“I hold it against me. It’s not the man I want to be.” He said, looking at the lycan with serious eyes. He wanted to be a person that the lycan could be proud of loving. But he still had to confess and though it was a struggle to find the right words, the truth was what he wanted for the both of them. That night after spending a rather good evening with a heated end had been so promising. But they also had to talk about it. He listened to the lycan’s confession, feeling how the lycsn was grasping onto him in a manner thst actually made his shirt crinkle. “I’m sorry I did that to you. I wish I had upheld our promise and just been honest. But I was ashamed, because I was the one who instigated the kiss and placed you in a vulnerable position.” He said. Was it really that odd that his pride was one of his biggest obstacles? But had he known… what it would lead to? He would have trampled his pride and kicked it to the curb.
“She did. She didnt even have to say what she could do. I already knew. Ruin your internship and any possible position for the line of work you wanted. And I felt like I was to blame.” He said, still feeling that way, as Romeo might feel, if he could feel his emotions. “But then I found her in my office with my boss over her. The sight just felt too similar. Like a mirror. And I wanted to help.” He said, before he shook his head. “I wanted you more than anything that night, even after her threats. And it made me feel guilty. That I would always have this immense need to have you. Even if it could ruin you.” He explained, hoping it made sense that he had to retreat.

Romeo said his name and he looked at him with vulnerable eyes. The whisper only enhanced that vulnerability because Eden didnt want that either. Though asking the vampyre not to blame himself was easier said than done. It would take him a while to get over it. For now it felt impossible, seeing what it had pushed the lycan to do to himself.
He took in the feeling of their skin rubbing together. It was the best feeling in the world to him. No matter how much or little it was. The kisses made him clench his jaw. How could the lycan kiss him so sweetly? His heart could crumble and he hadnt realized that his eyes welled up a little.
He couldnt agree more to what Romeo then said. No more hiding. There was no need for it either way. They could marry each other, freely, legally. “When we’re married, we’ll be married for everyone to see. I want nothing more than to not hide anymore.” He said, feeling a tear run down his cheek, but he didnt mind being open. “But not only that. I want everyone to know that I’m by your side, as your fiancé.” He said, holding his ring up to the one around Romeo’s neck. “No more hiding.”

Romeo shedding a tear as well just showed that he knew. Neither of them wanted to hide any more and this time they would do something about it. He was looking at their rings as Romeo’s question made him look up. He hummed but the addition was what really sold it to him. Romeo was right. It was not meant to be used as some sort of reward. It was a display of their love. “Marry me in the town that sealed our fates.” He said, cupping Romeo’s cheek. “And we’ll put our mark through initials somewhere in our cave to stay for eternity.” He added, shifting between the beautiful hazel eyes in front of him. “For our wedding night… I want your name on my skin. Not just your initial. I want Romeo, I want you.” He said, feeling his emotions so strongly and yet he meant it.

Romeo seemed to agree to it and Eden smiled as he felt so full of joy by the mere thought. There was no greater joy than this he was sure. The lycan even agreed to the name mark but then stated that he wanted something as well. Romeo looked down but Eden sought his eyes. He could have everything he wanted. Eden wouldnt deny him it. Never again would he deny him anything. So the request he nodded in agreement to, listening as Romeo spoke of how it would stay forever in his skin. “Where do you want me to bite you?” He asked. Sure; it had it’s risks. But if anything then had he thought the poison before. It wouldnt just kill him to bite Romeo would it? He leaned in to kiss his lips tenderly, wanting his lips now more than ever.

It was set in stone, they would figure out a way for Eden to be able to bite the lycan. Eden just couldnt help the burst of emotions inside of him, leaving him longing and yearning for the lycan like mortals needed oxygen. The moan made tingles run down his spine and he shuddered in delight. But the pants coming from the lycan was also making him aware. “That really riled me up. Just thinking about it makes me want to do things..” he confessed, but then grit his teeth, reminding himself that Romeo wasnt in a state where he could be selfish. “Please.. redirect my mind.” He pleaded, bucking his hips lightly to adjust himself. It felt so tight and somehow ot made him feel bad as well. Like he wasnt supposed to get this riled up.

He could feel every fiber in his body yearn for the lycan. Because that was just what it was so used to. The burst of emotions from a tender moment to them getting all tangled up in each other. But it just wasnt possible now, so he had to contain himself. But surely, the lycan would know now how the vampyre was struggling with their reality. Not that he wouldnt respect it. But gods how many irrational pleas for a miracle cure seethed through his mind just so he could make him feel his love physically too. The suggestion was good. He hummed and watched the lycan move away to sit up. The joke made Eden scoff. “Fuck.” He swore softly, as it somehow just excited him more that Romeo couldnt move away; but then again, that was his brain deciding to filter out the reason why just to paint a picture for his already challenged patience. Like a horny filter that he needed to remove. He got up at the suggestion and paced around for a few steps, at least until his pants didnt feel as tight anymore. He got Romeo the drink and kissed his head to then go smoke. But he of course breathed in his scent, almost growling softly to himself at it. Had he ever been this pent up? He couldnt remember. But the restaint that he had to show now was also so new.

