Very odd that the cold wouldnt bother him. She could imagine that it would. Just because he did seem to be almost as warm as her. He stopped them on the bridge and the ducks on the pond was rather cute; though it was obvious that they would be gone soon enough. She felt the hand on her waist, leaning towards him with a small smile on her lips. And yet that faded once a familiar voice called out.
She turned her head and saw no other than Harper! Just the last person she wanted to see ever. “Hi Harper.” She said with a grin that almost hurt from how she was forcing it. But luckily smiling came natural to her, so she could even look genuine if she was feeling sad. She had practiced a lot.
Brunch? Mari didnt quite know what to say, because it felt so out of the blue. Was it because of Aiastes? When Harper asked for something, it usually was a command more than a request, in almost all cases. It also came natural to Mari to just do it, like a sort of get it over with thing. But she wasnt comfortable. Not that Harper could seemingly notice or maybe care at all.
She hadnt expected Aiastes to downright decline, but she felt a little grateful that he did. She looked at him with soft eyes, but Harper’s arguement worried her. Would he give in? He didnt, as he didnt budge at all. When he spoke to her, a soft happy grin spread on her lips. Wasnt she quite lucky to have him already?
The way he just rubbed salt in the wound and didnt care of whatever wrath Harper could unleash, it was exactly what she needed. “You’re right.” She hummed, before sending Harper a smile. “Thank you for the offer. But we’ll go now.”
They went off and she clutched on a little tighter to him. Was she falling in love? Most probably. She didnt quite think of it in the moment. “She does… it’s um… a very long story.” She had to admit, looking down at the ground. It wasnt a good story either, but after everything had Mari still chosen to be friends with her. His addition made her scoff. “We were best friends. Even after she slept with my boyfriend and made him break up with me.” She admitted. “She also mostly used me as a laughing stock, than a real friend.” She added before she let out a long sigh. “But I never wanted trouble. So I kept staying friends with her. Even when school was over. But she only ever called whenever she needed something. Or just someone who would listen and not talk.” She explained. It was deeper than that too but a walk wouldnt be enough to dive into it.
“Are we really going to my parents now?” She asked. It was a little early, wasnt it?

He felt how she held on tighter to him, and he knew he had made the right choice. Not caring whether he lied to someone was one of his traits, but he wasn't heartless. Listening to what Mari described he just hummed when appropriate, not really saying much. He wasn't all that knowledgeable in the friendships of Gambion. He was close with some of his family, but not all of them. And then there was the minor that he saw once in a while, but he had never experienced what Mari was explaining. Perhaps aside from the being used part, but delving into that felt like a pity party ready to happen, and he wasn't looking to put further stress upon her.
The question regarding her parents made him shrug lightly, "I wasn't planning on it .. it was just a good excuse to get away," he spoke as if it had been a logical decision that he had made rather fast. "We can spend our time together whichever way you wish for it," he said, turning his head to look at her, his strained smile was back and his eyes were soft, "maybe it's about time I try that cup of coffee." It was a suggestion more than a request, but he supposed they had a bit of time to kill, and he wasn't looking to make her feel trapped in that apartment. Leaning against her he looked into her eyes, "it is a date, correct?" Was he even using the right terminology? Unsure he leaned away again to look ahead, making sure they weren't walking into other pedestrians.

His answer made her eyes light up as she looked at him. A good excuse to get away. She appreciated it quite a lot and wasnt really afraid to show it. The assurance was nice and she nodded thankfully. Though this was pretty new to her. If he knew how much good he was doing for her already. And how down bad she got by the waking hour.
“I know just the place.” She chuckled to agree. It would be rather fitting seeing as it had been how they met in her dream too. The lean and question made her shift between the silver eyes, nodding softly. “Yeah it is.” She nodded. Chuckling a little she felt too giddy. And as they walked towards the coffee place was she already pulling up the menu in her head. “Do you want some recommendations?” She asked. If he agreed then she already had an assortment, fitting all tastes. If he wanted something sweet, there was always flavour to add, she said cinnamon syrup to fit the current season. There was always regular coffee, but also milk, with different milks that made it taste differnently. She had worked long enough to know what milk enhanced the taste and which made it milder. “If you’re really brave, then do a custom order. Though they might not always get it rifht. I at least dont.” She had to admit with a chuckle.

