"I won't come sit in a club just waiting for you to have breaks," though it was a lie. He would gladly do that. Just not tonight. "Well yes I would, but another night perhaps." He sighed, kissing his forehead gently. He knew he couldn't decide on behalf of the human, but he also felt like he had been promised a proper date. "Call your boss back .. say that you have pre-existing plans, and that they cannot be moved," he muttered in a soft plea, leaning in to kiss his chest, nibbling lightly at his skin as he placed rather sporadic kisses all over his skin. His hand was grasping lightly at his hips, pulling him closer as he hated being too far away from him. "Spoil me .. let me spend my evening with my boyfriend," he whispered, pulling away to look at him. "We haven't been on a date before, and frankly I really want to spend some genuine time with you," he could list a whole lot of things that this date would be good for. Tilting his head a little he looked at the man he loved, "would you not be upset with me if I canceled our plans because of work?" Or was he being completely unfair now? He knew that work could be hard to let go of, but he could not for whatever reason see why work would ever come above quality time they could have together. Pulling out his phone from his pocket he smiled as he watched the message on the screen, turning it to let him see too. "We even have a table for tonight .. do you really want me to waste my money on reservation fees?" He had him there.

The vampyre tried to deny it and Joe gave him a look like he really just couldnt believe that the vampyre wouldnt. He quickly admitted to it and Joe chuckled. “I almost would have believed you. But then I remembered who I’m dealing with.” He said, looking at the vampyre with a soft gaze. The mutter made his look soften up a little as he watched him kiss his chest, drawing in a deep breath. The way he whispered made Joe lift a hand to place against the back of Cesare’s head, just holding him gently. “It would be a shame to waste this opportunity with you.” He hummed as if he was only considering it. If he had to be honest then he did want to spend more of his time with the vampyre than working. But now he wanted to hear what other reasons Cesare could think of. A little cruel but he would beg for forgiveness afterwards. “I would be. Very upset.” He assured him, playing with a strand of hair that had freed itself from the mess. How could the vampyre’s hair be a perfect mess and yet so soft? Thick but soft. He looked at the phone to see the reservation before he sighed. “Okay, alright, I get it. I wasnt going to accept it.” He said, still mindlessly playing with the vampyre’s hair as he grabbed his phone to call his boss and decline the request. He looked at the vampyre the whole time as he did it before he hung up and let his phone fall back on the bed. “There we go. No distractions.” He said before he leaned in to place a kiss over Cesare’s lips, a small but tender peck. “I liked it. To hear you speak for how much I shoud be going on this date with you. It makes me feel really valued.” And he was genuine with those words. He looked at the vampyre’s lips and leaned in a little but before they could kiss, did he lean back away to lay back on the bed with a thump. A smile on his lips as if they werent just about to kiss. “I do want some ground rules for tonight. As it is a first date which means, no excessive touching or kissing. We’ll spend the night on getting to know each other. We’ll have three kisses no more.” He said, before he looked at the vampyre, to see if he had any objections.

Cesare scoffed softly as he disclosed that he had in fact no plans of accepting the offer. He was relieved in that sense. Though the next statements made him smile, touching his cheek gently, "if you want to feel valued just tell me," he smiled in an assuring tone. If he could he would do everything to make him feel that, because it was genuinely how he felt he should be treated. He continued to kiss his neck a little before he pulled away, looking at him with vulnerable eyes as the human leaned in to his lips. A soft sigh leaving his lips as he just longed for his lips, but he was cheated of it. Opening his eyes he saw the smile, but it was clear the vampyre wasn't really satisfied. It was almost a little cruel, and as he stated his reasoning he hummed. "Alright .. but it goes both ways, so don't be cruel," he said, his hand lingering on his face still before he got up from the bed. "I'm going to get ready," he smiled, walking over to a small closet, taking out some clothes, "you can pick something from in here as well .. I might have some roughly your size in there as well," he hummed, but of course he could wear whatever he felt most comfortable in. He headed out to the bathroom, his eyes lingering a bit on the human before he closed the door. He got dressed, a nice shirt and long pants in a stylish fit. He folded his sleeves up a bit, giving it more of a relaxed look, messing a bit with his hair before popping an earring into the ear he had pierced. He put on a nice gold necklace as well, feeling a bit empty without the pendant, but it would be his trouble later to see if he could get it back. For now he would have to be without it. He checked himself a few times in the mirror before he knocked on the door to hear if the human was ready as well.