Getting out and getting some fresh air was a nice change from smelling the lycan all the same. At least because he was trying his best to calm down. A lady redirected him to an area he was allowed to smoke, seeing that some of the patients would find it triggering to see a cigarette or smell smoke. It was just unwanted tension. It made Eden curious and as she seemed to smoke as well, he asked her about it. Because why not learn more? She explained how some patients used smoking to relieve themselves from hunger as it would feel like they consumed something. Even if it was nothing but a slow working poison as she called it. He thanked her for the talk as he finished his cigarette to then return to Romeo. He smiled softly as he looked cute while he was resting, sitting down on the bed to gently touch his hand. He didnt want to wake him. He checked his phone to see a couple of missed calls with some messages too. It made him frown, reading the messages, feeling a pit in his stomach. He realized he was still touching Romeo’s hand, lifting it off to break the connection. He hoped that the lycan hadnt picked up on the touch.

The soft mutter made Eden close his eyes for a bit as he cursed inside for not having been more mindful. He opened them again to look at the messages while he considered his words. He didnt want Romeo to spiral but it wasnt good news either. Romeo entangled their fingers and that was maybe good. So he would feel Eden’s emotions as the vampyre had to say something that would bring worry. “When I…” he started but then shook his head. “She filed a report that I forced myself on her.” Was the simplest way to put it. And he couldnt stress it enough. “I didnt sleep with her.” - “But she and… whoever it is that helped her, have made compelling evidence that I cant disprove.” He said, closing his eyes to exhale in a tremble. “It has just been announced that they have collected statements and snippets of the court case with your uncle. I’m being painted as a serial assaulter”

It was probably quite fitting for the vampyre with such a label as his reputation really wasnt as crystal clear as it seemed. But it was just like a spit in the face that it would happen now while he was with Romeo. Any other time would he not have cared. But he did now. He shrugged at the question and spoke the name of some generic lawyer that had an alright reputation. Though Romeo didnt seem pleaed with that. He hummed softly at the demand, though he was curious to know why this man owed him a favor. Eden wrapped his arms around the lycan and kissed his head, hugging him closer. “I’ll get in contact with him.” He assured him. He moved his head down and pressed his forehead to the lycan’s head. “They might look into us. And use that in court. The cops that came by.. there has to be a case.” He muttered. Had he still been in control of the family then the cases would have been long gone now but he wasnt. A part of him had just thought that he wouldnt get in trouble like this. He sighed, feeling his thoughts race a little and roll down a spiral. He hugged Romeo closer.

The mutter was reassuring but could he do that? Or was it just something they told themselves to not go crazy? He could feel how the lycan was shaking and he didnt want to strain him too bad. Though the comfort was nice. “I could pull some strings and make it go away. But it would not be good for Josette.” He said. That was the only reason he had done nothing. Because it would reflect badly on her while she was settling in as the head of the family. But this wasnt really about her right now. It was about Romeo. It was about marrying Romeo, make a life with him. Eden couldnt do that if he lost in court.

Romeo was right but the ways that Eden knew werent a way that good people went, someone with a heart like Josette. And though Eden hadnt taught her anything when he knew everything, it had been because he wanted her to go her own way. “I’ll show her, but if she doesnt want to do it, then I cant force her.” He said, though Romeo’s soft whisper and sweet kiss made Eden heart ache. “I love you so much.” He muttered, nuzzling their noses together, kissing him again. He then moved, taking the lycan’s arms off him to not strain him any longer. “But I dont want to tire you out already and I can feel how you’re shaking.” He sighed. Looking at him with softer eyes, he lifted his hands to cup his face. “My sweet Romeo.”

“You have barely slept since we woke up in the hospital this morning.” He pointed out, touching the lycan’s cheek with his thumb, rubbing slowly over his cheekbone. The hospital had at oeast done some good in tubing him, though there was a long way to go. “We will my love.” He agreed, but smiled as it was something he appreciated. It was a good promise. The reminder made him hum. “I’ll think of you every day. And come around every week.” He said, though he was sure he would visit a little more often while the lycan was settling in. If he could somehow help him feel settled in quicker, then he’d do that, anything that would aid Romeo’s recovery so they could be together again. His phone beeped and he decided to turn it off and put away. “I need to not think of the allegation and the suit right now.” He sighed because it would distract him too much. He could deal with all that after Romeo’s first day here and save the misery for when he was alone. He’d be miserable about not being with the lycan either way.
