They all grow up so fast

As he didn't seem bothered by a girl, she frowned a little. As much as it hurt her heart to see him with someone else, she wasn't going to be crude about it. She wanted his happiness, but it seemed like he didn't even know what he was looking for. His reply made her sigh, because he always got bored with them. Either that or they got too clingy. "She seemed nice, though," she remarked, sending him a brief smile before looking down to her books.
She followed him as he started walking, rather grateful that he didn't take too large steps, because he could easily lose her that way. "Yeah, that was my last class - How about you?" she asked. Waiting for him she wouldn't mind, if it turned out that he had another class. She could always get a head start on her homework in the library if that was what she wanted. She looked at Tyler through the gate, chuckling a bit as she saw the smoke blow out from his nose. "Sometimes I wonder what you look like without smoke coming out of your face," she teased him. She knew that Amos smoked on occasion, but she herself had never tried it, and didn't really intend to. "Or do you think you'll get superpowers from it, like some Amazing Smoke-Man stuff?" she added. Her and Tyler seemed to share the same weird humor, so she wasn't too afraid of joking around with him.

"Yeah, they all do," he replied to her remark with a sigh. It was hard to find a girl that could keep his interest for more than a few weeks, let alone if they didnt get too clingy by then. Somehow he just couldnt fully commit to them, which he probably never would be able to.
Her question made him shrug as he sent her a small smile right before they got outside, "I'm skipping it. And so is T.J," he said, knowing it wasnt a good example to set for his babysister, but he thought that Connor probably was the one to look up to in that regard. From what he knew, the seraph did well in all his classes and as annoying as it was, it was good for Saoirse.
Tyler chuckled at her tease and leaned a little onto the gate as he looked at the trybrid, tilting his head a little, "So you do think about me?" he teased back, but he didnt mean anything by it, which was why he sent her a bright smile. Amos chuckled a little and shook his head. "Nahhh. If I wanted to get a superpower from it, it would be the ability to vaporize into the air. Imagine the lengths I could go.... except with what I know about smoke, I'd lose a foot that would appear in some city far away," he then said and frowned a little as he thought about it. He looked at Amos, "We bouncing?" he asked, knowing why they had come out here. Amos nodded and Tyler flicked his smoke away before they walked to the car. Tyler jumped in in the back, since he knew Saoirse liked to sit close to Amos and he liked the extra legspace. "So what did you learn today?" Tyler asked Saoirse, leaning back as he got comfortable in the back.

Saoirse frowned as she heard that her big brother was skipping out on his lessons, as she could already hear Connor bicker about how the daemon didn't take his studies seriously. She didn't really know how she stood with the whole school thing, on one hand she liked going there to see her class mates, but on the other hand she felt like she wanted to explore more of the world. She followed Amos regardless, seeing Tyler by the gates.
His teasing remarks made her giggle. "Oh yes, all the time," she replied with a big smile. She did think of him, just not in that way that she felt her heart flutter like when she thought of Amos or Connor. It was nice to at least have one guy in her life that didn't seem to see her like anything but her friend. It just made everything easier. One thing that she did appreciate about Tyler was that he went with her stupid remarks and drove them over a cliff, making her chuckle as he described his misadventures as a smoke cloud.
Going over to the car, she sat down in the front seat, placing her bag between her feet and her biggest book she reached behind her to place next to Tyler on the backseat. "I learnt about geometry and the arrival of the other humans," she said, turning a bit in her seat so that she could look at him as she spoke. "I still think it's weird that people came here from another world; It sounds like some weird movie with aliens," she giggled, looking at Amos as he got in to the driver's seat. She picked up the AUX-chord, plugging it into her phone and putting on one of her new obsessions. It was like every time a new song came out she had to listen to it. "If you don't want anything girly, you can just pick something to put in queue," she told the guys as she blasted a new single from a female artist. Of course she already knew the lyrics, humming along as the car roared into motion.
"Do you think my parents would ever let me drive?" she chuckled, looking at Amos as he probably had the best idea of wether or not it would be possible.