It was a little cruel to pull away but he really needed to get it off his chest before there could be any distractions. And every kiss he shared with the vampyre only seemed to lead to another. He nodded as Cesare pointed out that it went both ways. “I dont intend to be cruel to you.” He said. He didnt know if he would do anything unintentionally but he at least wanted to make it clear that he had no intentions of it. He hummed and sat up as the vampyre got up and directed his attention to his closet. Somehow he doubted that there could be anything that fit properly but maybe it could work out. He watched him go and noticed the lingering look before he got up and went to check out the vampyre’s clothes. He looked some shirts over and deemed that most of them would be too big, but some would just look a little loose. So he picked one of those in a soft sand yellow and some black pants to match. The shirt was plain but so soft to the touch, that he wondered if he wanted to wear it or just keep touching it. He grabbed a belt too and as he got into the clothes, he looked in the mirror with a frown. He wouldnt say he really had style. He never cared what clothes he wore. He put the belt on and pulled the pants up to his waist, giving it a high-waisted look. It did make his legs look a little longer. He stuffed the shirt into the pants before he closed the belt, exhaling deeply as he looked down himself. “Right…” he sighed, correcting the shirt a little, rolling up the sleeves and adjusting the length of the pants. He thought more in what was practical rather than what looked good. The knock on the door pulled him from his thoughts and he sighed. “Come in.” He spoke out loud, scratching the back of his neck as he didnt feel too sure. Outfit ref (ish)

Cesare chuckled softly before he opened the door. His eyes looked towards the human instantly and he couldn't help but smile. "Wow, my dare is really hot," he said quite genuinely. He walked closer, inspecting him with tender eyes, "this is going to be horrible for me," he sighed, "how am I going to survive not being able to touch you all over?" He might've sounded silly, but he was very truthful. He took a step away, holding a hand up to signal him to hold on. Going over he opened a small drawer, taking out a jewelry box. Taking out a golden necklace much like his own he walked over to place it around his neck. "You're just borrowing, this isn't a gift," he just said. He knew he wouldn't accept it either way. Leaning down to his ear he whispered, "I just really like matching with my boyfriend." Leaning back again he straightened his back a bit, smiling as he looked at him. "Perfect," he said softly before he grabbed a pair of shoes to put on. He was really restraining himself as he did want to kiss him already. But he would save it for now. "It's not too far from here .. we could walk?" He suggested. It wasn't like rain was threatening in the distance. Putting on his shoes he grabbed a jacket before stepping outside. He looked at him, then around. There weren't anyone around. "Would it be excessive touch to hold your hand?" He asked with a warm and charming smile.

Joe didnt look too convinced at his own reflection, correcting his clothes here and there. The shirt sat rather nicely and it smelled good too; not that Joe didnt have nice smelling clothes, but he was perhaps rather used to the soap he used to clean them by now. This was a different soap, probably a really good one too for the clothes. The sigh made him a little curious but the question made him shrug. “I guess you’ll have to contain yourself.” He remarked. The vampyre looked as stylish as ever so Joe wasnt really surprised. Cesare stepping away and signaling him to stay made him raise his brows a little confused. The necklace already brought objections so once the vampyre clarified that it was just for borrowing, he let him put it around his neck. Thr whisper made the hairs on his neck stand up but he kept his composure. “Is it really alright?” He asked, checking in the mirror again. The suggestion made him hum and nod. He didnt need a jacket so he was pretty much set to go once he had his shoes on. “We can hold hands while we walk.” He said, reaching out to let the vampyre take his hand. They went off and Joe was a little curious about their surroundings. “So where are we exactly? -I mean I know we’re close to the beach… but still in Churchill?”