Nodding it was clear he did want some help in this department. She listed all kinds of things, but he wasn't sure what was good. He supposed he would just have to wait and see until they were there. She was leading the way regardless, passing shops and cafés until they came upon a nice and cozy coffee shop. The smell as they stepped inside was warm and aromatic, different scents in the air that all seemed to compliment the smell of coffee. Looking up at the menu he hummed, leaning down to her, "you're the coffee genius .. order me something you think I'd like," he whispered. He instead would find a table for them in the corner with a few cozy chairs where they could look out on the street. He quite liked this atmosphere. Perhaps he should've tried it sooner.
When she came over with the drinks he tried smiling at her once more. It was clear he was really making an effort here. "I hope this spot is adequate to your standards," he spoke rather genuine. There had been a few more options, but this felt more intimate. And that was what a date was really about, wasn't it? He sorta studied what she did in regards to the coffee, trying to mimic her a little as it was clear he hadn't done this before. "You really like your job I take it," he said, blowing softly on his drink as that seemed to be the norm before he took a sip. He was pleasantly surprised by how good it tasted humming and nodding in appreciation. "And now I can see why," he spoke softly before his eyes turned to hers. "I know I mentioned a trip before with the woman you didn't like .. is it something you want to make a reality; or perhaps a dream?" He looked to her with a suggestive look.

Coffee shops were pretty much on the list of places that made Mari feel at ease. Coffee shops and the sea. That was a simple list right? His whisper made her chuckle softly and she nodded. Since it didnt really sound like he had had coffee before, a sweet one would be a good introduction. She went and ordered that, and a caffeine free for herself. When she joined him with their drinks, did she look around as she sat down. “It’s perfect.”
She waited a bit with drinking, not wanting to scald her tongue on coffee. “It is a good job. The pay is alright. But I really like the contact with customers.” She shrugged. She was rather simple like that. Once it was tongue safe, she took a small sip, noticing how he was doing the same. It made her smile softly. He was rather cute, especially with his comment.
The mention of the trip made her look a little curious before his question made her look a little surprised. A trip somewhere? The other option made her narrow her eyes with a smile. She leaned a little closer. “I would like to hear more about it.” She remarked with a teethy smile.

PostSubject: Re: Dreaming a dream as someone who hates dreams but needs sleep   Dreaming a dream as someone who hates dreams but needs sleep - Page 5 EmptyThu Sep 08, 2022 10:33 am

He could see why this was a job she liked a lot. It seemed as though she fit right in with the cozy aesthetic. The fact that she indeed was taking interest in a trip made him a little relieved, but also happy. He wanted her to enjoy herself, and hopefully he could provide her some rest in the time she had. Humming he nodded, wanting to tell her of one of the thoughts he at least had to share with her. Of course it all depended on whether or not she wanted to visit his realm, but he supposed the waking world was more up to her standards of life. He placed his cup of coffee down on the table, adjusting himself a little though he probably still looked stiff as a board. "You are always talking of the beach, and while autumn has come I feel as though we could still come to enjoy the water," he said in a thoughtful voice. He didn't think flying in her condition was a wise choice. It might cause her more stress than what was good for her. "We could rent a vacation house for a weekend .. get out of town for a few days," he suggested. Was it too much?
"It would be good with some fresh air, besides I can't recall when I was last on an actual beach," he tried smiling once more, picking up his coffee cup, drinking from it and actually enjoying the flavors that mixed in his mouth. It was bitter yet sweet at the same time; he suspected the bitterness came from the beans and the sweetness from whatever was added to it. "Would you like that?" He asked, looking to her with his silvery eyes quite attentive. He wanted to make sure he wasn't forcing her to do anything, or make her feel obligated to do as he said. Just because he was helping her didn't mean she owed him anything.

