The question made the vampyre chuckle quite lightheartedly, as he clearly didnt care for any rules at all. The elder was nerely humoring him with the reminder. He just wanted the elder to find out what had happened. Which he seemed to the moment he took a whiff off the small vial. He looked so dismayed. Quite so for someone who was just a blood bag. But no one really knew how close a vampyre could get to a donor they laid claim on. The urge to drop the games made him click his tongue, though the eerie feeling made him rise up to his feet. “Fine. Come along.” He said, nodding for the elder to follow. He would take him through the mansion, till they reached the stairs for the lower level.

Joe would be there. A bit of dried blood on his hairline covered a wound from being hit, a device put on his arm to draw out the blood. He sat in a chair sloped forward, though it was clear that the chair was made for that too so he wasnt falling off. The vampyre gestured to him. “There. Take what is yours then. But dont you want to have a taste? Find out what you’re missing?” He asked, walking over to a bucket, moving it to make the blood squish around. It wasnt a whole lot. But it definitely wasnt a small amount either. The vampyre dipped a finger in the bucket to then put in his mouth, humming at the taste. “Lovely.”

He was lead downstairs and seeing the almost mideival contraption he grit his teeth, especially as the vampyre he was with tried to tempt him. Scoffing he shook his head as he then watched how the filthy inbred stuck his finger into the blood. Cesare barely got to react before he was by the vampyre, grabbing his wrist mid air, tasting the blood for himself so he wouldn't get a taste. He wouldn't react right now, because he took the time to bite off the vampyre's finger, spitting it across the room. While he was distracted with that, he went to Benjamin, untying him from the apparatus and making sure the bleeding would stop, even going so far as to rip a sleeve off of his shirt to keep the rest of his blood inside.
When he knew they human wouldn't bleed out he rose to his feet, walking over to the vampyre who had even dared come between them. "While you caring for the rules do not matter, there are certain rules set in place in regards to hunting areas," his fangs growing bigger, his eyes growing darker as he looked at the man, "I don't take kindly to anyone hunting on my territory." With that he sunk his teeth into the vampyre, draining him completely before ripping his head clean off. He kicked it to the other side of the room before he looked at the bucket of blood. It smelled so inviting, but instead of drinking it, he cut his own wrist open, dripping down into the blood, digging into his pocket to take out a lighter. He lit the bucket of blood on fire along with the torn up vampyre. It would never return from ashes, that was for sure.
He then went to Benjamin, lifting him up in his arms, kissing his forehead. "Hang on for me .. for you," he pleaded against his skin before he ascended from the lower level, the fire spreading downstairs. At this point Martin and some of his sires had arrived. He handed the human over to Martin who looked surprised, but nodded, taking the human away for safekeeping and to get medical help. Cesare was shaking with fury, and as he turned to look at his sires he just nodded, having them go for any in this family, not discerning men, women or children. This family line had crossed him, and he would leave none of them alive once morning came.

The vampyre hadnt expected the elder to grab him and take the blood but he did, along with the fingers. The vampyre whimpered and grabbed his own hand, crying in pain while Joe was untied and removed from the device. The vampyre looked to the elder as he came closer, warning him but to no avail. He fell limp without his blood and didnt struggle as the vampyre tore off his head. Joe was weakened but he wasnt dying. But it wasnt safe to say what they had done to get him here so the plea was reasonable enough.
The family went into a panic as the elder returned as it hadnt been what was supposed to happen. Some tried to flee while others pleaded innocent. A small child looked up at one of the sires with the noticeable empty eyes. But Nika was gone. No where to be found. The vampyre that had looked hungry spotted Cesare in the bloodbath. A smile grew on it’s face and it seemed to grow with muscles which wasnt a very vampyre-like thing. It was clear that this family had been not just breeding odd genes but experimented to get them. The brute sprinted towards the elder.

Joe woke up with a enormous headache shortly after he was away from it all, sitting up but tempted to lie back down as everything was spinning and his head felt ten times heavier.

Cesare sent a group of his sires out to find this Nika girl, the rest of this clan was slaughtered, and it had been a while since he had even done any of this. However he was in his right to do so, as they had been the ones to break the rules. He was standing amongst torn up body parts, blood dripping down from his hands and mouth, even his hair engulfed in blood and slicked back. The monstrous vampyre came sprinting towards him and Cesare was tackled to the ground. This wasn't an easy fight.