"More than alright; you look wonderful," he assured him, sending him a loving smile. Did he really not see that? Cesare supposed he would just have to show him that during their night. Outside it was nice to hear that they could hold hands. He just didn't want to assume anything, and he knew how nervous - in lack of a better word - that he could be around public display like this. Though this was pretty tame from what the vampyre had done before, it might've not been for the human. As they walked he looked around at he asked him a new question, humming softly. "Well I suppose the area isn't as well named; it's west of Northern but north of Western," he said, looking to Benjamin as they walked. For one because he liked looking at it, and second he wanted to just get a feel for how he was faring tonight. "Basically it's an area with a lot of small vacation houses, a small cozy town and not much else really," when he thought about it there were many hidden gems within Churchill, but he had also had a long time to find them. "I actually picked this spot out because not many people really know about it, so the land here is cheap and there's a marina not far from the house so I can have my boat here as well." It sounded very practical, and it was. However Cesare often longed for something familiar, and that was what the ocean provided for him. As they walked the sun was slowly setting, giving the vampyre some relief as they headed into the town. It wasn't really anything fancy, but the buildings were very pretty and there were a few people in here already. If the human didn't want to hold hands anymore, he would accept it, just walking beside him. If he continued he wouldn't really comment on it, simply giving his hand a squeeze. "Up here," he nodded in the direction they were heading, up a slightly slanting road but it was beautifully paved with stones of different sizes.

“So not a recognized part of the city?” He asked, but it was fair if the vampyre didnt know. Joe just didnt have a clue. He knew the Western district and Central but he wouldnt say he knew much about the others. This part looked rather nice, but old. Joe kind of liked it. Old but pretty, that wasnt something he could say about his hometown. That was just old. Maybe even a little… ugly? It wasnt a town of style, that was for sure. “That makes sense. It’s very pretty.” When more people began showing up, Joe did loosen up his grip like he was considering letting go, but then he gripped on a little tighter, feeling daring. They moved up the road and Joe did spend quite a lot of time looking around, enjoying how beautiful and simple everything was. “So you’ll swoon me with more hidden gems in the future?” He asked, looking at the vampyre, because he could imagine that Cesare had a long list of places.

"I don't really know, I suppose it is part of an elder area of Churchill so it's .. sorta it's own thing?" Though he had to admit he hadn't really looked into it. That wasn't important to him either way. He liked being here, and still being able to hold Benjamin's hand in public made him feel so proud. Like the human was daring and actually maybe wanted to show off what they were? Maybe he was reading too much into it, but he just smiled to himself. Even up the streets you could hear the water hitting the shore, and it almost reverberated through the small town like a breath of fresh air. The question made him chuckle a little as he shrugged. "I suppose I have a few places in mind .. but keep in mind not all of the places are fancy," he said, giving him a cheeky smile before a man stepped out on the streets, opening his arms as he saw the vampyre. "Cesare!" he chuckled, moving over to take his hand as a greeting making the vampyre chuckle. The man was quite old, grey hair and a bit of a beer belly. "Hello old friend, good to see you," he said, shaking his hand politely. The man, who was a human, looked to Benjamin with a warm smile, reaching his hand out to shake his as well. "Hello, I'm John .. now, come in, come in," he urged them, letting Cesare lead the way inside. They walked through the restaurant and up to a small yet cozy brick terrace where they could watch the ocean from. Above them hang cozy lamps and vines to make the area more unique. "What can I get you started with?" John asked eagerly making Cesare chuckle as he held the chair out for Benjamin to sit, "give us some time to look at the menu, I'm an old man." He reminded him which seemed to make John chuckle, shaking his head as he placed a card in front of each of them before leaving them to themselves. Up here they were pretty much alone, though Cesare hadn't really booked the whole terrace, it was clearly something that his old friend had arranged.

Oh Joe hadnt been serious at all, but on the other hand was it really that surprising? If he had a list like Joe imagined, then surely he would use it at some point? The cheeky smile made him roll his eyes a little. The old man stepping out did startle the human a little, enough to let go of the vampyre, though it seemed to be a perfect timing as the old friends greeted each other. The old man looked his way and Joe took his hand a little reluctantly, maybe a bit shy? It was odd, he didnt think he was really that shy of a person normally, reserved for sure but shy? Maybe it was because this was a date, their first none the less. “I’m Joe.” He greeted him before they were urged inside. Joe followed, and it looked quite nice. It was warm in colour and the view was great. He thanked Cesare for pulling out the chair but he didnt know what to get already! He hadnt even seen a menu. Cesare seemed to remind him and Joe felt a little thankful for that. They were left with the menus and Joe exhaled with a slight tremble, maybe feeling a little tense and nervous. But how could he not? Even if it was empty around them, this was a date. “Old friend?” He asked to soothe his own nerves and think of something else.