She hummed softly at the mention of the beach, nodding. It made sense. But they would have to go somewhere warmer. Not that she wouldnt swim in the sea. She probably would all year. But was it baby safe too? She caught herself thinking about it so it was probably worth reading up on.
The suggestion made her nod and hum. “Sounds good to me.” She agreed. “I think it has been a while since I’ve gone as well.” She pondered out loud before taking a sip off her coffee. She was thinking about it when he asked if she wanted the suggestion. “And what if I wanted to go to your realm and spend time with you, because that was what you were suggesting right?” She lowered her voice for the last part, being genuinely interested in what he was thinking about that.

He couldn't help but be a bit surprised at her what-if scenario, but he would gladly entertain her, as well as have her visit. "I suppose it would be only reasonable to show you where I live," he said in a more genuine tone. It was sweet that she was considerate of her tone, but he didn't worry about what other people thought. Besides who in this narcissistic world would ever pay attention to two strangers speaking nonsense? "You could watch most of my realm from the high tower of my castle .. or visit the wonderous lake that changes shape and size with every hour .. perhaps rest in the Evergreen?" The possibilities were truly endless, and so was his realm.
"Or perhaps you would like to see what I've been working on as of late?" He lifted one eyebrow slightly, though it wasn't too visible unless you knew his stoic face. And at this point wasn't it safe to assume that Mari knew it quite well? "While you can't be there physically, it will still feel as real as any dream can feel." If he took her to his realm without precaution things could go horribly wrong, and so he found it better to do it the safe route while she slept. "Though I would like to remind you that you would have to wake up every day to eat and be a human," it was clear he couldn't keep her in the Formless lands more than a night at a time.

It would be reasonable that she knew where he lived, seeing that they were leading her parents on to be partners; at least while they were building up to eventually and actually be just that. Though of she thought about that now, she would blush and probably be embarrassed if he noticed. The mention of places piqued her interest but she then realized that he mentioned a castle. One that he had made on his own? “I mean, I would be your guest, so I’d see what you want me to see?” She smiled.
He spoke of her need to dream to be there and she sighed softly at it. “I guess that makes sense.” She nodded. She didnt know how it worked. And it wasnt like she only had to worry about herself. “Would you be there when I wake up?” She asked, taking a small sip of her coffee. Was it odd that she would want him to be there?

He nodded, but he did want her to have a say in this as well. If she had more fears like dogs, then he hoped she would tell him in time so he wouldn't go and embarrass himself. Then she asked a rather peculiar question. Perhaps not one he had ever answered, but he nodded, "if nothing requires me to stay back in my realm, then I will," he couldn't make promises like that. Especially not when his realm could be so fickle. It wasn't easy to destroy but it could be troublesome to manage. While he did think he had gotten himself some good council, he also very much liked going out to see it for himself.
They finished up their coffee. Aiastes had to admit he had been pleasantly surprised and that it wasn't like anything he had tried before. Heading outside the clouds above started to loom with darkness in the distance. "We better hurry home before the rain catches up to us," he said, offering her his arm once more. It seemed like he had gotten rather used to perusing with her like this. He would even go as far to say he really rather enjoyed it. "I have to admit, you are perhaps the most interesting human I have met in a long time," he had to tell her that, knowing how harsh she could be on herself. His strained smile returned along with his soft eyes, "I have so much I want to show you in my home, but I will have to split it up," he nodded to himself. He was not looking to capture her within the Formless Lands like that.

If he could, then he would. That was good enough a promise for her. Even if it wasnt ensured. She could at least look forward to it. Once their coffees were done and they got outside, she did notice as well that the clouds were getting darker. She liked the rain though. Probably was a given seeing that she loved the sea too. She grabbed onto his arm and hummed to answer his suggestion. “But if it does rain, then it’s not the end of the world. I find rain quite romantic.” She scoffed.
His remark made her look at him with a soft look in her eyes. “That’s sweet of you to say.” She replied, shifting between the silvery eyes. “We are in no rush. So you are free to plan it how you want.” She assured him. She wasnt really in a hurry as of how her life was now. Maybe in a few years. The droplets began to fall slowly, but she felt it on her cheek. “Do you mind getting wet?” She asked. She didnt really. Not as long as she knew she could dry off. But if he didnt like it, then she at least wanted to hurry for his sake.