Martin was with Benjamin, checking his pulse and waiting at a safe place for a doctor to arrive. "Lay still," he urged the human, helping him back to lie down, "you've lost a lot of blood." It wasn't just the human's life on the line. If Martin failed to keep him safe, he was going to pay for it with his life.

The monster of a vampyre had all the strength in the world that it needed but what it had in power, it lacked in braincells. Grabbing the elder by the collar, he shook him hard before it realized that it could slam him into the ground. Chuckling like a maniac it leaned down to bite him, sinking it’s fangs into his cheek to draw blood. It didnt like mortal blood like the rest, it wanted vampyre blood.

Joe was helped back down but he felt a little delirious from all that had happened. “Cesare.” He muttered, wanting to know where the vampyre was. If Joe had been undressed somewhat, he had wounds from bites here and there all over. Chest, shoulder, wrists. “I’m fine.” He argued in a stubborn tone, though everything was pulsating when he looked at it.

Cesare was being tossed around easily. He couldn't match the brute's strength, and as it sunk its nasty teeth into him it was then he smiled, because he was just close enough to talk into its ear and compel it to do whatever he pleased. "You will let me go, and tear yourself asunder until nothing of you is left," and as the beast would succumb to itself he got up, helping his sires finish up the rest. Standing in the aftermath, he was bleeding quite a bit, his vision blurry as they set the estate on fire, assuring that none of the vampyre within would ever survive this ordeal. It was also a signal to not mess with Cesare's clan again.

Martin heard his mutter but he was hesitant to say much, "don't worry about him right now," he said, getting up as the doctor arrived. The human was patched up, every part of him given something to heal and even seraphim tears were used to close up the worst of it, though the doctors couldn't promise that there wouldn't be scars. Martin's phone started to buzz and he got up walking out of the room to take the call.
The human would find himself in a smaller room, clearly some wooden area outside, but it wasn't like the cottage that they had visited that night. This was more modern.

The monster could do nothing but comply, tearing off it’s own legs and then rip itself in half till function ceased. The mess that was left behind was grusome. The mansion burned and soon police would come to investigate. Though it would be ruled out and handed over to some vampyres of authority instead.

Joe exhaled deeply, gritting his teeth as everything was spinning. When the doctor arrived he found out what had happened to him and he was distraught by it, looking to Martin with a frown. His wounds were healed and he was told to sleep the night out and replenish his energy with food and liquids. The human managed to get some sleep but eventually was he a little cross with the sire. “I want a cigarette!” He muttered, trying to get out of the bed.

Martin came in as the human started to yell. He was silently helping him up on his feet. "Let's get you that cigarette, huh?" he just said, but there was something bitter about his tone. As if he was upset with him, but he didn't dare say it out of the orders he had been given. He did help the human outside, the scene around them rather calm, trees surrounding the rather nice small cottage. A few vampyres were around, none of them seemingly in a good mood. Martin helped Benjamin to sit down in a chair outside, handing him a packet of cigarettes and a lighter.
Mariah drew nearer, but Martin stopped her, "this isn't fair," she hissed at the vampyre, but Martin kept a stoic face, "you have your orders and I have mine," he retaliated which made Mariah shrug him off heading back out to some of the others. Benjamin could recognize a few. All of them sires of Cesare, all of them still healing from the night before. Vampyres fighting vampyres could be a messy ordeal, and the cuts and bites took longer to heal. Martin was looking to his phone every other minute, clearly just waiting until Benjamin was done smoking.

Joe didnt really like being helped. It made him feel weak. Like he was incapable of doing things on his own. Outside it was a little serene of a setting to be in, but then there were all the wounded sires. He lit his cigarette, noticing Mariah, her hiss making him frown a little. He finished his cigarette quickly before he was ready to go back inside. When he was back in bed, he looked at the vampyre. “What did she mean by that?” He asked, because he wasnt quite sure what was going on. None of them had looked especially happy and he did wonder why. And why were they all wounded? Had they fought the vampyres that had taken him captive? He realized the answer before he could even ask, feeling a little stupid for not realizing.

Martin helped him back into bed, knowing that the human was stubborn and the worst part was that they healed even slower. The question made him sigh, "don't worry about her," he just assured him, but his face was still stoic. Clearly holding back, but not much could truly be done when Benjamin was still this hurt. Martin got up to stand turning to leave and would attend the human every time he needed to get up for whatever reason.