Cesare knew that John could be a bit overbearing, but he had also prepared for that. He knew that he had sorta spooked Benjamin, but hopefully this was much more of a calm scenery than having to sit downstairs where waiters would move by quickly. The question made him hum, nodding yes as he looked through the menu, "Known him for quite some time .. he grew up here, and I met him in Central when he was training as a chef - so he's sorta the reason I got to know this place," he said. Looking up from the menu card he smiled softly, moving his hand under the table to take his hand gently. "Take some deep breaths .. just like you said .. it's only me." It had soothed him last night when he had been the one to be nervous, and now he could return that favor. If he let him, he just held his hand gently under the table, hopefully helping him calm his nerves a little. "I know you're usually into just chicken and rice, but the steak here is really good; oh and the lamb too," he knew he maybe wasn't the best to point out things to eat, but he had heard other guests compliment those things in particular many a times. "I think I'm gonna get a steak," he smiled. He didn't want Benjamin to eat alone, and seeing as a proper date had a meal, he couldn't just skip it.

Joe nodded and hummed, though he seemed a little restless in his seat. The hand that touched his under the table actually helped quite a lot, at least to keep him from trembling. But his hands felt clammy and he hoped that the vampyre wouldnt mind. “You’re right.” He muttered, taking in a few deep breaths. Maybe he should have smoked before, but now he was just dealing with it as it was. He didnt pull his hand from the cold one, finding the touch too soothing to break. “It does look good from the menu too.” He said thoughtfully, moving through the different options. “I guess we both get the steak then, since you recommended it. I’ll see if you’re right.” He chuckled, feeling a little less tense now that he had the vampyre’s hand. Odd how a simple touch could do so much. “For drinks, water is fine.” He said, because it was frankly the cheapest and he didnt like fizzy or sugary drinks all too much. Even with alcohol did he often tell bartenders not to add sugar if they could avoid it. He wasnt really born with a sweet tooth in the sligtest.

The human looked as if he was perhaps starting to relax a little. It hopefully helped to hold his hand. They both seemed to settle on steak, but as Benjamin insisted on water he thought about it for a bit. "I actually want a glass of red wine .. would you mind?" He asked, because if the human didn't want alcohol at all then it was fine too. However blood was just easier to hide away in darker drinks. "I could get us a bottle and you could taste it - if you find it terrible, you don't have to drink it," he suggested. Giving his hand a soft squeeze he pressed a small button close by the table which made the host downstairs know that they were ready to order. John came up, taking their order with a big smile and nodded as Cesare stated he wanted his on the rarer side. "An ashtray?" he asked and John just chuckled, walking over to a small station where he grabbed one, placing it on the table between them, telling them that he would be right back with their drinks. "Go on .. smoke; I can feel your nicotine shakes," he teased gently. They were outside, and there were ashtrays for a reason. He did know the human rather well in that regard at this point. He looked out at the view, smiling as he just let his eyes rest on the sky that had all sorts of nuances of pink and purple and orange. It was soon going to be dark, but the lamps above them would keep their area lit for them. "I'm so happy we didn't have to spend our first date with you working and me just waiting for you at the bar," he admitted. Of course he had already expressed that, but just looking at the place around them and the man across from him, he really couldn't imagine anything else. "Now, I know you like cars and working out, and of course working .. but what did you want to be when you were a kid?"

