Don't do it like this | Kurtis

She frowned at his question before shrugging, "I haven't been able to talk much with her .. phone time was very restricted over there and she only came to visit me a handful of times," she admitted. She had asked her mother to just stay put over here. She didn't really know how it was going to go today. "I just .. I didn't know how to tell her about .." she shook her head no, placing a hand over her heart as she had to lean against the dresser for a while. Fuck it was hurting so much. And she couldn't even say it! Her eyes felt like they were stinging, using a cotton pad to pat them dry without irritating them further.
"I don't know how you act like you aren't even bothered to see me," she admitted. It felt bitter. It hurt so much. Just to look at him and not even get a response or anything. Not even something in his eyes. "I get that you're maybe past caring about me .. but I don't know .. I've barely been able to process this," she admitted, looking down before she grabbed her shirt, pulling it over her head and messing her hair up again, but she couldn't really care about her looks right now. "I had to find out about the apartment from other people .. hell you didn't even tell me we were broken up, I just," she had to hold her tongue as she looked down. That was when the tears started to roll down her face. She leaned on the dresser, crying silently as she tried to take deep breaths to calm down.
"I get that I fucked up .. but the only reason why I survived over there was because I thought of getting home .. to our home, not this crappy mansion," she finally admitted, drying her tears off in her sleeve. There was no point in hiding her tears.

"So that's it? I betrayed you?" she could hardly believe that was the only reason. He was truly black and white, wasn't he? He turned to leave and she was about to let him but she reached out and grabbed his sleeve. She wanted to plead with him. Ask him to stay. But she couldn't find the words. Instead she did something she didn't think she could, pulling at him and placing him in a chair for him to sit down, "No! You don't get to fucking leave when it was you seeking me out," she protested, standing in front of him, it was clear just how strong she was after getting to eat blood on a daily basis. She wasn't even aware that she was this strong.
"Have I not done everything you asked of me?" she asked, she was done crying now, she was so angry at him. "Have I not let you fuck up countless of times and yet taken you back without even questioning it?" This wasn't fair. It wasn't a good enough reason. She leaned over him, her necklace falling out from her shirt, dangling between them. "Tell me to my face that you don't love me anymore," gritting her teeth as that was what she needed to hear for him to be able to go. "Tell me that what we had meant nothing to you, and that all the things you told me were lies," she looked into his eyes, she needed them to confront each other like this otherwise she would never have any closure. "Tell me what is so fucking obvious."

Hearing him finally admit it made her feel broken inside. She thought she would feel better. That perhaps her love would fall away and be replaced by hate for everything she had gone through. Every heartache, every hurt and life changing things she had gone through with him didn't matter to him anymore. He pushed her back, and she stumbled, falling as she landed on the floor. Her body was shaking as she got up. "Fine," her voice was empty. She walked to the window, opening it. She had to get out. Get away. She couldn't be in the same room as him anymore because he had changed so much that she couldn't recognize him. "It'll be the last time you see me," she said, ripping her necklace off and throwing it on the floor in front of him before she jumped out the window and took off.
She was fast. She was angry. And most of all she felt her tears just fly off of her face as she ran. Nothing mattered anymore! Everything she had done for Kurtis, all the things they had gone through from her miscarriage, to the assault by his mother and cousin to them moving in together. Everything was of no matter anymore. In fact she wasn't even sure where she ended up. She just wasn't going to let him see her again, that was for sure.

Damiano had heard the news through the grapevine, and he had promised Jeremy he would go check up on the lycan. The nephilim was still in recovery from whatever it was Zaira had done to him. He came into the room where Abel was sitting, looking at the lycan on the bed as he crossed his arms. This was really bad. "No sign of Zaira yet?" he asked. There were missing posters of her all over town. Her mother wasn't giving up, that was for sure, as the reward for finding her just went up and up. He moved over, sitting down next to Abel with a small sigh. "It's all a mess, isn't it?" he said, scratching his scalp as he wasn't sure what to say besides that.
Things with Jeremy were looking up at least. He had good days and bad days, but Damiano had told himself that he had to be there for him. He just couldn't be away from him anymore. Of course they still kept it a secret from his parents about their relationship. Dropping the fact that Jeremy had been a feeding victim and was in a gay relationship wasn't really the best combination. So Damiano had taken up the role as a concerned friend who had found the nephilim. "Fucking hell why are they both so set on hurting each other."

