| Raziela scoffed under her breath, looking ahead as she just kept walking. They would be there shortly anyways so why even bother talking further? The fenix was clearly incompatible with her, so wasting another breath on her was just stupid. On the other had the empusa found herself intrigued. Why was she so curious? And why did she take so much interest in her?
Nithmeia was still in the arms of a daemon, her vision blurred as she just tried reaching for something familiar. To her that was Salil, and he would gladly take the place as the one she needed. She heard the voice of the fenix, drawing her back to reality. "Not that great," she confessed in a weak voice. "We're here," Raziela interrupted, walking ahead to open the door. Inside was a pretty decent house, however everything didn't really homey, it just pretended to be. "Take the creature upstairs and heal her wounds; I'll send for someone to bring the mortals food," she said to the other daemons. |

| It would have been dumb to expect a different answer than what Nithmeia gave. Dahria just folded jer lips and nodded quietly. The interruption made the fenix smile as her eyes followed Raziela up to the door. She went in and looked around. She could tell that the interior was pretty basic, something that was made to give a homey feel, but couldnt quite disguise the taint of cheap fabrication underneath. She ran her hand over a painting, to realize it was just a print. “Why dont we go out like we were on a date?” She asked with her eyes on the painting before she glanced towards the empusa, not looking directly at her. |

| Nithmeia and Salil got led upstairs, Salil sending Dahria a concerned look, but he didn't know what to say.
Raziela scoffed at the fenix, clicking her tongue at the cocky attitude. "Who said I date?" She asked in a blank voice. It was true, her passion for the order and her family had kept love at a distance. The empusa only found emotions to get in the way, and if she was with someone it would only show weakness to others. "I'm declining your ridiculous offer, get some sleep," she simply said. She was starving, always waiting for the last minute to fill up on souls. "Besides, the closer you get to a daemon like me, the closer you are to death," she said in a sour tone, walking in to the living room and looking out the window. |

| She shrugged at her question, “No one said anything,” she said with a raised eyebrow. Even though the empusa was declining, Dahria wasnt quite convinced. She just stood her ground and frowned at the last words she said. She should have realized by now that the last thing the fenix really seemed to care about was experiencing things - Didnt matter if it would kill her. She ran her fingers over the painting again. “So much for tending to my every need,” she mumbled before she went upstairs to check on Nithmeia and Salil. She wanted to know that her friends were being treated well. |

| Frankly Raziela didn't care about what Alyssa had said, she was not going to degrade herself and be a pet to the fenix. Not a chance in the Abyssus.
Upstairs Salil stood outside a room, his pointy ear pressed to the door. As he saw Dahria his eyes remained unchanged, his focus on whatever was going on behind it. "They are telling me they'll heal her throat in a couple of minutes ...But I don't trust them," he whispered, closing his eyes to see if he could focus only on listening. |

| Seeing Salil by the door gave her some relief. At least that meant they hadnt just been thrown into rooms to rot for eternity. “How’s your wrists?” She whispered, adding herself to his quest of hearing what was happening inside. She stood for a bit and closed her eyes, “She’ll be fine,” she mumbled quietly, opening her eyes to look up at Salil. She smiled softly at him and pushed off the door, not really feeling that up for having to explain how she thought she knew because she had seen it in a dream. “Whatever that happens, you’ll live,” she mumbled, pushing off the door before she turned around and went down the hall to look for a room she could sleep in. |

| "Been better," he mumbled, looking at Dahria as she leaned against the door. He could already feel that she was going to say something encouraging, but it felt on deaf ears for the tiefling. He breathed out, her mumbles making him relax a bit, but he still didn't know who he could trust in this house. Watching her as she went down the hall, he didn't know if he was supposed to go after her or say something in return. However despite all of those thoughts, it was too late to act on it once she had turned in to a room.
Fuck, this was bad, this was really bad - Raziela was going to skin him alive and parade his dead body around town. He heard footsteps approaching, scrambling to crawl in to a closet, but as the door swung open, he had only managed to hide one leg in the closet. "Heh ... Hi, uhm, I'm - uh - the maid!" he said with a cooky smile on his lips. Jasper was a cambion, and perhaps that was why he liked crashing at Elora's place when Andrew was in a good mood. He felt like he could confide in his younger sister, at least more than he could with the twin. His dark eyes were a dead give away, showing clearly who he was related to, but his hair was far wilder, curls all over the place. "I was, uh, just checking your- uhm - closet space - YES! I was just checking you had all the room you needed," he said in a nervous laughter. By the gods he was the worst liar in the history of liars. "I'll be leaving now," he said, but felt a little hesitant to just pass the fenix. |