"I dont mind." he assured him with a small smile. He had sort of figured that it was an easy way to consume blood, so he wouldnt cheat him off it. He had meddled quite enough in the vampyre's business when it came to blood so he wouldnt think further of it. The suggestion of a bottle made him shrug. "Sure. But dont get your hopes up." he grinned softly. "-I dont really like wine that much." he warned him. It was quite fancy that all Cesare had to do was press a button. He watched the old man approach them and the vampyre's request for an ashtray made Joe look at him with a surprised look, though he was also rather grateful. The ashtray was placed and Joe felt the itch right away. The tease made him scoff softly. "I dont want to breathe smoke on you." he said, though he turned to his side a little as he could feel the small bit of wind on his face; That was a good sign. He didnt let go of the vampyre as he fished out his packet with one hand. It was quite easy for him to fetch a cigarette regardless and he lit it with one hand too. He held the cigarette away from the table and sighed. He could already feel himself relax more and it was nice. "I wouldnt have done that to you." he said with a shake of his head. If anything, had it been show up or get fired, then he would have opted for them to move the date. Even if that felt rather rude as well. The question about his childhood dream made him look down as he thought about it. "Uh... A truck driver. I met a lot of them whenever we got fresh produce or whatever that was needed. I thought it was pretty cool that they could just drive anywhere they wanted." he explained, exhaling the smoke away from the table, chuckling a little as he thought of some fond memory. "One guy, Larry. He used to let me sit in his truck and even let me drive on his lap when I was very small. We'd go to the edge of town and there my mom would be waiting, because it wouldnt be alright to just leave a kid there." he said, looking out on the sea as his smile lingered for a bit before he lifted the cigarette to have another drag. "It was maybe a bit weird to trust strangers blindly, looking back. But I was only taught that vampyres were bad. They didnt really say that humans were assholes too. I learned that when I moved away." "... And what did the kid on the harbor want to be? A sailor? A captain?" he asked, in a slight tease, but he was curious to hear.

He gladly listened to the fond memory, mostly because he loved hearing stories that Benjamin told him. Seeing him smoke and get more relaxed meant it had been the right call to ask for an ashtray, though the handholding was so cute. It made him feel very validated. And while it wasn't crazy and out in public, it was just about the two of them anyways. He chuckled softly at the notion about human assholes, "Well in my experience there's assholes in every race," he shrugged, and he had the catalogue of memories to back that up. Though he wouldn't focus on the negative. "I think it's nice to think that your idea of going anywhere you wanted was to be a truck driver," he said rather genuinely. He knew that Benjamin had mentioned always longing for adventure and getting out in the world, so this story made a lot of sense. "And I'm sorry to inform you, but I actually don't have a truck," he chuckled, just making a light joke because the ones around him always seemed to think he owned one of everything. Though that was far from the truth. The question was returned with a lot of guesses as well, though he waited with talking as a waitress came up with their drinks, placing a small and rather elegant vial next to the bottle of wine, pouring some fresh water into each of their glasses before leaving. He stared a bit at the vial before he briefly let go of his hand to open the bottle of wine, just to let it air out for a bit. Reaching down once more, he held his hand. Was he being needy? Most likely, but he opened his mouth and started replying to the question. "I wanted to discover the world .. but growing up I was sorta put into a role of expectancy .. I was to bring the family out of its disgrace, and I spent many years just doing that," he hummed softly, tiling his head a little as he looked out towards the horizon. "But one day I just got on a ship; nobody stopped me and the world didn't fall apart around my ears, so I never really looked back." It was maybe a little crazy to imagine, but Cesare had been quite young at that point. The new world was still very new, and there were so many lands to discover still. "However I think looking back what I really wanted was a stable home; I wanted to be someone that could provide for my family, and I still do send them money," he admitted, looking down as that was a part of his life he didn't really know if he wanted to dive into.

"I was homeschooled and I didnt know better. Had I known better, then I would have wanted to be a steward on a plane. Then I would have seen the whole world quite fast." he shrugged. And a truck driver didnt seem too bad. He probably would have if it wasnt because he had realized that it was quite time consuming in the end. The remark of the vampyre not having a truck made Joe scoff softly. "Good. I would have been too tempted." he said with a slight roll of his eyes, though he liked this. It was quite nice. He didnt mind that Cesare didnt answer while their drinks were served. He would have been the same, pretty much. He kept smoking away from the vampyre, thanking for the drinks rather politely before he looked at Cesare. He slowly ran his thumb over the vampyre's knuckles in a soft stroke. He exhaled the smoke from his lungs to have a last few drags while the vampyre was answering the question. Disgrace? Joe pushed the question out of his mind, but he did note it down as it woke curiosity. Not that it was something to speak of on the first date. The story however took a turn that Joe didnt expect. Cesare just went away? Just like that. It was odd to imagine, because Joe had dreamed of that so many times. Maybe hoped that Larry would just never stop and take him away from his hometown. He listened and nodded. "I feel like stable homes are so rare. More rare than unicorns. Or whatever that is rare." he shrugged, so maybe it was too much to really dream for. "But didnt you kind of achieve that then? With the family you have now?" he asked, tilting his head a little, snuffing out his cigarette before leaning his head into his hand while resting the elbow on the table.

