He was just enjoying the closeness and how comforting it felt until the vampyre grasped at his hips; a feeling he hadnt felt in a long time. The whisper made his cheeks flare up with warmth and he leaned away to look at him with vulnerable eyes. If it was what the vampyre really wanted, then Joe wouldnt have said no. The addition about the wedding made him sigh softly. “Well why not? We could sneak off to somewhere and catch up on what we’ve missed. Seems to be an ongoing pattern either way.” He muttered the last bit before he looked at the vampyre with vulnerable eyes. “I’ll be expecting it now.” He told him before he returned to hugging him. Feeling the kisses on his neck, he relished in them and how it made everything in him feel so good. If only it could soothe all of his problems to have the vampyre kiss him with such loving lips. “I know.” He sighed. Louis showed up, folding her hands. “I’m sorry but I think Joe will need some time to relax before his next feeding. I have had Lily escort the human home” She said, though Joe frowned a little. “I want Cesare to stay.” He said, grasping at the vampyre. Louis sighed. “You’ve done well today but it can shift from one feeding to another, Joe.” She reminded him. Joe was steadfast, looking at the vampyre with vulnerable eyes before looking at Louis with a small frown. “Let him stay while I rest.” He pleaded, the daemoness eyeing the vampyre with a contemplating eye.

Oh how tempting it was, to know that he could simply pull him closer than ever, connecting once more, but he had to listen to reason. So as Louis showed up he knew he had overstayed. In fact he maybe shouldn't even have been here, but he had been granted time with him, and that had to be enough for now. He got up with Benjamin, smiling at him a little sad, "and then what? You'll want me to stay for after your feeding, and then for your following rest?" He chuckled softly, touching his cheek gently. He looked to Louis with a rather respectful gaze, she had the authority here, and it was in everyone's best interest to listen to her. "Would you grant that he could follow me to the car? I private moment between him and I?" Perhaps he had already gotten more than what he should have, "I brought him a gift," he explained in a low tone, knowing that Benjamin would be mad but that it would be worth it.
If they were granted as much, they would walk around the house, hand in hand as Cesare spoke of the other wedding plans, and how the table arrangements were almost settled now. "She of course wants you up at the table with her and Martin," he said as that was quite obvious. They reached the car, and it was clearly one that he had spoken about before. Letting the daemon geek out about it a bit as he just chuckled, telling about it; its production year, what needed to be fixed as well as some tweaks that Cesare wished to have done to it. "I don't want to put stress on you, but you can have this here to fix on as you please - any parts I'll pay for, just state my name when ordering and it should be fixed," he said giving his hand a squeeze, "if you're going to a nice wedding, you should at least have a nice car to drive in to get there."

Cesare was right, if Joe was allowed one loophole, he would jump right into the next one. Just anything to really get to spend time with the vampyre. Louis however wasnt seemingly budging. Cesare’s request was lighter and doable. She just nodded before she gave Joe a look. He was not to ruin all the progress he had been making already. “It was nice meeting you Cesare.” She said, smiling before she gestured for them to go ahead. Joe was a little saddened and irritated. Was it a crime to want to spend time with his boyfriend? The boyfriend he hadnt seen in so many days? He followed Cesare as they walked hand in hand, listening but with a sad expression. “Where will you be?” He asked before they reached the car.
He looked at it and back at the vampyre before he noticed what kind of car it was. He quite geeked out instantly, walking closer to it, inspecting it from a distance, while Cesare explained. “Oh Cesare I cant take this beauty away from you.” He argued, with his better vision, he could truly see how well kept the car was. Though he still struggled with his strength to really begin fixing things, he was making progress.
He turned to the vampyre looking serious. “I dont know what to say.” He admitted because it was such a nice car that he didnt know whether to decline out of respect for it’s true beauty or because he still didnt want to be spoiled. And yet… maybe the car could slip under the spoil limit simply from how excited he got from seeing it and the curiosity to open it up and see how it looked under the hood too.