Rain romantic? Well he supposed it had its charm, but he wouldn't call it romantic. Either way he just kept a steady pace that she could easily follow. Asking him if he minded getting wet made him frown, "I do not worry about getting wet," he simply stated genuinely and with a stoic expression. There was however clearly something else on his mind in regards to the rain. "But I do not wish to see you sick because of my carelessness," he stated quite plainly. He looked to her, his eyes quite soft and it was so clear that he had come to care for her. He knew that falling in love with her would be unwise, but since when had love ever been logical? Another thing came to mind, "is it because you wish for a kiss in the rain?" Maybe a bit bluntly and forward, but he knew for a fact that it was something that had been romanticised since the beginning of time - or at least almost. "You should not be afraid to ask of such things from me," he said looking ahead. He might've not shown it, but he did like the idea of kissing her. Even if they barely knew each other. He found her comforting and exciting at the same time. And yet she seemed to grant him a sort of calmness he hadn't felt in a long time.

So he didnt worry! Then there was no problem with a stroll in the rain, was there? His addition said otherwise and she frowned lightly. “A light cold wouldnt kill me.” She chuckled. Not if she at least had good memories going around it. Like having a good time in the rain. Though it seemed that he had seen right through her and the question made her cheeks flare up a little as she looked a bit away with a soft chuckle. “With something like that, it shouldnt be asked of someone. It should be happening naturally because it’s something both really want to.” She argued. Did it make sense? Obviously she wanted to but having to ask for it felt like it was taking away the magic! Mari was quite a romantic by heart but it almost also had to be perfect. Like was it from one of the books she read. “Also rain is romantic because it calls for cuddles, either from having been in the rain or just watching it.” She added. It wasnt only about kisses in the rain.

So she wanted a kiss, but she wouldn't ask for it. He hummed, keeping it in the back of his mind for now. It was a bit peculiar that it didn't need to be asked for, though he supposed that was the romance part of it. His strained smile returned and a hint of a chuckle left his lips, though it probably sounded more like a sigh. "All things you want to do with me I'm presuming?" He looked to her as the first few drops hit his shoulder, looking up to see the looming dark clouds above them. "Seems like the rain has caught up to us," he said, the rain luckily wasn't too cold, so they just continued to walk. They probably looked a little crazy, just walking in the rain with no umbrella, strolling along. "I still would not wish to see you sick," he reminded her, but luckily the apartment wasn't far of. At least he would make sure she got warmed up - maybe a shower was the optimal solution to that? He was uncertain, but he supposed they could figure that out together. Maybe even a bath could be good for her?
Reaching the front door he unlocked it, letting her get in first. Even if they hadn't been walking for long, he felt quite wet. Joining her he headed up the stairs and into the apartment itself, finding them some towels. However he quickly found that her clothes were soaked as well. "Would you mind?" He asked, before he carefully helped her out of her jacket. Yeah, she was even damp underneath. Moving his hand up, he gently touched her cheek, caressing it rather softly, "how about I run you a warm bath?" It was a good suggestion, and they did still have time before they had to be at her parents. He looked at her, still holding her face gently, looking into her eyes before his lips turned upwards in his strained smile. She was quite beautiful, wasn't she? He let go of her face, moving out to the bathroom, starting off with running the water before he got out of his coat and sweater. His shirt was wet as well, so he just opened it and took it off as well. He moved over to sit on the side of the tub, feeling for when the water started to get a nice temperature where he would put in the plug and add some nice soap.