"Don't tempt me with such fantasies as you dressed in a steward uniform," he chuckled softly, though he meant it. He was perhaps a little cheeky in that regard, but of course he had to. How could he not? When he started speaking about rarity of stable homes he hummed softly in agreement. "You don't have to tell me twice," he smiled, though he understood the analogy. The follow up however made him frown, shrugging as he wasn't quite sure. "I have my moments of instability," he admitted. He wasn't without flaw. He could be ruthless and risk-taking, just as much as he could be kind and giving. Sometimes he wondered if he was as mad as his father. Other times he wondered if he was as mad as his mother. But sometimes he hoped he was as gentle as he had dreamt of being. "I want to do better by them, and yet sometimes it feels like I take two steps forward only to take five back," he chuckled softly before he shook his head. "Let us not dwell on this, I'm sorry." Instead he poured both of them a glass of wine, before adding the vial to his glass. The red absorbed the red and the strong smell of grapes hid the scent of blood. "I still have much to achieve .. but hopefully I'll have a very handsome and very clever boyfriend by my side," he smiled, lifting his glass as a small toast. "To us."

"Dont get ahead of yourself. Behave." he muttered, looking away with a slight smile over his lips. He had been rather genuine. If he had known then he would have been out seeing the world. But a part of him was happy that he wasnt. The confession made Joe shrug. "Right. So like any other normal person?" He chuckled. Sure, vampyres were perfect predators in regard to luring and hunting their prey, but werent they just people too? He quite preferred that the vampyre wasnt just perfect through and through. The mention of steps made Joe nod, but as he apologized, the human shook his head. "I dont mind." he said, smiling softly. The wine was poured and Joe watched the blood sort of just disappear into the liquid. Odd how that worked. "I dont know who you're seeing, because I'm neither of those." he argued. He at least wouldnt say he was all too clever. Humble at best. He grabbed the wine and toasted with the vampyre. "To us." he agreed, taking a small sip of the wine. It was easier on the tongue than most wine he had had but he still pulled an expression as he found it rather sour. "Ugh." he exhaled with a shiver of his shoulders. "I'll have to get used to that." he shook his head. The conversation was pretty casual after that though Joe had to say that he liked that just as much as deep conversation. "I used to sneak into the neighbors garden just to steal strawberries. They were always sweet and savoury." he said as he started the story, looking at the food, not even knowing where to begin. He almost didnt want to let go of the vampyre and forgot that he was in the middle of a story.

He hushed on him, a smile on his lips as the human started to argue, "I'm spoiling you tonight, remember? So shut up and let me love you," he spoke rather lightheartedly. He couldn't ever tell him to really shut up, but in this scenario he felt it was justified. The human was too good at selling himself short. There was no need for that here. The small toast followed by the wine was a bit cute of them, wasn't it? Though his reaction made him chuckle he just shook his head, "just because we're together doesn't mean you have to like everything I like," he argued. He took another sip of his glass as he liked the sourness. It at least tasted of something to him. Their casual conversation was sweet and engaging. He liked sharing small stories, not anything that needed to be connected, just sharing stuff. The story was sounding interesting before the human looked down to the food. Cesare smiled, feeling the linger quite clearly. He hummed, giving his hand a loving squeeze before he took the initiative to let go. Though he did move his leg so it would be pressing against his. "I'm still here with you .. enjoy your food before it gets cold .. pick a place, and just dig in," he urged him with a soft smile. Cesare really wanted to see his reaction, and he was really hoping he liked it. His stake looked cooked on the outside, but the inside was rather raw and filled with blood. However in the dim light and with the trick of some spices, the human would barely be able to notice. It was all about blending in and being apart of the experience. "You said you snuck into your neighbors garden to get strawberries .. are you a big fan of those?" he wanted to know, cutting a piece of stake off that he put between his lips, chewing it quite calmly. Perhaps he would never get used to chewing, but he could at least appreciate that the blood within would fuel him.

