking, "my dreams always start out the same way."
He described a scenario that was almost perfect. How Eden would wake him up, them sharing a passionate morning kiss before going on with their day. How sometimes they took the pleasure of working from home, having lunch together and once the day's work was done they would make dinner together. No servants, just the two of them playing around in their kitchen. "And when it was time for bed you would insist on giving me a kiss goodnight that would soon enough end in the two of us melting together," he sighed.

"Well I would hope we don't become boring married people with no sex life," he scoffed, frowning as he looked at the garden. His expression softened up as he turned to look at Eden. He apologised and he simply shook his head in response, but then Eden went on to explain another scenario. He chuckled, watching how the vampyre clearly was somewhere else in his mind. "You sure would make a great husband ... How come you aren't married? You must be swarming in suitors," he said in a ponder.

He moved closer to Eden, not wanting him to strain himself. Romeo didn't know why, but Kareema and his uncle had all been hinting at something. And perhaps that was getting to him. He couldn't help but smile as he clearly described him, but looked more seriously at the question, glancing down at their hands. "I guess I worry that I'm only interesting because I'm young," he confessed. He knew Eden wasn't like that, and yet he worried still. Perhaps because all everyone ever talked about was how young he was or how well mannered. "I don't doubt what we feel about each other right now ... But you live forever and I ... well at some point I might not be beautiful anymore," he said looking down. It was weird for him to thing of such things. He was so young and yet he worried about growing old. Especially because Eden would never change. They simply couldn't grow old together. "I am fully committed to you, but I also do not have to worry about you growing grey hair or having aching limbs," he scoffed, closing his eyes. It was clear it was something that had preoccupied his mind quite a lot.

He followed him inside, sitting down in the couch with him, listening as the vampyre went on to explain his plans. It was almost absurd, thinking so far ahead, and yet there was comfort in it. "Children? So you want more than one child," he chuckled softly, even though he knew that it was just a small thing. Listening seemed to calm him down, and yet the thought of Eden being left behind did hurt to think of. "Alright ... Alright," he muttered, holding the vampyre's hand, feeling it slowly warm up. "I think your daydreams win," he chuckled.

He felt pulled in, sitting close to the vampyre he had missed a lot. He scoffed at the compliment, shaking his head a little. "I think I'll grow in to quite the handsome man as well," he said, rolling his eyes as it was clearly something he had heard quite a lot. "You recall miss Acton the night you so foolishly ran after me," he said, because mentioning her now might be good. He spoke about how she had come by his uncle and how she had basically challenged him. "I don't know what to make of her," he sighed.

"She only warned me about you," he confessed, "perhaps implying that my only worth as of right now was my wits and boyish charm." While it was clear it had effected him then, the reassurance of Eden had helped him cope quite a bit. "Who is she to you anyways?"

What Eden spoke about made a lot of sense, and yet he wondered why Kareema felt it was her place to guide him. "She knows my uncle quite well it seems," he remarked, leaning his head back against Eden's shoulder, just enjoying his embrace. "I just hope that she keeps her mouth shut for now ... I need 6 months before I can reveal everything and I fear she won't give me that long," he muttered, turning his head to look at Eden's neck. Leaning in a little closer he placed a few pecks against his neck, sighing against his skin. Gods he loved his smell. "Besides, no matter how tedious it feels to keep all of this secret, I do like the fact that we have time to get to know one another better without anyone suspecting," he confessed. Perhaps that was silly too, but it just felt right that way. "Now, what did the doctor think? How long might your recovery be if everything goes well?"

Speaking about Kareema didn't seem to soothe his worries much, but he supposed he had to trust Eden in this. He was seemingly more aware of how she behaved regardless. The doctor on the other hand made him chuckle, "now you are sounding more like your age," he teased softly, closing his eyes, humming as he was listening still. The fact that there wasn't much to do made Romeo worry. "I wish I could do something, because in part it is my fault," he whispered. For now Eden seemed stable, but he couldn't help but wonder how much pain he was truly in. "Wouldn't it be possible to put you through dialysis? Circulate out the bad blood and replace it with something new?"

"Of course I blame myself ... If I wasn't a lycan then that stupid blood wouldn't have done anything to harm you," he muttered disgruntled, he was clearly frustrated. "I've never felt bad about being a lycan in my life, never, but my blood is what harmed you and I feel responsible, " he argued, closing his eyes as he started to shake a little he could still remember what the doctor had said. How Eden could fall in to an endless slumber, only waking when Romeo perhaps was already dead. And what was he to do then? "I just worry that you are not caring enough for yourself in this; that perhaps your need to move around might end up being what harms you more," he voiced his worries.

"I hope you are," he sighed, but right now he wasn't convinced. "I still feel guilty about our endeavours last time and you hadn't told me," he reminded the vampyre. Romeo hadn't had the slightest chance of knowing fully before it almost had gone irreversible wrong. "I just don't want you unconsciously punishing yourself," he said.

Romeo wasn't trying to bother him, or upset him, but it was clear that he wasn't coping too well. "For what happened to your sister," he finally said, knowing it really wasn't his place to speak about, but he had helped kill her after all. Breathing out he moved his head off his shoulder, looking at the vampyre he loved so dearly, "I am here for you, I am your boyfriend, and I intend on being there if you need to talk, just as how you have been there when I needed it."

"Don't say what? That I love and care about you?" He asked, feeling quite hurt by the notion. Romeo didn't really know what to say, so instead he got up from his seat.
He wasn't good at sitting still and he felt even worse because he could feel Eden's shifting emotions. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to upset you," he said, walking over to grab his bag. Returning he took out the copy of the contract. He had promised to deliver it. But then he took out something else. A book with a nice bound cover with a small ribbon bound around it. "I really wanted to give you this," he said, handing it to the vampyre, hoping he would take it. "It was one of my favourite collection of fairy tales growing up ... I know you've probably read every book under the sun, but I hoped it could perhaps entertain you while you rest."