"Always so polite, mister Jackson," she teased him as he commented on the music, but she just smiled and kept singing along. She wasn't a bad singer, but that was probably because she sang so much when she was just doing anything. Amos' comment made her sigh, looking up to the sky before she closed her eyes and felt the wind in her short blonde hair. It was nice that summer wasn't completely over. "Today really is a great day for ice cream and just laying at the beach," she remarked. It was a Friday after all, and Saoirse was far from one that was ever allowed to go to parties. Not that she really knew what that was.
She turned her face, looking at Tyler as she smiled at him. "By the way, when am I going to meet the mystery girl?" she asked with an excited look on her face. She chuckled, because she seemed to be the only one who had noticed how Tyler kept his phone closer than usual. "At least tell us about her, like, what does she like to eat? Or does she go to our school?" Saoirse asked curiously. She knew that Tyler wasn't like Amos, but deep down she feared that her brother's behavior might have rubbed off on him.

"Maybe some lucky gal' will see that too," he added to her words with a sigh as he observed the sky above them. He pulled out his phone and seemed a little distant as he just felt the wind blow through his curls. Amos tapped his fingers on the wheel to the beat and nodded at her remark, "That's true, it is a nice day for the beach," he agreed a little absentminded as he concentrated on the road, to then be hearing Tyler snicker in the back, "Well, soon Mariah will become someone else then," the guy remarked, making Amos frown a little as he sighed. Sometimes he wished that Tyler kept his mouth shut, but he had been speaking while texting, so it was clear he wasnt exactly thinking.
He looked up when he felt Saoirse's eyes on him, stopping mid-text to narrow his eyes a little at her question, "What girl?" he asked with a smile, but it was clear that there was a special someone. He looked up at the sky as he kept his phone close, but he had forgotten to lock it, "She's cute. I really like her," he said. It was a fairly new thing but Tyler wasnt the type to not dedicate his time to something if he wasnt serious about it. So it was safe to say that he thought she was worth it. "She um.... she goes to another school, but I promised to keep it lowkey, just for now," he then said, mostly because he felt like if she had gone to this one, there was like a 70 to 30 percent chance that Amos already knew her.

When Amos stopped at a red light, Tyler pushed himself up to stick his head between the seats, “Lets all go to the beach,” he said in a cheery voice, making Amos groan, yet the daemon flicked the turn-signal to change the direction towards the beach instead of Tyler’s home. “Sweet!” The young man exclaimed and threw himself back into his seat as he chuckled.

Saoirse's eyes brightened as she saw how he tried to hide a smile, chuckling at how sweet he looked. Tyler was a good guy, at least in her mind, and he deserved someone just as nice. When he said that she went to another school, she frowned, but quickly reached back and grabbed his phone, open on the messages between the two. "Ooooooh~ Maddie!" she teased him, but she wasn't as interested in reading their messages. Instead she clicked on the picture of her and an awe sound escaped her lips. "She's beautiful, I hope she's as nice as she looks," she remarked with a warm smile. Saoirse did everything from a place of love, and the way Tyler was acting it was sure that the guy was already head over heels - or at least close to it. Just then a message popped up, making Saoirse blush and hand over the phone. "I'm sorry ... That, uhm ... Yeah," she stammered, looking down as if she had done this on purpose.
On Tyler's screen was now a half-dressed Maddie sitting on a towel in the shadows with the caption I miss you daddy. Saoirse thought it was strange that the girl had called Tyler for father, but then again, things were weird with boys. However after having seen that picture, it seemed like Tyler was all of a sudden dying to go to the beach, making Saoirse smile, looking at her brother with soft eyes as he groaned. Reaching over, she placed a hand on his, pleading with him not to make a scene. As he turned the blinker, Saoirse smiled brighter, chuckling a bit as she leaned back against the door, closing her eyes while they drove closer to the coast.

The beach was well populated today, and Saoirse needed to buy a swimsuit if she wanted to get in the water. "Can I borrow some money? I have them at home, just so I don't have to get sand in my clothes?" she pleaded with Amos. There were a lot of small stores by the beach where you could buy all the necessities for a day at the beach. They would probably need some of those cheap towels, and maybe even a ball for the guys to kick around.