He chuckled softly at the question, "well the couple has insisted I should sit by your side," he said, as if it wasn't obvious, "as I am representing both the bride and groom's side." He was the sire to both of them, so not giving him a spot at the table would perhaps be considered quite odd. Besides that, nothing was going to keep him away from sitting next to his boyfriend at a wedding such as this. It would be quite the occasion.
As he showed him the car and the reaction was as he had hoped. The excitement was clear, and the way he looked at it made it all worth it. Of course the daemon tried to argue but Cesare wouldn't have it, shaking his head no as it was clear that this couldn't be changed. He wanted this, and ever since mentioning the car he knew it was meant for the daemon. He would appreciate it so much more than the vampyre would ever do. The admittance made him chuckle, kissing his temple, "you don't have to say anything my love .. as long as you accept it as a gift." He wanted him to have it. Having bought it a long time ago, the daemon couldn't even argue that he had bought it for him. A loophole in a sense.
He studied as the daemon went around front, lifting the hood to inspect it. It had a few parts that needed fixing, but all the parts were original. "I can feel Louis' warning eyes on the back of my skull," he chuckled, moving over to wrap his arms around the daemon, holding him close for a little while kissing his hair in a few places. "We'll see each other soon .. and by then I'll give you all of the loving touches we have missed," he promised him, pulling away only to lean in and kiss his lips in a tender goodbye. He hated goodbyes. But at least he knew he was leaving Benjamin in safe hands.

Joe was relieved to hear that they would be sitting next to each other. He wouldnt have had anything else. And it made sense with Cesare being what he was to the couple. Joe was already looking forward to it, quite a lot as well.
Cesare didnt seem to change his mind and Joe felt it was a shame to just leave the car. He at least couldnt do that if the vampyre refused to take it back. He looked at the car with his eyes slightly narrowed. "You are unbelievable." he muttered, both in astonishment and annoyance at how clever the vampyre could be. He went to the front and looked inside as it was opened up. The mention of Louis made him come back to reality and he looked to the vampyre, drawing in a deep breath. "Alright." he sighed, reaching around the vampyre to hug him close. He kissed his shoulder before he leaned away to kiss his lips.
He didnt want to go but he had to. He reluctantly let go of the vampyre before he headed back towards the inside. He stopped by the door, turning, sort of hoping that the vampyre was still there. "I'll see you soon." he said regardless of either options.

Cesare reciprocated the longing goodbyes, and promised that he would always be there rooting for him, even if he couldn't see it. The vampyre remained standing, and as the daemon headed away he chuckled, "hey!" Yelling out to get his attention. When he did, he threw him the keys to the car with a chuckle, "I love you," he yelled, seeing him off before he headed down the streets. He felt quite lucky to have seen him today, and seeing his progress he just knew that he had to work even harder himself.

Inside Lily had returned, hauling her art supplies up the stairs to her room. "Hey, uh, Joe," she smiled, knowing he was probably not in the mood for her teasing right now. Instead she chose to be genuine, "how about we give it a go with the painting stuff," they had discussed him just trying to come up and be creative with her. The way you had to be careful with a brush would help him get some more control over his body, at least that was the theory.
If he agreed she would hand him a bag of supplies. The room she worked in had a smell of all kinds of mediums, some oil paints, some acrylic. It really depended on her mood what she chose. "It was nice finally putting a face to your boyfriend .. oh, and Mark was super cute," she smiled, just to do some nice conversation about what had happened if he had joined her. If not that was completely fine as well.

He turned as he was called on, grabbing the keys that were thrown to him. "I love you too!" he returned the yell, chuckling a little, seemingly not minding yelling on the street. He did watch him go before he headed back inside. He was feeling a little down after that so when he saw Lily, he didnt quite know what to say. The suggestion was nice and he just softly hummed and nodded. Though he wouldnt say that he was much of an artist but he was willing to try.
He took the bag of supplies and followed her upstairs, placing the bag on a nearby table before she spoke of Cesare and Mark. "Well, I was intending on having him come over at some point." he argued with a shrug. "Mark wanted to come by again at some point before going back." he said before he sighed. "I dont know when Louis will let me see Cesare again. I guess she'll push it now when it wasnt planned." he pondered but couldnt know. Maybe that was why she was the one guiding him on how to navigate his new life, because she knew when and what was good for his growth. "But I hope not." he scoffed, having grabbed a brush that he felt with the tip of his finger.