"Wine is simple. Like beer. Or whiskey." he said with a shrug. It wasnt that big of a deal. "And I can get used to it if I want to. I want to enjoy things with you." he smiled. Was that so weird? He however wouldnt accept if the vampyre found that adorable. The vampyre opted to let go and Joe sighed before he reluctantly let go of the now tempered hand. He grabbed the utensils around the plate. He tried out the meat first, having ordered it medium. It was quite promising at the cut but he hadnt expected it to be as good as it was. Or he hadnt had any idea that anything could be this good. The seasoning was on point mixing with the juices of the meat. He was reminded of his story and he chuckled. "Oh yeah. I like them." he said before he sighed, thinking of where he was heading with the story. "They did of course find out rather quick. And when I went one night, the old lady sat in the garden waiting. She handed me a bowl and told me to take as many as I wanted." he said, drawing in a deep breath. "They were very old. I didnt get to spend much time with the old lady. But I did get all the strawberries I wanted." he remarked.

"There's so much else to enjoy with me than wine," he smiled, "though I have to admire your stubbornness as this sounds like a fight I won't win." He was right though. Benjamin was as stubborn as it got, but he also admired that a lot. He stood his ground when he had to. Not only that but he was very driven, even if he didn't see himself as such. Watching the human dive into the food he saw the expression, making him very happy. It was hard to pick out a place not really sure what he liked, but he seemed to let loose a little. Perhaps a cheat day was good every now and again. He continued the story, nodding as he took another bite of his stake, chuckling softly at the imagery of a small Benjamin stuffing his face with strawberries. It actually sounded very endearing. "Old age or not, they sounded kind and you still remember them for that kindness I take it?" He was indirectly asking, though at the same time assuming. "Some families believe that as long as you keep memories of someone, they will stay alive," he pondered, taking a sip of his wine as he just looked at him for a good few seconds. Just taking him in as he was right now. He looked relaxed. As if all the nerves were gone and it was just the two of them now. "I don't know if I believe it, but I guess it's more of a comfort for the living," though that was a bit crude of him. "I would've loved to see a little version of you just stuffing your face with strawberries," he chuckled keeping the mood light and sweet. "Are kids something you want?" he asked, just mostly in passing, "not now of course," he chuckled shaking his head no, "but in the future?"

Joe was not going to budge on the wine. He even narrowed his eyes and took a daring second sip, even if his reaction was quite like the first. Maybe it was better to drink with the food rather than plain. And yet he worried that he would ruin the taste if he had wine once he tasted the food. He had a few bites before he dared to also take a sip of the wine. With the lingering taste of the food, was the wine actually quite alright. The flavours complimented each other and he could recognize that. “I mostly remember them because I got strawberries. It sucked when their kids came around after they passed and the garden died out.” He shrugged. And he had even tried, though a kid knew nothing about gardening on a whim. “They were very kind old people. I think I liked them more than my parents.” He sighed. It was interesting how all stories he told had little to no mention of his parents. But was it surprising? Not really. The comfort for the living made him hum. “I guess.” He shrugged. As a living it would be his comfort after all if that was what the vampyre was insinuating? Cesare then said something that made the human frown. “Well you would have still looked like this if you did. It would be messed up.” He shook his head and chuckled. The question about kids made him think, with a small thoughtful frown but then he sighed. “I dont think I’d ever want kids. I feel more like I could be a great uncle. Not so much a dad.” He shrugged, looking down at his plate, poking some of the vegetables. Definitely not a topic he really liked. “I spent a lot of my childhood running and trying to get away from my family. I-… I wouldnt know how to be a parent. So I guess it doesnt speak to me. I would love if Sadie had a kid or something… but my own?” He just pondered out loud, clenching his jaw before he took a sip of the wine.

"Well on that one you might be right," he chuckled, shaking his head a little as it was a bit silly to imagine, wasn't it? Though it didn't really change that it would've been fun. But maybe he had been imagining it more as if they had both been kids, though that suggestion would probably bring out more questions. As they were already on the topic of kids, he thought it was an appropriate question to ask, though the human's reaction made him feel like it might've been a mistake. He reached under the table, taking his hand and giving it a squeeze. "You'd be the best uncle; spoil those kids rotten with all sorts of toys and treats," he wanted to focus on the good things. He sighed softly as he nodded a bit. "I suppose I already have all the children I really need," smiling as he of course meant his sires. But weren't they his responsibility just as much as a kid would be? "You don't have to explain or excuse yourself all the time," he then said, a small frown on his face, but his eyes were gentle and sweet. "If you don't want something then you don't have to justify it." He felt that was only fair to the both of them. But sometimes stating what you didn't want could help find out what they wanted from this relationship. Of course it was all still very early, and this was just silly talk. Giving his hand a squeeze once more, he sought those beautiful brown eyes he loved so much. "Though I do know what I want," he said, looking down to the human's lips and back to his eyes. "however I think it's best to wait with dessert, don't you think so?" He was as always being charming, even when hinting at a kiss. He let go of his hand carefully to return to eat and drink.