He hadnt expected Saoirse to snatch his phone, so when she did he looked rather perplexed, not sure what to say or do as she scrolled through the messages. Frankly his mind was just trying to recall a reason that he may want to grab it from her hands, but the trybrid was scrolling fast. The message tone went off and when he saw Saoirse blush he chuckled and grabbed his phone as he looked at the message, "Had you scrolled any further, you wouldnt have been able to look at me the same," he remarked with a snicker. He looked at the message for a bit and nodded at himself with a small smile on his lips. "Wow," he mumbled under his breath, looking around the picture as to store it in his mind forever.
Amos didnt exactly want the human to tag along, but he was so damned annoying with the way he could push his way through a no and turn it into a yes. Saoirse's hand made him bite his words and simply nod before they headed towards the beach. It took a bit to find a spot for the car but as soon as that was done, they were set to go. Saoirse's plea made Amos look at her with a small frown before he just pulled out his card and handed it to her, "It's not a problem. Go find something you like," he assured her. Money had never been an issue for him, though it wasnt as if he used that wealth mindlessly. "Find a cute one," he teased her with a small smile, Tyler raising his eyebrow a little but he decided to mind his own business and turn his attention to his phone.

Saoirse didn't really know what to say to Tyler's remark, mostly because she felt like she had already seen too much. However the picture seemed to make him happy, and she looked briefly at Amos, wondering if he got images like that of the girls he dated. Part of her hoped not, but she also knew that was just how things were. Amos was popular with the ladies, and she just had to bite her tongue and think of something else.

At the beach she smiled at him as he handed his card, but her face turned a little confused at his tease. Was he being serious? He had asked her to change for school before driving her a couple of times, so why was he all of a sudden wanting her to look a certain way? However she decided just to nod, sending him a smile, before she leaned closer and gave him a brief but sweet peck on his cheek. Then she hurried off to find a bathing suit as well as some towels.
She managed to find one that fit her pretty well, it was just a simple floral one, and while the lady in the shop urged her to buy a bikini she just shook her head. One thing was her arms being covered in white marks, another was the fact that it extended over her chest and down her torso. She also bought three towels as well as a ball that they could take with them out in the sea itself. Taking the liberty to change in to her bathing suit, she looked at herself in the mirror. She wasn't quite as curvy as Maddie had seemed to look, turning her body a little to see herself from all angles. Did Amos like girls like Maddie more than her? Shaking her head, she shot the thought out, and packed her things together.
Meeting up with the boys she saw that they had found a nice spot that wasn't too far or too close to the water. "Tada~!" she said, holding out her arms to show off her new bathing suit. "I really liked the pattern; It's not too girly, right?" she asked, not that she cared much. She loved being girly from time to time.

Finding the best spot wasnt that easy but they managed to find a decent one before Saoirse found them. Tyler just sat down in the sand and leaned back on his hands with a deep sigh. Amos turned his head and smiled at her suit, tilting his head a little to the side as he thought about her question. Shaking his head, he deemed that it wasnt too girly, but even if it was, it wouldnt have been a bad thing. Tyler pulled off his shirt and looked out on the water, covering his eyes from the sun above with a flat palm, "We should probably go while the sun's still up," he said, making Amos turn his head in the direction the human looked. "Yeah," he agreed before he pulled off his own shirt and threw it next to Tyler. The human groaned as he lifted a hand towards Amos, "Come on man, you're gonna make me look all thin and fragile," he said in a jestful tone, making Amos snicker. "Get buff," the daemon simply mocked him before he looked at the ball Saoirse had bought. "We gotta watch this, or it will blow with the wind to the other side of the shore," he said with a small smile.

Saoirse chuckled at the guys teasing each other, mostly because she felt a little unsure of herself as well right now. She could feel people looking at her, some even staring and she was the first to run towards the water. Getting in she dunked her head under, hearing the weird echo that came with having ones ears submerged. As she got back to the surface she felt more relaxed, but mostly it was because she didn't feel as self-conscious as she had on the beach. Part of her wished that winter would come, making her marks less noticeable. When the boys joined her she grabbed the ball and tossed it to Tyler. Splashing water at Amos, she couldn't help but giggle. It had been a long time since she had felt relieved in the company of her brother, mostly because half the time it felt like walking on eggshells.

