Eden hoped that he could ease some of the worry in the lycan with those words because it was honesty. If that couldnt soothe him, then Eden didnt know what else to say? But then Romeo mentioned a change and Eden wasnt sure where in their plans they were right now. So he waited for him to tell. And when he did, Eden just smiled and looked up at the ceiling. He knew that Romeo had wanted something traditional. And now that he had spoken of it, Eden had let it brew in his mind. “Just the two of us?” He asked. “Is this because of the argument with Kareema?” He asked, and if it wasnt then he wouldnt question it. But if it was then he at least wanted them to address it. “We could meet halfway? Nothing big. Just a selected few to be our witnesses?” He suggested. “I think Josette would be very upset if she could not be bridesmaid to the both of us.” He remarked.

It was almost expected that Kareema would be a sore topic but Eden would rather wait with talking about it once they were together again. “Yeah, then we’ll make a list. It’ll be a intimate and cute wedding. And then we’ll go spend our first night as husbands where our love blossomed.” He said. It was true that Josette had possibly been their biggest supporter but she also was rather godsent, looking past her genes. “If we keep talking about the wedding, I’ll become impatient and want it sooner than later.”

“You want to have our wedding after your birthday?” He asked, chuckling softly. “Our anniversary will be interesting then.” He sighed. Biting down on his lower lip, the thought was quite interesting. And the prospect of marrying Romeo.. it felt like an end goal he wanted to go past. “We’ve already come a long way havent we? Sometimes it feels like not long since I was still fighting the blood infection. And now we’re.. marrying.”

“I can agree to that.” He said, smiling a little. Eden was just reminiscing on the past, though it was a bit of a fast forward. Romeo’s reminder made him sigh as it was quite a lot to think about already. He looked at his wristwatch again. “Fuck. I’ve got a meeting soon. And I need to clean up.” He sighed. “You can always call me. I’ll make time for you.” He wanted him to know. Sitting up, he looked down and observed the mess.

“But it looks so good?” He argued. And making the lycan just a bit jealous was quite an enticing thought when it was not based on being with others. He hummed softly at Romeo’s words. “I hope tonight is a calm night for you.” He sighed, already feeling the annoyance crawl forth at the thought of Romeo’s cousin causing any trouble. “I do want an update on whatever he has to say. If I can help you mend your bond with your cousin, I’ll do that.”

“You should have said something earlier, I would’ve been hard enough for a good picture as well.” He sighed. But Romeo wanted to see the mess right? The one that he had created with his filthy mouth and slick tongue. “We’ll see my love.” He said. He undid his dirty pants and smiled softly. “Yeah. I love you too. Talk soon.” He bid him farewell and then hung up. Before getting out of his pants, he did snap a picture that he sent to the lycan, making it quite pornographic to look at. Then he got up to go clean up and prepare, keeping the lycan in mind.

He hadnt been home in a while and that was a headache for when he returned. Jeremy would be over anyway so he didnt think that Zaira would lack company. He went to the Parish mansion, feeling weird about being in Northern and not going to his parents house. But Alexis was rarely home and Lucius.. well he was in the hospital enjoying life as a vegetable. He walked up to the gate and pressed the buzzer.

He was shown inside and followed the servant that seemed to know where to go. The place reeked of vampyre, but Kurtis was a bit used to it. At least he wasnt as repelled as he would have been a year ago. Not that he actually would give a shit but his nature would’ve at least made him wrinkle his nose. He was shown to the living room where Romeo waited. Frowning lightly, he definitely felt a litle awkward looking at his cousin and not like doing something usual like throw out an insult or snarky remark. “Thank you. Uh, sure.” He said. His voice was tired. Like he had been having long days for weeks now. Moving over he sat down and looked around. “All rich people decorate in the same manner.” He remarked quietly, mostly a comment for himself. “How are you?” He asked. It was a question that was easier for him to ask, than to answer which was why he went first before Romeo could go ahead and ask.

He took the drink and looked at it. It felt quite grown up, sitting here with Romeo and he wasnt sure he was really enjoying it. It made everything seem more serious. And yet he wondered, if this was just what felt normal to his cousin? The answer he hummed at and took a proper sip of his own drink, inhaling sharply at the after burn. “Fuck, man. I think we’re in the same boat. Shit sucks, but I’m still alive.” He said. Though unlike Romeo; he didnt seem too happy about the last bit. That was maybe their contrast. Kurtis held the drink between his palms, swirling the caramel coloured liquid around. “I’m so tired of being angry all the time.” He confessed.

“Is that why you’re..?” He said, lifting a hand to rub his cheek with two fingers where Romeo was patched up. He wasnt blind, having noticed that boy wonder had a crack in the polished surface. But then again, he wasnt sure that Romeo really was the boy wonder anymore. At least not by Trevino standards. Kurtis couldnt let it go as easily as the rest of the family.
The mention of Eden and Zaira made Kurtis frown as he looked away with a sour expression. So they were just heading directly into it? He took a big sip of his drink. Romeo’s explanation was agitating him but it wasnt because of Romeo. It was because it added up quite well. “When she drinks blood she sorta of get into a mood. You know, like fucking acting like she’s in heat or whatever. And compared to the beginning with the vials, the hours are so odd now whenever she gets in that mood.” He said before he frowned. No, he wouldnt just believe she was biting someone else. She had said it was intimate, which was why he had let her bite him. “Do you know when your partner, fiancé… fuck whatever. Do you know when he’s bitten someone? Because he has to do that right?”

Alcohol free wine? Kurtis wrinkled his nose at the notion. He wasnt sure it was something that applied to Zaira seeing that the vials were making her act up. But did that mean that drinking from a source wasnt the same? It felt too complicated to consider. Kurtis wouldnt dive too much into the way the vampyres were acting, because frankly it was not a topic he felt comfortable discussing with his cousin who he still wasnt sure whether he liked or not. “So you would know if he had been drinking from someone? Like if he came home from work, you can tell whether he’s been having vials or bitten someone?”

Kurtis wasnt sure that it was soothing his mind a lot. Zaira had overall just seemed.. happier. It felt like the scales were too far apart, and some periods at a time, her mood had just deteriorated. “Are you saying she’d cheat on me just because of some fresh blood?” He asked, because he really hoped that that wasnt what Romeo was saying right now. He hadnt even considered that to be an option before Romeo had mentioned it. “She wouldnt though.” He just flat out denied it. “Would you know if he had ever been seeing someone else because of blood? Or just in general?”