| In the room, she was quite shocked to see someone try to sneak into a closet. His eyes looked much like Raziela’s but she wasnt too sure. He began to joke around, but Dahria raised an eyebrow at him, “The maid who hides in closets?” She asked, tilting her head to the side. Who was this guy? And why had he been trying to get in her closet. He tried to feed her another lie but her face clearly showed how little she believed him. He must have realized by the time he announced his leave, but she placed a hand on the doorframe to block it. “Why are you here?” She demanded to know, keeping a steady grip on the frame. |

| Jasper knew how stupid he sounded. It wasn't that he didn't have a brain, but acting stupid had always kept people at a distance, so that was what he did as a way to protect himself. If he was just presumed to be stupid or ridiculous, no-one would treat him like a monster or freak. Her question just made him shrug, scratching his neck a little as he tried to pass her, recoiling as she slammed her hand against the frame, his eyes widening as he placed at the fenix. "I can assure you that this is all a very fun misunderstanding," he said, raising his palms up, signaling he wasn't out for trouble. Breathing out he shook his head, but keeping his eyes on the fenix. He didn't trust easily, but it wasn't like trusting ran in the family. He chuckled nervously, but then his face went pale, looking at someone behind the fenix.
Raziela stared at her brother, in disbelief that he had been stupid enough to stay at this house when he knew that it wasn't his property. "Razzzzzzzzz~" Jasper said, dragging her nickname out as far as he could to fill up the awkward space he now felt he was a part of. "Hi, hey, wassabi kimosabi, uhm, I was just on my way out," he said, looking at the fenix with a pleading look. Raziela didn't reply. "I swear I wasn't trying to break anything," he said, frowning as it didn't seem like his sister would budge. "Fenix, you'll have to excuse my insolent brother," - "Rude," - "He is incapable of understanding boundaries," Raziela said in a cold and calm voice, giving her brother a deadly glare. "Leave now," she then said to her brother. Even though they were family, it was clear they held no specific love or closeness towards each other. "I'll just gather my things and-," - "Nothing in this house belongs to you, get out," Raziela said through gritted teeth making the cambion cower backwards a bit. He knew of his sister's temper, but managed to squeeze awkwardly through the door. "This was our home once, sorry I was just reminiscing," he said under a hushed voice, but Raziela simply hissed at him, making him run down the hallway and past the tiefling that stood surprised to see a daemon run that fast. |

| This was weird. Why was this guy here when it seemed that majority of people in the household were females. The fact that he took her demand as a threat, made her wonder truly why he was here. He was looking behind her and she turned her head to look at Raziela once again, somehow she always managed to look either annoyed out of her mind or simply indifferent. Raziela introduced him as her brother and Dahria tried not to seem as confused as she felt in the moment. Why was Raziela’s brother here? But then he spoke of the house as their home and the puzzle pieces seemed to fall in place. Dahria looked back into the room before she looked at Jasper, but the empusa’s hiss sent him running before she could ask. “This was his room.” She concluded, pointing back at the room. She frowned a little and shook her head. It wasnt her place to dig into family business. “Goodnight Raziela.” She said in a quiet tone before she closed the door and went to the window. She looked out and crossed her arms with a deep sigh. Her inner adventurer wanted to open the window and jump out, run after the cambion and hear him out. But what would happen if she did? |