"Tyler?" a light blonde vampyre yelled from the shore. She was holding a shading umbrella, her bikini low cut and with a bolero around her waist, accentuating her figure. Her skin was pale, but she seemed in a cheery mood despite the warm sunlight. It was Maddie, and Saoirse stopped to look at the beautiful creature. Was that perhaps why Tyler had been in such a hurry to go to the beach? "What are you doing here? I thought you had classes?" she said, biting her lower lip a little as she looked at the human. Maddie turned her grey eyes to look at Saoirse and then Amos, but it didn't seem like she lingered too much on the two. It was safe to say that the vampyre had been smitten by the human, and she couldn't quite put a finger on it. Perhaps it was the fact that he wasn't like most guys, wanting a quick fuck just to move on to the next. She really wanted to join them in the water, but the sun reflecting in it would make her pass out, she was sure of it. So instead she stood by the shore, chuckling a bit as she looked at the human that she spent so much time texting.  

Saoirse climbed on Amos' back, leaning her cheek against the side of his head as they moved around the water. She couldn't help but keep an eye on Tyler and Maddie. It seemed so endearing how the human just walked up to her as if he was mesmerized. She felt like that was how Connor looked at her sometimes, and it made her stomach turn a happy spin. "She looks nice ... But why isn't she getting in?" she asked, mostly because except for humans, daemons and seraphim, she knew very little of the other races. What she did know was what people told her, and she relied a lot on her studies to tell her what, when and where. Saoirse held her arms around his shoulders, pressing herself closer to him every time a small wave hit them. She giggled softly in his ear as she felt it tickle a little bit, closing her eyes and just enjoying the sunshine from above. "Are you still mad at me?" she asked softly, not wanting to start an argument, but today he had seemed in a much cheerier mood than usual.

Maddie greeted him, placing a hand on his arm as he leaned down to peck her cheek. Smiling at him, she wanted to grab him and force him to actually kiss her, but the low key part had been her idea. Mostly because she in the past was not too good at sticking to one partner. "Is the picture as advertised?" she asked, gesturing down her body, making a small twirl for him so that he could see all angles. She couldn't help but chuckle as he went on, mostly because he always seemed to have such a cool facade, but he seemed to forget it when he was with her. She liked that, that he wasn't afraid to be himself. His question made her shake her head. "No-No ... I'm here with a couple of my school friends, our teacher told us to go out and find inspiration in nature, so we thought the beach was the best option," she said, shrugging lightly as it wasn't a big deal. Maddie looked at Tyler, feeling breathless even though she didn't need to breathe. She just liked him a lot, and she was sure that if she had had a working heart, it would've been beating away the the force of ten wild horses.

Amos was more focused on following the waves than see what Tyler was doing, but it was probably because he knew already what was going on. He couldnt blame Saoirse for being interested. "She's a vampyre... The ones that suck blood and stay out of the sun. The reflection in the water probably makes her sick," Amos said before glancing back at the two at the shore. He said before turning his focus back on moving around. He held her close as he moved through a big wave, feeling the push in his chest as it wanted to drive them back to shore. Her giggles in his ear made him feel more relaxed. Her question made him frown a little as he shook his head, "I wasnt ever mad at you. I was just annoyed... It's complicated" he said before he looked back at her. He still somehow found it annoying how he wanted to kiss her everytime she was near him, but he had to remind himself that she was still so young.

Seeing her twirl made his eyes wander up and down, looking at the soft curves that definitely was more than he could ask for. He realized that his jaw had dropped a little in awe, closing his mouth before he swallowed hard and nodded, "Definitely," he said with a bright smile. If she only knew how he wanted to reach out and pull her close. His question was also to level himself somehow instead of feeling lost in admiration, afterall they were dating somehow, he couldnt just act like a young school boy anymore. But he knew it would subside after a while, he just had to get over the fact that she took an interest in him and still did, everytime he saw her. "You've never told me if it's an art school that you're at," he then remarked, knowing he had asked before. He carefully reached out to grab her hand, but it was clear that he got more confident along the way and by the time he touched her hand, it was like he didnt care if anyone saw. "THis may be cheesy... But fuck it. If I had to go look for inspiration, I wouldnt have to look any further," he said with a sincere tone, entangling his fingers slowly with hers so she could pull her hand away if she didnt want it.