"He should have .. But it's a little too late to say that now," Damiano shrugged. Of course he cared for Kurtis, but he wasn't close to the lycan in the way that Abel or Jeremy was. However he was mostly annoyed that this kid kept doing the same thing over and over. He was like a bad psychological experiment that just got worse and worse over time.
Abel asked to Jeremy and the hybrid sighed, rubbing his arm a little as he wasn't quite sure how to say it. "He's been doing better .. I visit him like every day, so I don't notice like the big changes," he admitted, frowning as he looked down. He was still angry with Zaira for what had happened, but just letting that anger manifest wouldn't do them any good. And if Jeremy could forgive her, then Damiano had to as well. "We go for a lot of walks, talking about everything and nothing; Sometimes we don't even talk, we're just in the same room," he wasn't quite sure how to explain it. But the nephilim seemed to need him, and after everything, the hybrid didn't really have the willpower to stay away from him any more. He couldn't deny Jeremy what he wanted.
"Listen, I know I'm sorta a late comer to this friend group, but has Kurtis ever been like this before?" he wouldn't judge him. Damiano had done a lot to numb his own pain, so in that regard he could understand.

Lucky to have him? He didn't know about that. He had done a lot to hurt the nephilim, and yet he had forgiven him too many times already. In reality Damiano was just hoping that he could use this to make amends to what had happened. He cared a lot for Jeremy. Sure they were still just teenagers, but it was the kind of crush that felt real and long lasting. Or at least he hoped.
As Abel started to move closer, the hybrid frowned a little confused, but managed to grab a hold of his shirt and pull him back as he sensed the transformation coming. He couldn't say how, but perhaps it was just in his DNA. The lycan escaped and Damiano stood dumbfounded before running after him. If anyone, he knew he could take him on. Running down the hallway he turned down one where he saw the end of a tail. Catching up to him wouldn't be easy, but Kurtis was hurt and weak, and he would tire soon enough. Not that Damiano planned on running to the ends of the world, but he did have quite the endurance.
Managing to reach him, he pulled at his tail, getting ahead of him before wrapping his arms around the lycan's neck, staying close to his body so he couldn't bite him. "You bloody idiot," he muttered knowing full well that Kurtis could hear every word in this form. "Do you ever stop running?"

Damiano was basically at the whims of the lycan right now, dangling onto him as it threw itself all over. Those poor patients, but for now he was just aiming at keeping him in place and tiring him out. "You're such a fucking asshole," he yelled at him, planting his feet into the ground as he now strained himself to keep him in place. Damiano was disappointed in Kurtis. He was supposed to be Jeremy's best friend, and now that the nephilim needed him, the lycan was out drowning his sorrows when he should've been there for his friend. The hybrid had seen Jeremy through the withdrawal shakes and helped him do everything basically. And now this idiot was making a fuss because he was finally caught? "Do you think the world revolves about you?" He had to yell at him it seemed, because Kurtis clearly didn't listen to anything but that small pea-brain of his. "You almost snapped Abel's head off; Zaira is missing; and you haven't visited Jeremy once." He couldn't give less of a shit about whether or not he had a grudge on the nephilim, but did that really matter? Did he not see that he was needed or did he have his head so far up his own ass that he was living off of his own bullshit? "If you want to keep running, fine, but you're going to end up losing all of those who have been there for you so many times; and you can't even be there for them when they need you?"

Damiano truly doubled down, planting his heels in the ground, but it wasn't enough as the lycan jumped out the window. Fuck, this was going to end badly, but he also was so sick and tired of everyone thinking that the world revolved around them. He managed to swing himself around, ending up on the lycan's back and actively riding him as the giant beast went down the street, hopefully heading for a forest or something that might take them out of the town. The last thing the hybrid wanted was to cause havoc in the middle of the city. "Bloody idiot," he just muttered to himself as he kept a tight grip on him.
Once they entered the forest, he swung himself back around again, using all of his inherited daemonic strength to plant his feet solidly in the ground. It was much different than the slippery floor of the hospital, so this time around he managed to stop him completely. He just held onto him. Not saying anything as he listened to the panting of the beast, gritting his teeth as he felt upset about this whole ordeal. "I know it fucking sucks," he just said, not even caring if the lycan was listening, but it was about time they had some sort of heart to heart. Even if it turned out one sided. "I was furious with them both after what happened .. I wanted to break everything in sight and then break some more shit." It was clear he was being genuine, speaking the truth as he simply felt those emotions rise up within him once more.
"But we're kids, Kurtis, we're kids and we're allowed to mess up - hell if we don't mess up in this time of our lives then we'll become sucky adults," was he even reaching the lycan? Was he even making sense? Frankly it didn't matter, he just needed to say this shit, because Damiano had had no-one to talk to about all of this. Nobody who understood at least. "I'm not saying you have to forgive them, because I'm not sure I've done that yet either," rather serious on that matter, but he needed to have a proper chat with them before he could decide. And seeing as Zaira was missing and Damiano was still recovering, he didn't see a reason for a confrontation yet. "Can't you put your hurt and pride aside for just a second to go see him?" - "I get that he went behind all of our backs, but he's hurting, otherwise he wouldn't have done that."