“Of course. If it feels right for both of us, I’d want it.” She assured him. She wouldnt just let her greed get to her. He had to want it too. The rain began falling but she really didnt mind as they walked. It would have been different if she wasnt completely enjoying his company as it was right now. “What if I promise not to get sick?” She asked with a chuckle, though she could make no promises such as that. She just wanted to soothe his mind.
They werent far from the apartment and once they were inside, she was shivering a little bit from the wet and cold. It seemed that he noticed and she let him help her out of her jakcet. “I’m only cold because I’m pregnant. It makes my core temperature warmer.” She muttered, her lower lip trembling a bit. It didnt mean she would get sick, right? She was just so used to being warm. His suggestion made her nod. “Okay.” She agreed. A bath could be good. But she rather wanted to stay and feel his hand hold her face, just for a little longer. His smile, even if it was quite obviously strained was good enough for her. It made her feel happy.
He went to draw the bath and she went to the bedroom to find some dry clothes. She found a robe and decided to dress down into her underwear, before putting on the robe. She tied her hair up as well, seeing that it was a bath. Her hair would curl from the rain so it was better to tie it up so she could straighten it before they went; her mother had never liked curls, so Mari was quite used to get rid of them, especially if she was seeing her parents.
She brought the wet clothes with her to the bathroom, dropping them on the floor to handle afterwards as she smiled a little softly at him. “It smells really nice in here.” She said, walking over to softly touch his face. “Will you join me?”

PostSubject: Re: Dreaming a dream as someone who hates dreams but needs sleep   Dreaming a dream as someone who hates dreams but needs sleep - Page 5 EmptyFri Sep 09, 2022 3:45 pm

She came to him dressed in a robe that hid her body quite well. Was it strange that he felt tempted to reach out and open it just see what was hiding beneath? He found her captivating, getting up to greet her, feeling her hands on his face. Then she asked him of something quite daring. Where had she found such wonderous courage? He didn't really answer, instead his hands moved slowly down over the robe, over her chest and down to her belly. Even if she wasn't pregnant he was sure that she would still be just as stunning and vibrant. And that was a rare thing for any mortal. He liked her gentle curls forming in her hair and they way she looked at him with such adoring eyes. "Would it be wise?" He asked, his tone lower and somehow a little deeper. His hand moved, playing lightly with the strip of cloth that was tied to hold the rope together. So close and yet so far.
Had he been decent he would've left her to her privacy, but it was quite clear to himself how deprived he was. Starving for any touch which seemed to only be soothed by her. "I'm a terribly fickle being to fall in love with," he said as a small warning, his breath a little heavy as his hand kept playing with the piece of cloth. He wished he could just ignore his manners, reach in and devour her lips. Taste the sweetness, feel her breathe into his mouth. But he refrained. "But if you do so .. know I will pursue you to the ends of this world and the next," he was dead serious.

“I dont know. But wouldnt it be fair seeing that you’ve told my parents already that you’re the father of my child?” She asked, liking the feeling of how he was touching the belt. He warned her but she just shifted between his silver eyes, not really scared off by it. She was thinking of what to say, though one thing was crystal clear to her. “I know that you mean that as a threat, but I would want nothing less.” She smiled before she cupped his face. “I dont choose who I fall in love with. But if I could, know that I would choose you.” She said, rather serious as she looked at him. She sniled sweetly before leaning in to kiss his cheek.

Was she even comprehending what he was saying? Probably not. He was nothing but trouble. However as she leaned in and he felt her lips against his cheek he knew he wanted nothing more than to pursue her. Grasping lightly at the belt he felt the need to just rid her of it. Right now. Not holding back one more second. But he went against his own selfishness, nodding at her words. "I will leave you to your bath then," he said, turning off the water as the tub was full now. He gave her a slight longing look before he headed back out into the apartment. Perhaps he didn't look flustered, but he was. He had thought that by now nothing could surprise him, but this human woman had captivated him from the start. It was frustrating him. Keeping him on the edge of his seat because he was afraid of letting go.
He went and changed his clothes, though he perhaps wouldn't look much different. His style was rather neutral and black, though it seemed that black was always in fashion no matter what time and age it was. After that he went out to the kitchen, making sure he had enough of the mixture of soothing tea that seemed to help Mari relax. He wanted to take it with him to her parents, just to make it easier on her.