As the days passed, the sires seemed to heal just fine, but there was still no sign of Cesare. A few of the sires were heading back into town, but most of them stayed here for one reason or another. Martin got a reasonable amount of calls every day, usually around the same and rather on the dot. He seemed to let a few facades crack from time to time, but in the end he was holding this fort together.

Joe really disliked being somewhere he didnt know, even more when Cesare wasnt here at all. Though everyone else had healed, Joe still had a few wounds and slight fatigue. But he could move on his own and handle himself just fine around this time. His wounds were still covered and when he checked one, the one on his shouder was especially gnarly. The vampyre had been messy and now it would leave a permanent mark. “Let me go home.” He just halfway told halfway ordered Martin at some point when his impatience got to him. He wanted a normal life again and to get on top after everything that had happened. And then again, no sign of Cesare only made him less inclined to want to stay.

"Are we a joke to you?" he asked, clearly offended, "you think I want to spend my time watching over you like this?" He scoffed, shaking his head no before speaking once more, "this was his last order, and I intend to keep you safe until you are fully healed." Martin was just about to open his mouth again as yelling was heard outside. The vampyre widened his eyes, going over to the window seeing someone approaching. He urged the human to follow him and stay close. He moved slowly, not wanting to human to make too much noise, but as they got down the stairs the door opened. Martin frowned confused, the man in the door barely recognizable as he stepped forward.
His sea foam green eyes locked with the human's and a slight smile appeared as he walked closer. He cupped his face, looking at him before his body fell limp, collapsing on the floor and leaving a handprint of blood on the human's face. Martin moved closer and as soon as he saw who it was, he called for the sires to help him get their leader into a bath, cleaning him off before placing him in a bed. Everyone seemed to work together like a clockwork, and it turned out that Cesare was rather badly hurt. He had multiple cuts and the one on his face wouldn't stop bleeding hence why he had been so covered in it. Mariah was by his side immediately, but Martin got all of them out, scolding them as the elder vampyre needed rest more than company.

“Then fucking dont!” Joe just barked back. He hadnt asked for protection. Even if he had been taken by vampyres, what were the chances that he would be taken again? He was ready to argue with the sire but the yelling interrupted them. Joe followed and as the door opened, the human frowned in confusion. Well, he recognized his eyes as soon as they locked on each other. The way he reeked of blood was quite off putting but Joe hadnt expected him to collapse. It wasnt very vampyre like after all. He had to step back as the sires tended to their elder, sitting down as standing made him exhausted. He waited till he was allowed to see him, sitting near the room, only moving to tend to his mortality by eating or drinking or whatever else his body needed. He eventually even fell asleep in the chair he sat in from waiting.

Cesare was being almost guarded until Sadie arrived. She saw her brother sleeping in the chair outside of the room, frowning confused because she had been called to come pick him up. "Benjamin?" she asked carefully, not wishing to startle him as she touched his shoulder carefully. If he didn't wake, she would simply sit down and wait for him to do so. When he finally did wake she looked at her brother confused and yet also clearly interested in what he was doing out here in the hallway and why he wasn't in his bed. "I was told you wanted to go home?" she said, not talking too loud as it would perhaps startle her. The house was rather silent, so the only real noise was the wind outside. "I have a car out front ready for you if you're ready?" she asked.

He was woken up by a familiar voice, blinking a few times as he felt tension in his neck from the way he had been sleeping. Groaning softly he realized it was Sadie touching his shoulder. “Yeah. I did.” He confirmed, noticing how silent the house was. He wasnt sure he found that comforting. “I’m waiting for them to let me see him.” He replied, pointing towards the door not far from them. He didnt want to go home before he had seen the vampyre. To at least know what he wasnt in there struggling for his life. Or if he was, then Joe didnt want to leave at all.

Sadie was surprised to hear that her brother wanted to see Cesare. The last she knew Benjamin couldn't wait to get away from the vampyre. But her brother had clearly been through a lot seeing how he looked right now. She looked towards the door, humming as she nodded. "I'll distract them .. go in and check on him afterwards, alright?" she said, getting up from the floor and walking over to the door. She knocked and Martin came and opened the door. They had a short conversation and it seemed like the male hesitated, but eventually followed Sadie out and downstairs. The door was left slightly agape for the human to enter.
Inside he would find Cesare, his eyes closed and his face attempted to be covered up, but the patch was already soaking through again. He was being kept on a constant blood supply. Opening his eyes a little at the sent of a mortal, he looked a little hazed before his broken lip pulled up in a slight smile. "Are you alright?" his voice was raw and almost broken, but he hoped he was being understood. He just seemed happy to see Benjamin.