Lily smiled at the mention that Mark would visit again. They had had a pretty pleasant talk as she helped him home. And perhaps they had flirted a little? Lily surely did, but she wasn't sure if it was reciprocated or if he had simply been nice. Humming at the notion of her strict grandmother she nodded, "well he did show up uninvited," she pondered, preparing a canvass for Benjamin, just adding some primer to the surface for him to easily mix the colors on it. "My grandmother is stern, but she's not heartless - if she was she would've thrown him out the moment she knew who he was," she reminded him. In fact, she was surprised she hadn't, but perhaps she had deemed it alright as long as it wasn't going too crazy.
"You have that wedding too - and I've already told my grandmother that you have to go," she nodded. She was on his side in this. Guiding him in the medium of acrylic she had given him, she showed him how to hold the brush and that he should just practice not pressing too hard on the canvas. Paint getting on there would be nice, but for now it wasn't about creating, but about feeling. "Mark .. is he .. into women?" She asked a bit out of the blue as she worked on her own painting. "I mean I don't want to assume, but he was giving me some looks and well .. he's rather handsome."

The vampyre did show up uninvited and if Joe hadnt been in such a good mood today, then it would have been catastrophic. And that was putting it mildly. Louis had been kind today. But the elder daemoness also knew what she was doing. At least Joe had to trust that she did. “I’m really glad she didnt.” He admitted. That would have maybe caused a stir.
“It’s my sister’s. I dont want to miss it.” He confessed, looking at the motion she showed once he had the grip right. He didnt think he could ever male something of meaning but this way, would he at least be able to train control over his own body.
The question about Mark made him chuckle. “I do think he is. But I guess you’ll have to ask him.” He said before he was distracted by a sudden thought. “Did he go out of his way to touch your shoulder when you let him go? Just like a light squeeze?” He asked. If she confirmed then he’d chuckle, but not exactly disclose why it was important, nor why he was chuckling about it. He could be teasing even in a saddened mood when he wanted to.

PostSubject: Re: The everyday monsters in our lives   The everyday monsters in our lives - Page 37 EmptyWed Aug 31, 2022 5:19 pm

"Oh wow, congrats!" She smiled, "I love weddings; mostly for the free drinks and the music." Was she being shallow? Yeah, but she also didn't really care what others thought of her. She was her own creation after all, but perhaps also her own harshest critic. She was just finishing up some background on her painting, really nothing special, which was why she could talk while painting. Usually she had music blaring or complete silence. It really depended on her mood.
She moved on to ask about Mark, and luckily Joe seemed seemed not to mind that she spoke of him. Her eyes widened a bit as he asked about the shoulder thing, "he did yeah," she said, looking intrigued. However she had seen that as a friendly gesture, not really a move that she had ever seen. "Would you be mad if I asked him out?" Lily was a rather direct person. She could be cunning, but when she found an attraction she usually jumped on it right away if there seemed to be any interest. "I mean I'm not hearing wedding bells, but he's really cute - besides if he comes around here again he might stick around for a bit longer than those three weeks," she chuckled. She actually really seemed to enjoy the time she was spending with Joe, and the rest of the day went relatively well.

A few days passed before Lily was down picking up the mail as her smile grew wider. Practically running into the house she handed the former human an envelope with beautifully written cursive on it clearly signaling an invitation. Inside it spoke of Martin and Sadie, their wedding as well as the date and wish list they had. Normally you would see toasters or money on it, but they requested no gifts because of the amount of guests they were having. What they did request was that everyone would write down a favorite memory of either the bride and groom and the one that was invited.