He felt the cold hand squeeze his but he was sort of already moving down the spiral. The squeeze and the encouraging words made him smile a little. “Do you have them… actual children by the way I know them too?” He asked. Might as well now that they were on the topic. The reminder that he didnt have to explain or excuse made him shrug. The addition made him look down with a faint sad smile. “I’ve had to justify everything my whole life. So I’m sorry if it sticks.” He said, hoping that the vampyre could understand that he might not change any time soon even if he really wouldnt have to explain or justify anything. He felt the vampyre move to catch his eyes and he looked up at him. The words were leading and as he noticed how he was glancing down at his lips, Joe chuckled softly. “No desserts on first date.” He said, shaking his head. If the vampyre was confused by that, then Joe shrugged. “I used to do that all the time. No dessert on the first date so the second date already has a purpose.” He explained before he sighed. “We’d be forced to do it soon as well. You can wait too long with dessert.” He pondered out loud before he continued to eat. He did manage to drink two glasses of wine with his food. Once they were both done, Joe was quite adamant on saving the dessert for another time. So if there was no other plans for them than dinner, then they would be heading back. Joe would be rather excited about that. “That was really good.” The human said, having locked arms with the vampyre, being slightly tipsy but nothing that was affecting him more than a light buzz. He was just in a really good mood. The date would be ending soon. And Joe did have a small trick up his sleeve. Once they were back, Joe would stop Cesare from opening the door, looking at him. “We’ll have to end it like a real date.” He said, reaching over to gently cup his face. “So I’ll be cute. And you’ll tell me you had fun tonight.” He said, rubbing his cheekbone softly before letting go to wrap his arms around the vampyre’s neck. He leaned in to softly kiss him, drawing it out for a bit before he pulled away. “Okay. Thanks for a lovely night. Goodnight Cesare.” He muttered against his lips. He then went inside to close the door, leaving the vampyre behind. He only waited a few seconds before he opened the door again and pulled the vampyre inside, holding onto his arm as he connected their lips in an eager kiss. The date had ended, so so had the rules?

No dessert on the first date made him hum, though the follow up made him chuckle, "so I suppose if you weren't really into the person on the date, you would get dessert?" Asking rather than wondering. It was just funny to hear how his mind worked. However dinner soon had to end and as the check came Cesare offered to split the bill. It wasn't a too expensive place, as Benjamin would find out, and it actually wasn't that much more expensive than a regular restaurant in Central. Regardless it was clear both of them had had fun. He gave him a small tour of the town, just so he could see all the small nooks and crannies though he would probably have to come here a few times to really take it all in. As they were just about to reach the house Cesare was a bit surprised that he stopped, but feeling the warm hand against his cheek he knew he would have to follow the orders. Walking the rest of the way back he smiled, stopping at the door he turned to him. "I really enjoyed just spending some time getting to know you," he said, which was genuinely spoken. He had liked sharing stories and having simple laughs. It felt normal. It felt like a real relationship. The arms moved up, wrapping around his neck and in response, Cesare opted to rest his hands on his hips. The kiss he leaned into, pouting lightly as he pulled away. "Goodnight sweet Benjamin, let's do this again soon." He remained standing as he watched the human close the door. The wait felt almost painful, seconds felt like hours, but then the door finally opened. He was pulled in, a grin on his face as their lips greeted each other once more. Wrapping his arms around him, he grasped at his clothes, moving further into the vacation home. Sighing against his lips he soon enough introduced his tongue, licking the human's lips to get a taste. He tasted of wine and cigarettes, making him moan softly, already knowing how much he was crumbling up the nice shirt he was wearing. Pulling away he was panting a little, but also giving the human time to actually breathe. "How about a second date?" He asked with a cheeky smile, his hands slowly releasing the shirt, moving down to press his hips closer. "I could really go for some dessert."