Saoirse nodded, but she found it strange that the sun of all things would make a vampyre weak. It just sounded silly, but then again, she didn't make the rules. They kept moving around the water, and it felt nice just to be close to him. It was no secret that she still longed to have him close, but they were keeping it civil. Mostly because Tyler knew they were siblings, and he would probably not be approving of what they did. As he tried to explain she nuzzled her cheek against his, pouting a little, but it was mostly because she was thinking. "You said that you wished you didn't love me," she mumbled. They hadn't spoken much about what had happened that day, even less so about the kiss he had given her. At the time she was so confused, barely knowing what a kiss like that could mean. "I know you say that it's complicated, but could you try and describe it for me?" she asked in a pleading voice. She just wanted to understand, and if she could then there was no harm done, right?

Maddie looked at him with a raised eyebrow as he remarked on her education. "Maybe it's best if you don't know where I go to school, seeing as you clearly show stalker tendencies," she teased him lightly, but she would be far from angry if he showed up some time to pick her up. She could sense his hand moving closer to hers, the heat he was radiating and the blood pumping in his body was so easy to pick up on. Letting him take her hand, she looked down at it shortly, smiling at his words. It was strange, seeing how their fingers entangled just felt right, but she was a little scared too. Scared because he was a mortal, and any logical vampyre would walk away from him right now. However she liked that he was human, liked that he didn't see her as her race, but rather as the person she was. "Are you flirting with me, Tyler Jackson?" she whispered, biting her lower lip as she stepped closer to him. Now both of them were under the shadow umbrella, and her grey eyes found his. "'Cause I really like it," she confessed, chuckling softly as she studied his face.

He heard her mumble, but a part of him was thinking that this definitely wasnt the place to start discussing the past. Though he had a feeling that it was his own fault for mostly keeping their time together short after agreeing to be friends. Her plea made him sigh as he turned them to look at the vampyress and T.J. "Do you see them? How they look at each other and how you can tell that they like each other?" He asked, waiting for her to catch on before he continued. "That's how Connor and I feel towards you. Probably how you feel towards us. But unlike them, you wouldnt know what to do in their stead. Because you still dont know everything about being 17," he then explained, moving a bit back to not just be pushed forward by the waves behind them.

"You would love that," he returned the tease with a small smirk with one corner of his mouth. He was happy that she let him take her hand and as their fingers entangled, he felt a little more relaxed about the situation. He liked seeing her smile, especially with her eyes on their hands. Her whisper made him chuckle as he looked a little at their hands before he felt the coolness of the shade as she moved closer. "It depends..." he answered just as she confessed. He tilted his head a little to the side as he flashed a confident smile at her. "Yeah, I am definitely flirting with you," he admitted, lifting his free hand to move some hair from her face. A simple gesture but with so much meaning behind it. Amos had warned him before about being with supernatural creatures when he was only a human, but Tyler clearly wasnt that good of a listener. He didnt have any super senses to distinguish people from each other. He just saw what he saw and judged from that. He looked back into her grey eyes with his sky-blue, that could glisten in the light, but in the shade they seemed to get a little darker. "The real question is just if it's working?" he said in a low tone to return to the subject, leaning just a little closer.

Saoirse knew that now might've not been the best time for them to discuss these things, but truth was that she needed it right now. She looked at Tyler, saw how he touched Maddie and how they seemed to just learn closer. She looked at Amos, a small frown on her face, but it was mostly because she was listening so intently. "So how will I learn what it means to be a seventeenyear old? Is there like something I could read or maybe something I could watch?" she asked. She knew what her father had said, but it seemed like the guys were trying to shield her from something. "Clueless or not, I know how I feel about you two, I know what you do to me and what it makes my body feel," she said. Breathing out she shook her head a little. "I know you mean well, but it feels like I'm not even allowed to try anything," she added. She loved her brothers, but if they kept shielding her, she thought she was going to explode.

Maddie chuckled softly at his words before he asked if it was working. Looking up at him, she smiled a rather devious smile. "Maybe," she whispered, however she leaned up to him. Her lips were basically hovering over his at the moment.
"Maddie! C'mon girl, you said you were up for going out to west and getting a few drinks!" A guy yelled, making Maddie sigh. She was quite the socialite, having friends from all walks of life. "I know what I said," she said, lifting the elegant umbrella a bit to look at a group of her friends. "But I forgot I had a date," she said, looking back at Tyler with a warm smile. "Do you want to stay here or go with my friends?" she asked, letting it be up to Tyler. If he wanted to stay at the beach, so would she, even if her friends would tease her.