It was definitely not just a friendly gesture from Mark, but Joe wouldnt disclose that straight out. Her question about asking him out made the daemon shrug lightly. "I wouldnt." he just said to let her know that it was fine. He wasnt looking to police what she did nor what Mark would do. "Well whatever you want is fine. I'm not sure if he already has someone back at home, but I guess you'll have to find out." he chuckled. Though he couldnt really imagine it. He continued to paint as she had instructed, even if it didnt really seem to lead anywhere in a creative sense, it was nice to at least get the movements right.

Joe was sitting with a few spare parts that he had collected when they had been out. He was trying to disassemble what he could and then put it back together. His biggest hope was to not crush the finer parts. When Lily came in all filled with joy and handed him the envelope, he grabbed it and smiled as he saw the text. He opened the invitation and read the text, out loud for Lily to hear as well. He grinned softly and chuckled. "I'll have to call her right away." he said, getting up and grabbing his phone. He went out into the garden to call the number on the invitation. Once it was settled, he looked at his phone, seeing the vampyre's number there as well. He decided to call him up as well now that he was outside anway. He just wanted to hear his voice. Hear that he was doing fine. Hear anything at all.

Lily was just as excited, but reminded Joe that if he was going, then she would be added as his plus one. It was an agreement they had made with her grandmother, and the only stipulation for letting the daemon out of the house like that. Lily and him were a good team it seemed and where he was hotheaded she seemed to just laugh it off. In fact she hadn't been angry once.
Out in the garden Sadie was ecstatic to hear from him, disclosing that she had in fact chosen the dress that he had seemed to like. She also were a bit surprised that he was bringing someone, but as he explained it better she would be sure to have her added to the table planning, although not at the table with the family she supposed. After bidding her goodbyes she went and told Martin the good news.
However calling the vampyre would bring no such luck. It was clear that he wouldn't pick up, but he did send a message explaining that he was currently held up by a lot of practical stuff to do with the wedding. It wasn't far off, and now was the time to make sure all of the bookings were in place and the guests had received their invitations. It was also a bit stressful, but he promised that he would call him later if the daemon had time.
Lily came out to him in the garden, placing her head on his shoulder to look at his screen, "Nona says it's time for you to feed," she said in an encouraging tone, "and afterwards we can go out for a walk if you want it?"

He didnt mind having Lily come along as his plus one, it was after all his ticket to even being allowed to leave the house. He didnt really worry. They did compliment each other in that regard and he considered her quite a good friend already. Odd how he would ever have to feel that way about a daemon of all. But maybe it just showed that he had come a long way from where he had started when he first met Cesare.
Talking to Sadie, he was quite happy to hear her voice, hearing about the dress made him smile a little happily as he nodded. "You'll be beautiful." he said, feeling rather sure of it. He did explain that he needed his friend Lily to come around as well, hoping that it wasnt too much of a hassle. He did explain the reason why she was needed. He didnt want to keep any secrets from Sadie of all. He did voice how excited he was to see her again soon before the call ended.
When Cesare wasnt picking up, he did feel a little put down over it, but he also didnt feel like it was justified. He couldnt just demand that the vampyre was available at any given moment. He was reading the message when Lily joined him. "I know. I'm not uh.... feeling it as much today." he had to confess. He might as well be as open about his hunger as he could. The suggestion made him hum. "If I dont get in trouble." he said. Him being a hothead could after all get him in a bit of trouble.
He went to the kitchen before he grabbed a vial, looking at it. He frowned a little, drawing in a deep breath like that would help.