“Thank you Sadie.” He thanked her, quite sincerely with gratitude and relief. He watched her go to the door and how it was Martin answering. The two left and he carefully got up and went to check. He didnt really like the sight that met him. Even as someone who claimed to hate vampyres, this looked plain wrong to him. A vampyre hurt? That was absurd. “I’m better than you are right now. I’m healing.” He said, moving over to sit on the side of the bed, looking at the vampyre. He reached over to take the patch off, seeing something on the nightstand that he took to wipe Cesare’s face clean before applying a new patch. “Why arent you healing?” He asked, looking at the soaked patch that was still in his hand.

Cesare just smiled, chuckling softly but it sounded perhaps a bit more rough through his torn vocal chords. The human was right. He did look like he was healing pretty well and it made Cesare very happy. The cuts under the patch weren't for the faint of hearts. It was torn up badly, some places you could even see the bone. Quite different from the handsome man that Benjamin might've gotten used to. He sighed at the question shrugging lightly but it seemed to hurt as well. "I guess the vampyre that got me wasn't just a vampyre anymore," he said. Reaching out he took the human's hand. He was still cold to the touch, but he looked paler and perhaps a bit more sunken in.
"What are you still doing here?" he asked, clearly rather confused. Happy, but confused nonetheless. He searched the human's eyes, wondering if he needed anything. Cesare would gladly provide him with everything. All he needed was to ask.

The chuckle made Joe’s expression soften up a little and under better circumstances would he have smiled at the vampyre. Tending to the wounds under the patch was nothing he would see on a human, a human that would survive to say the least. “That sounds terrifying.” He had to admit. Once thing was vampyres. Anything else in the likes would be like the monster of monsters. He let the vampyre hold his hand. The question made him shrug. “I needed to see you before I left.” He just admitted, looking at Cesare, lifting his free hand to push some hair out of the vampyre’s face. “You were right. I needed you there at the club, and only because of you am I still here and not bottled up for consumption. I’m sorry for how harsh I was on you.”

He smiled nodding in agreement. It had been terrifying, but he didn't need to go into details about that. He was more interested in what had made him stay. He looked like he could walk around at least, even if he did notice some hints of aching in him. The gentle push back of some of his hair just made him look at the human with adoration in his eyes. He just felt so happy to see that the human was doing alright. Benjamin started apologizing to him and he shook his head a little, gritting his teeth in pain as he guided his hand up to his lips, kissing it gently. "You don't need to apologize; as long as you're safe then it has all been worth it," he smiled, closing his eyes for a while, just taking in the human's scent. He could smell the blood, and knowing what it tasted like it made his throat burn a little. However he wouldn't want to hurt him, that much he knew.
Martin entered, frowning as he saw the human there and how Cesare was perhaps straining himself to hold the human's hand. "He needs his rest," the vampyre insisted making Cesare sigh, "it's quite alright, Martin, never keep him away from seeking me, please." Martin was just about done with this, walking over to place a hand on Benjamin's shoulder rather restrictedly, "I think it's about time you went home," he wasn't really hissing, but it was clear he was upset. He was shaking a little with anger, "it's not like you care about him either way." Cesare's face turned stern and Martin immediately let go of the human as if he was burning his hand. "I would advice you to guard your tongue, young one," Cesare said in a fair warning, "why do you keep on lying to yourself? He's never going to care for you and you know that .. we need you .. and he doesn't want anything to do with you."
It was clear that it struck Cesare as if he was being kicked while he was literally laying down. "Why?" - "Because I love him." Cesare wasn't really sure where to look as he said it. Perhaps he should've screamed it out loud. Let everyone hear of his failures. "And while he will never love me .. I cannot bear to see him hurt or harmed in any way."