Maybe she didnt know what it really was that he was warning her about, but on the other hand, would she really want to be without him now? She could feel how he grasped at the belt and if he had just pulled at it, she would most probably have kissed him again, this time on the lips. It however seemed that it wouldnt be so as he spoke of leaving her to her bath. Was it odd that she wanted to stop him? But how desperate did she want to seem? A lot of thoughts circulated her mind and as he went, she was left with the bath. Exhaling deeply she stood for a but before undressing to then get in the bath. It was very warm and nice.
She however didnt stay for long, mostly because it was making her a little tired. She had to get up and get a light snack or something. She pulled the plug and grabbed a towel to dry herself and wrap around her body before she went to the bedroom to put on some underwear. She then sat on the bed, looking at her stomach that was protruding, even more when she sat down. She put in the straightener for it to warm up before grabbing her phone to look at fetus sizes, just to get an idea of whether it was normal or not.

He knocked lightly on the door to the bedroom, not wanting to intrude on her. "Can I enter?" He asked softly, opening the door if she replied positively. He was holding a small tray with a piece of bread with some marmalade on top as well as a glass of water seeing as she might've gotten a bit dehydrated from the warm bath. He placed in down on her dresser, frowning slight as he saw the flat iron heating up. "You do not like your curls?" He asked, trying to strike up some more normal conversation. Looking at the contraption he was quite impressed how far technology had truly gotten at this point. Moving over he looked to her, catching a glimpse of her phone if she hadn't put it away. By everything in creation she truly was captivating, wasn't she? Leaning down, he couldn't help himself, kissing her forehead ever so gently, "you are quite the temptress, Mari Godfrey," he sighed against her skin.
Could she not feel how his hands were ever eager to touch her skin? His hand moving over, catching a droplet of water from her collarbone, dragging it around slowly. "What am I to do with you?" A mutter or a subtle hint? He wasn't quite sure himself at this point. His free hand moved down, touching her stomach. To him she didn't look big, perhaps a bit bloated, but that was about it. But it was also sorta wonderful to him. "Drink your water and eat your bread," he said, his thumb caressing her stomach, "and leave your hair as it is .. I like your curls."

“Yeah, it’s alright!” She answered, still reading something on the screen before she put her phone down. Seeing him with food, she smiled. “You take good care of me.” She sighed. She felt lucky. The question about her curls however made her frown just a little bit. “No I really like them, but my mother doesnt.” She admitted. It wasnt really a matter of what she wanted when it came to her parents. He would realize if he hadnt already eventually.
She looked at him as he came closer. She hadnt clicked away from the baby facts nor hidden her phone away; she didnt really see a reason to. The kiss along with his words, caught her a little off guard. “Am I?” She asked in a lowered tone. She could feel his hands quite alright, and it wasnt like her body wasnt reacting. Especially at the finger that dragged around on her skin. The mutter sent soft chills down her spine, but she just remained as she sat. His hand moved down, making her smile a little.
She would eat what he had brought her and though it was risky, would she leave her hair too. But there was something else on her mind too, making her gulp before she grabbed gently around his wrist. “What was that? Before. You.. havent spoken to me like that before?” She asked, though she wasnt stupid. Shy for one, but not stupid.

He wasn't blind to how she reacted. Frankly it would've been weird not to. He nodded as she asked if he was sure she was a temptress alright. As he moved away he was stopped as she held his wrist. Turning his head he looked at her, wondering what she might require of him, but the question was a bit surprising to him to say the least. "Would you not like me to speak to you as such?" He instead asked, tilting his head a little to the side. He knew perfectly well what she meant, and yet he was hesitant to let it all out. Perhaps because they had not known each other very long. "Do you think I am blind to your beauty? How every inch of my body is trying to not defile you?" Defile. Yes that was the right word. Taking away his own restraints would only end up hurting her, wouldn't it? He cared for her, but could he ever truly be her lover? His free hand moved up, cupping her face, his thumb running along her lower lip. "You are breathtaking."