She wrapped her arms around him from behind - he pretty much had to accept that she was very easy to affection, but it was never anything romantic or even sexual. It was just how she was. "To be fair you always say that when you fell uncertain," she pondered, the corners of her mouth pulling up in a soft smile. She was good with him, not as stern as her grandmother, but a look into what life as a daemon could be. Besides she was roughly in the same age group as Joe was, so it wasn't weird that they hung out together. She chuckled at his remark, "we always get into trouble you and I," she giggled, releasing him to grab his hand, pulling him with her to the kitchen. He needed the encouragement today it seemed.
As he seemed to hesitate Lily just let him be for a while, though she had to keep an eye on him to make sure he didn't just fake it and washed it down the drain. She had seen that done before. "I'll need to get a dress for the wedding .. I can't show up looking too common," she pondered. It was a wedding with a lot of vampyres after all, and she refused to look anything but beautiful for such an event. Though knowing herself she would perhaps end up with no shoes dancing her mind away on the dancefloor. "Do you have a suit?" She then asked humming a bit. His muscles seemed to have grown a bit, but she wasn't sure if he had always been like this. Though perhaps a fitted suit would be well?

He didnt mind how she was rather affectionate because it was mostly harmless. He had been rather dismissive in the beginning but eventually she had grown or him; Or just hugged him enough times for him to not just care anymore. "Typically because of me." he rolled his eyes. They did get in trouble often, but mostly for things that werent bad. They ended up in the kitchen and he was looking at the vial, frowning to himself. He had considered many times to flush it, but he also knew that it wouldnt go unheard. It was like Louis somehow knew everything that was happening in the house at all times.
"Do you own common clothes?" he teased her to get his mind of the content inside the vial. She asked about a suit and he thought about it for a moment before he shook his head. "I'll have to go get one." he said. He was sure he had the money for it. Sure, having gone away had taken a bit out of his savings, but he refused to be helped out of good will. He opened the vial and poured it into his hand. Sometimes holding the soul made it feel less like it was the essence of a person. It seemed so... void. Like it wasnt really a real soul after all.

"I'll have you know that dressing as a slut is my prerogative," she stuck her tongue out at him, giggling as he certainly had been brought up to dress modestly. She was as far from that as possible, not minding if her ass was out or her choice of shirt would end up in a nip slip. She was confident in herself and her body, and she took no shit from people trying to put her down. Though she was of course aware that he was teasing her, and she liked that about him, her lips pulling up in a big smile. Watching him interact with the vialed soul was so strange, but she never really commented on it. He just had to do what he needed to get it down. "Well we could go look in some thrift shops?" She suggested, "getting a tailored one is so overrated, and with my luck we'll find one that will be good - hell Nona could even sew it in to fit you precisely." Yeah, there was no reason to waste money on getting a new suit when so many suits were basically handed out at the thrift stores for no money.

They wouldnt have been this good friends if Joe hadnt changed, but somehow he was happy that they were now. He looked at the soul, wondering if he could crush it - Though trying that now would probably lead to Louis somehow thinking that he was trying to figure out a way to avoid feeding. Lily's suggestion was good, though he had to admit that he was surprised. "You thrift shop?" he asked, looking at her with a small confused furrow of his brows. He then looked at the soul again before he eventually lifted his hand and sucked it in. It didnt feel like food and he missed the feeling of chewing and actually eating. "Yeah, sure we can go look. That would be easier on my wallet as well." he shrugged. He did have a hope that he eventually could go back to his old work when he was past all this. He leaned back against the counter, taking in a few deep breaths as he could feel himself getting rather upset about the soul. It was odd how his mood could flick like a switch.

"How do you think I can afford all of my sick outfits?" She chuckled. Sure, she did have some side hustles and her art did very well, but she liked saving that up for the future. Being immortal would suck without a savings account, she was sure of it. He eventually did get the soul down, and she let him be as he took his time digesting it. She had never really struggled with getting it down - perhaps because she was born a daemon - but she had struggled eating too much. That wasn't healthy either, as the hunger just took over and blinded you completely. She was patient, just standing with enough space between them for him to feel comfortable. Or as comfortable as he could be right now.
Once he was ready she smiled, "you're doing really good," she reminded him, putting on her shoes and grabbing her bag. They could just walk there, as it wasn't too far and the fresh air just had a good effect on him it seemed. "How's it going with the tinkering? Have you moved on to some car parts yet?" Safe to say she had been pretty surprised that he had gotten a car. She had of course teased him a little, but it was all in good fun. "You still owe me a ride," she chuckled, nudging his side a little.