The vampyre shook his head but Joe wasnt waiving from the apology. It needed to be said. Even if it was all worth it, it was only right to admit what he did wrong. “Dont say that.” He muttered as Cesare always made it sound like the human’s worth was way bigger than Joe thought it to be. Martin returned and Joe knew that Cesare needed rest. They were just talking, well, Joe didnt realize how the vampyre was straining himself just yet. The hand on his shoulder made him look to the sire, but when he could see the anger in the vampyre, then he swallowed his argument. Obviously Martin only cared for Cesare’s wellbeing.
While the two vampyres spoke was the human quiet, listening to the sire speak of him like he wasnt there. It was fair, he had never given the sires any reason to believe that he ever could have good intentions with their maker. But the confession from Cesare, made him turn his head instantly to the vampyre, looking at him with a frown. He was in love with him?
The human felt a little flustered at the notion, even more now that the sire were there to watch them too. He pulled his hand from Cesare’s grip, feeling his stomach twist and churn a little. “Uh.. uhm…” he voiced, looking down before he then glanced towards the sire. No, he couldnt say anything while Martin was there too. “Get well Cesare.” He muttered instead of anything else he would have said, slowly getting up.

This wasn't how he had wanted Benjamin to find out. He honestly would've taken the confession to the grave if it wasn't for the fact that Martin was pressing him at a time like this. He felt the human shy away from him and that hurt more than the cut on his face had done since he had gotten it. The human got up and Martin looked confused at his leader, gritting his teeth before storming out the room. Cesare took a deep breath, his body feeling weak once more. "Now I'm the one who's sorry," he chuckled, his eyes welling up, tears rolling down his face as he couldn't help it. "Thank you," he then said as Sadie appeared in the door.
She looked from her master and to her brother. She would take him anywhere he wanted, and as they walked out of the house it was almost reminiscent of when Cesare had sent him away before. This was a true goodbye, wasn't it? Sadie got into the driver's seat, not turning the car on yet. She just sat there for a while, not knowing if her brother was going to say anything.

Cesare’s apology made Joe frown lightly, looking back he saw the bloody tears. That stung his heart but he couldnt really do much. What if Martin was right? His sires needed him. They needed him more, than he possibly needed the uncertain and flaky human who could barely decide what he felt from one moment to another. That was what Joe believed as he stepped out. He got in the car with Sadie, his eyes welled up but he was looking out the window so she couldnt see it. But his shoulders would be trembling. “Just take me to Churchill. I’ll find home from there.” He muttered. He lifted his arm to rub his face, wanting the tears gone but it proved harder than he thought it would. If she drove off, he would be quiet for the most part, crying in silence, and he hated crying so he preferred if she just ignored it. Though he needed something, something to hold onto. “Sadie. I havent been nice to you. But can you keep me up on how he’s doing? Just…. If he’s getting better… getting.. worse” he barely whispered the last word, dreading it. “… I need to know.” He was pleading, looking out the window as the tears kept rolling down his cheeks.

She nodded as she was told a destination. Off they went, and she was quiet, not saying anything to upset him as he could do what he needed to do right now. After driving for a little while he asked something of her that was quite strange to hear from her brother. "Benny," she sighed, her grip on the wheel tightening as they drove. It was a lot to ask of her, however she wasn't sure if it would be good for him. "You saw his wounds," now it was her time to be trembling. She opted to signal the car over to the side of the road before pulling the breaks.
Sadie had always been strong, always been resilient, and she for one understood how much crying was hated, because she hated it as well. Her eyes stinging made her close them for a little while. "I don't think you want to know how it's gonna go," she just said, her voice a little broken. She cared deeply for Cesare. It wasn't like anything she had experienced before, but he was her sire. She felt connected to him in that sense. "They're going to try getting a transfusion in tonight .. but if it fails again then he might only have weeks left .. maybe a month at max."

He saw his wounds but he knew nothing about vampyre physiology! How was he supposed to know what was good and what was bad? Wasnt it just a stake through the heart that they really had to worry about?! She stopped the car and he looked at her, even if his face was puffy and red. She was still the Sadie that had seen him cry a million times when they were just kids. He shook his head at her thoughts. She couldnt be more wrong. “I want to know. I need to know.” He argued. No, he didnt want to not know anything.
“Please Sadie. Tell me how it goes.” He pleaded, reaching out to touch her arm, not caring that she was cold at this point. He really only cared about one thing here in this moment and he hadnt even had the chance to say it out loud. But again, that would be a huge step for him, that he probably wasnt ready for. He lifted his pinky. “Swear.” He whispered, closing his eyes. It had been their sacred thing as children, how they always kept their promises.