His question made her frown lightly. Of course she wanted him to keep speaking to her like that. But if she said that, then she would be red as a tomato in a manner of seconds. His other questions however did make her blush and feel maybe a little flustered. He moved his free hand up and she looked at him, feeling his thumb on her lower lip. Her mouth fell open just a slight bit before she laid down and pulled him along by his wrist.
Her eyes were tender as she looked at him. “You keep warning me about falling in love with you. But is it not already you who has fallen first?” She asked, though she couldnt deny her feelings towards him too. She let go of his wrist and let out a trembling exhale, but if he thought she would let him go now, her hand would reach back up and grab him by his shirt. Her eyes were a little vulnerable.

He was pulled down onto her, thankfully keeping most of his weight off of her by his free arm and knees. Her words cut deeper than a knife, but admitting to his own undoing was not in his nature. She let go of his wrist and at first he wanted to pull away only for her to grab onto his shirt. Looking at her eyes, his face was plain but his eyes met hers with the same vulnerability. "Do not make me confess to something that is too obvious .. for both of our sake, it is best if it is left unspoken," he admitted quite blankly. However his body was working against his words already as his now freed hand moved up to cup her cheek. He wondered if she would ever know of the beauty he found in her, but for now he would not worry about the future. His fingers moved slightly into her hairline, gracing her scalp, taking her in as she was right now. And then he leaned down.
Slowly descending to her lips. Making sure that this moment would be as perfect as if it had happened out in the rain. She was a romantic, and he would gladly try his best to be that for her. Even if he knew he never truly could. Their lips were mere inches from one another, feeling their breath mix between them before a raven cawed outside the window. Aiastes seemed to struggle now. Caught red handed and now having to answer. And yet he knew he owed no-one an answer. He was the King of Dreams! He could take and give as he saw fit; and this lovely woman who was so willing to have him made it better. It made it mean something. He lifted his head, his silvery eyes turning cold, nodding as if he gave it a command and it flew off. Then her turned to look to her again.
"We'll be late if we delay like this," he said, and while it felt bitter to say, he knew it was the right thing. He got up from the bed, moving over to turn off the hair straightener and pull it from its plug. He headed for the door, wanting to give her the privacy she deserved to get changed. "I hold you in very high regard .. please do not take this as a rejection, only a postponement," his voice deep like before, closing the door behind him.

It probably was too obvious. Why else would she ask him? To be cruel? To rub it in? No, she wasnt one to be mean. She probably just needed to hear it. To really hear him say it. And while he denied, it was also so obvious in the words that he spoke and the hand that touched her face, that this wasnt just nothing to him. It meant something. She felt his touch move, smiling faintly as she recognized the intention.
He leaned down and she closed her eyes, her breath trembling as it mixed with his. But their moment wasnt then and it seemed like a sign from the raven that knocked on the window. The human felt flustered by all the emotions that flowed inside of her and yet would she not as easily forget how he had swayed her with ease.
He leaned away and she opened her eyes, humming and nodding at his words, though she wasnt sure what she felt now. A little awkward? For practically having pulled him over her and then just being in her underwear? She would really do it for just anyone who’d give her that slither of attention she wanted? She however played it off nicely. He told her it wasnt a rejection but it was like her mind didnt really believe that. But then again, he couldnt know how many times she had heard something like that. No, I really do like you, but I dont think I’m ready for that kind of commitment. You’d wait for me, right? Yeah, she would wait. And feel dumb when she eventually realized she had been played.
Getting up, she found something simple to wear, not wanting pants to annoy her so she wore a long skirt with some cream coloured stocking underneath. A plain button up shirt with puffy sleeves. She looked herself in the mirror. No, it didnt look too obvious yet, especially not with the skirt as the band sat right over her belly button.
She checked her hair, frowning lightly at the curls. Her mother would not be happy. She decided to do a half bun with some hair coming off the sides of her face. Yeah, that hid them a bit, while keeping them visible. She looked for a bit at herself in the mirror before she finally left the bedroom to find the ancient.