He grabbed the counter and squeeze lightly, the wood of course complained but so far had he never broken it. It just helped him relax, feeling the resistance there was in the hard countertop. Louis had warned him that if he broke it then he would also have to replace it; and just to make things worse would he have to install it himself.
He eventually calmed down and was ready to move on. He was getting better at feeding for every passing day. He was a little reluctant with downing it but it did go down at some point; a thing he had really struggled with the first couple of days that he was here. Oh the fights he had had and lost because he didnt know how to navigate this new body. “I have not yet. I want to make sure I dont crush the parts I’ll be fixing. It’s a really beautiful car. And also very much my boyfriend’s. So I’d want to be sure I’m not ruining it.” Though he had to admit that he really missed getting his hands dirty from oilchecks or tinkering with some tubing; just anything that had to do with the car. “We’ll dive to the wedding.” He said. He didnt really want to drink, nor did Louis think it was a good idea. “Oh dammit. I should have asked if Mark was going to show.” He then remembered before he sighed. “I guess we’ll have to wait and see. Unless you’re full on texting now?”

She hummed, nodding as it was maybe a good idea to wait a little, but he was getting a lot better at controlling his strength. Of course it would maybe always be a bit of a struggle, she knew it could be for herself sometimes, but often it was just about practice. Besides, Churchill wasn't built in one day. As they walked it felt nice to just chat back and forth, the tease about Mark made her roll her eyes, scoffing softly, "oh please, we've been sexting for weeks now," she giggled, mostly in teasing but she had sent him some pretty raunchy pictures. "He's cute and really polite about everything .. he said he had gotten an invitation too and he may or may not have already booked a hotel room with a double bed, so.." It was funny how people got horny when it came to weddings, but she supposed it was because it was so centered about couples and romance. All the pheromones in the air, plus usually a lot of singles.
They reached the thrift store soon enough and she decided they should go look at a suit first, seeing as she could take a while finding the perfect outfit. "Blue looks good on you," she muttered looking through the selection, "and black is way too boring - I'm sure your boyfriend is going to wear something fancy, and you have to look even better." She was really liking how Joe spoke of Cesare. It really sounded like true love. "Oooh, how about this one?"

“Gross.” He said with a disgusted smile because he hadnt really needed to know that at any point. Not that he really believed her; But Mark was like a brother to him and it wasnt like they hadnt been behaving like siblings at best once the ice was broken. “Can you really just… not talk about banging my childhood friend in the same sentence you give me info?” He asked with a chuckle, shaking his head. She had lightened his gloomy mood already.
When they arrived at the thrift shop, he wasnt really sure where to even begin, but she did so he just followed her. The mention of blue made him a little unsure. It was a little daring to not go in all black right? She called it boring but he found it safe. “I want one that goes well with what he’ll wear. I want to match.” He said, shifting through some things. A lot of the suits were old. Some seemed cheap. And the good ones had a hole somewhere. He sighed. “I never really cared about what I wear. This is annoying.” He muttered the last bit. Why did it have to feel so complicated? He looked at the suit she picked out, moving his hand up to poke through a hole in the jacket. “Cigarette burn.” He concluded before looking at her.

"Come oooon, it made you smile," she teased, happy that it had worked a little at least. Once inside there were quite the few suits and she hummed, "do you know what color he'll be wearing?" she asked, as that would help them in their search. Rolling her eyes as he poked a finger through one she pulled at him, "alright, alright; maybe the selection is a little limited, but at least you wouldn't blow out your savings, right?" Not that she had any say in what he used his money on. Even besides that, some of these suits were nice. "This one's good," it wasn't quite black, but not quite grey either, more like a mix of the two. And as far as she could tell there was only a slight tear in the inner lining that was easy to fix and maybe a small hole on the inside of the pant pocket. "The legs are a little long, but that's an easy fix, and the shoulder's are quite a good match with yours - here, try it on," she urged him, ushering him towards the fitting rooms. She waited outside while he changed, looking at some fancy shoes they had for the men, pushing some under the door for him that looked pretty.