Saoirse looked rather confused as he said porn videos, but knowing what the first word meant, but she was afraid to ask. She didn't want to look at things, she wanted to experiencethem herself. When he said that he hadn't restricted her, she looked down and sighed, mostly because he was right. "I don't just want to try things with anyone," she said in a sad voice. How could she explain that she hadn't felt a connection to anyone but Connor and Amos? It felt like he would accuse her of lying, but it would be the truth. "You don't have to teach me things, it's alright, but I just wish that I could ... I don't know, try what it was like to just be treated like a seventeen year old," she confessed. Maybe she was biting off more than she could chew, but she was too afraid to just try it with anyone. She wanted to feel safe, to be able to retreat and not do something if she ended up regretting. "I don't know ... I just don't know how to put words to the things I'm feeling," she said softly. Saoirse felt the waves around them, leaning her forehead against his dark hair, closing her eyes. She took in his scent as it was right now, the salty water mixing with the smallest hint of lavender. "I want to lay on the beach for a while before we have to go home," she said. Maybe it was best not to talk about it.

Maddie couldn't stop herself from smiling at the human. She was hard struck by the feelings she felt for him. She could hear how his heart beat faster as she called him her date. However his reply made her give his hand a soft squeeze, not wanting to hurt him. "I like that," she admitted. In the moonlight she would feel more like herself rather than having to hide under a shadow. Turning her head she looked at her friends, telling them that she was joining Tyler, but that they should drink another around for her. The male friend frowned, looking Tyler up and down, but this place wasn't really ideal for a confrontation. Besides, it was clear that Maddie wasn't nudging. Her friends knew her well enough to see that. "Pick up your stuff, my car is parked not far from here," she smiled.

To be honest, Saoirse knew that it would be wrong, but on the other hand she just felt compelledto be close to him. They moved in to the shore once more, saying their goodbyes to Tyler as he went to join Maddie. Leaning down she spreadout her towel and Amos'. Laying down she breathed out, laying on her back she closed her eyes, enjoying the sun above shining down.
She laid like that for a while, just relaxing and focusing on her breathing. "What are your plans for the weekend?" She asked suddenly. She knew that Amos had some friends that he would meet up with at parties, parties that Saoirse wasn't allowed to attend. "I think I'm going to go over to Connor's house. We've kinda made Saturdays into movie nights," she chuckled, turning her head to look at Amos. The way his body shined from the water made her stare longer than she probably had been allowed to. His dark curls showing more prominently as it was wet. She couldn't stop herself. Reaching over to remove some wet lock from his forehead.

Saoirse looked at Amos in confusion, her eyes couldn't hide the fact that she looked hurt by his outburst. As he apologized and let go of her hand, she just pulled it towards herself, looking down as she felt sad again. The day had been so nice, and now she had done something wrong again, because she just couldn't stop herself. "Sorry," she mumbled, rubbing her thumb over where he had grabbed her. She wasn't mad at him, she was more so mad at herself, mad that she hadn't been able to stop and just look at him from afar. Frankly, she wasn't in the mood to be scolded, she didn't want to go in to the weekend with a feeling of an argument brewing. Looking at him, she could see how he was thinking, but his question made her frown.
"I don't know what you mean," she replied. Perhaps it wasn't the answer he wanted, but she couldn't understand the premise. Besides that, it always felt like she was walking a thin line between what was alright and what wasn't. "I mean ... I am just trying to do as my dad said, wait and figure things out," she said, frowning as she looked down to her wrist. His hand had made a small red mark appear, but it would pass fast enough.

Looking at him, she feared that he would get angry at her again, frowning at his words as she didn't really understand. He kissed her wrist and she had to bite her lip as to not make a soft sound escape them. Holding her breath as he moved closer, she looked in to his eyes as he asked her more directly. Her eyes widened, blood rushing to her cheeks as she looked away. "Amos," she whispered breathlessly, closing her eyes to focus. She knew it would make her father mad, not to mention thinking of how disappointed her mother would be. The corner of her lips turned downwards, her eyes remaining closed as she tried to weigh it all out. Her hand moving over, placing her palm against his chest, feeling his heart beating. It was always such a nice sound that it made. "I don't know ... I can't lie to them; I don't want them to be mad at me," she confessed, opening her eyes to look at him. "And Connor ... You already stole my first kiss ..." she said, feeling like she was being split right down the middle.