“No. I guess I’ll have to guess. But he’d have to wear something that fits his eyes. He has a unique color after all.” He pointed out. Had he been here on his own had he given up after the cigarette burn. But that was the good thing about Lily. She had set out to find a suit and so she would. The not completely black suit was actually quite fitting. He at least liked it. “I’ll try. I can roll up the legs and if it fits, we’ll find out how to sew them.” He agreed. In the dressing room he undressed. He didnt really look at himself often but he had been keeping up with his exercises on a light schedule. Which seemed to be fine either way because he already had built some good muscle. Maintaining it was all he needed. He looked over at his collarbone, seeing the vampyre’s mark. He reached up and touched it gently before he got dressed, hiding the mark away when he closed the jacket. He got into the shoes as well before he stepped out for the daemoness to see. “I guess I do like it.” He admitted, turning back to look at the mirror. “Oh your boyfriend looks so hadnsome.” An old lady smiled at Lily, Joe frowning lightly before he chuckled. “No, we’re not…”

He stepped out and she hummed, having him turn around just so she could inspect it all. The old lady's remark made Lily frown, "sorry to disappoint you miss," she just said with a smile and a passive aggressive tone. She hated when people assumed that they were a couple. They most certainly were not, and Lily would always make that clear. She shrugged before turning back to look at Joe, "I think you should go for it; I bet Nona could sew up those legs easily, and I can fix the inner seam and pocket if you'd like?" she smiled, "how bout the shoes? Not too tight, right?" Squatting down to feel where his toes were. It was a surprisingly good fit, she thought.
"Alright, a shirt and then a dress for me," luckily finding a shirt was much easier; there was plenty of them in different colors and with strange patterns even. Then it was on to dresses. She tried on a variety but eventually settled on a nice lilac one that hit her just before her knees. It was a little tight fitting, but not too tight. Fluffing up her hair in the mirror she tried on some shoes as well, "fuck my ass looks great in this," she muttered with a confident smile. Once they both had what they needed, they went up, paid for it all before putting the items in a bag.
Back outside in the fresh air she felt like she could breathe a little easier. "Sorry bout that old lady," she muttered, closing her eyes, "I'm just so sick and tired of people not getting that two people of opposite genders can be friends and not fuck." Scoffing softly she shook her head, the anger getting to her a little. "We should head back before I go back in and do something I'll regret," reaching down to hold onto his arm. She had her fair share of struggles as well.

The old lady did quite miss the snarky tone. “No, I guess he would do better than a girl with all that attitude.” She remarked rather rudely before she left them. One of the downsides with a thrift shop. It wasnt like the old lady needed them to buy something. So customer service was pretty much a gamble. “There’s no need to fix the pocket or inside. I wont be taking it off, and I’ll just use the other one?” He said as it wasnt that big of a deal. It was just supposed to look good. And it did. They found a rather fancy shirt to match and Joe hoped that the vampyre wasnt showing up in different colours.
While Lily looked for a dress did Joe go around, looking at whatever he could. He reached down into his pocket and took a moment to look at the cube. He touched it with his thumb before pressing lightly on it to squeeze it. When Lily was in her dress he came over and hummed. “That looks good.” He hummed with a nod.
Once they were done, and everything was paid, Joe did notice the old lady’s stern eyes on the young daemoness. It was just good that they had to go. Lily’s apology made him shake his head. “They were exactly like that back where I came from too. You just sort of ignore it eventually.” He said. He let her hold his arm before they went back. He went on to tell her some stories he had with him and Mark as kids just to give her something to talk about. One time they had been frog hunting but the rain the night before had made their shoes sink in the mud. It took them longer to figure out how to save their shoes abd they actually ended up not finding any frogs at all.