| Raziela hated being in this stupid house. It was full of memories to her, memories of a time when she was helpless and never good enough. However she knew that Alyssa knew, her brother had probably told her about their childhood - at least to some degree. What frustrated her the most was the fact that this place always came back to haunt her, even when she thought she could burn the place to the ground. Raziela simply nodded as the fenix bid her goodnight, choosing not to comment on the previous statement. Wouldn't that just be admitting a secret that she wanted to keep under lock and key. As the fenix closed the door, part of her felt bitter. She had probably figured it out by now, that this was in fact her childhood home, but she didn't like to think of it that way.
Jasper had managed to sneak off in to another part of the house. Even though this place wasn't his home anymore, he just liked being here. To him it reminded him of simpler times, and although he had endured tremendous trauma here, it was like it was only here he could feel himself be real. Despite what his siblings thought, he wasn't just a freeloader for nothing. He had no real attachment to the things he gathered and he had a hard time actually keeping relationships. He had found an old cupboard, slipping inside and just sitting there with his knees under his chin, wrapping his slender arms around them. If he just waited until the other's had gone to sleep he could slip back and grab his jacket and the stuff he had brought. Only to realize that he had laid it on the bed, mumbling a faint "fuck" to himself. He would have to go back right away then. With a bit of struggle he managed to squeeze out of the cupboard, sneaking down the hallway and keeping himself mostly undiscovered, as the tiefling had been allowed in the room with its kin. He reached the door, his hand shaking a little because he felt stupid to knock on the door of his own former room. "Hey you ... My stuff," he whispered through the door, closing his eyes and leaning his forehead against the closed door. |

| She just stood by the window to gather her thoughts, folding her lips a little as she seemed to stare at nothing. If that was Raziela’s brother and this his room then... she looked around for a moment. It seemed that all that had once been a part of a family, now switched out to be a ghost of those times. She looked at the window and ran her finger along the frame. She had opened enough windows with the intent to jump out to know what a runaway’s window would look like. She flinched at the knock, thinking it would be Raziela coming back to threaten her not to utter a word about family or this house. But it was him again. She went and opened the door for him, letting him inside before she looked around the hallway. “I didnt mean to be that hard on you before,” she mumbled apologetically, closing the door behind them. She lifted a hand to her neck, scratching behind her ear. “So this was your room?” She asked, feeling like she was intruding on his space by just being here. |

| He wasn't exactly ready for her to just open the door like that, so he kinda fell in to the room with a slight stumble. Straightening his back, he looked at the fenix, placing a hand in his worn out jeans pocket. He was slender, no not slender, he was skinny, almost skin and bones, but he had always been to the smaller size. Except for his height, and although he never would be as tall and massive as Andrew, he had been roughly the same height as Simeon. Her apology just made him shrug, mostly because he was used to it at this point. He was kinda the joke of the family, a black sheep, because even though Elora was just a turned daemon, she at least had some use. He on the other hand had never proven useful. He went over to the bed, grabbing his black jean jacket with a hood, before turning around as she asked, nodding as he looked around at the empty walls. "It hasn't changed much over the years, mostly just been more quiet ... I stay here from time to time when I'm trying to sober up," he said with a small shrug. Breathing out through his nose he looked at the fenix. "Why are you even here? Is she ... Holding you guys hostage or something?" the way he spoke probably alluded to the fact that it was a common thing Raziela would do. |

| His nod made her nod a few times as she looked around, listening to him as he explained. She twitched her eyebrows at the mention of sobriety, but with a closer look at him, she seemed to understand. There was no need to dig into that right now. She crossed her arms a little defensively at his question, looking down at the ground with a deep sigh. She went on to explain the story, just how she had been trying to get a couple of pictures of some pretty murals in the Building Blocks, meeting Nithmeia and Salil, taking care of Salil, hearing his story and going back to get Nithmeia. When she was done, she had a sad expression on her face. “But I cant bear to tell them that I havent seen them return home for a very long time,” she added with a sad smile, still looking at the ground. “I wish I could see what was going to happen to me, that they wouldnt just be alone, but I cant. Never could. So I guess I’d be better off assuming that we’ll be hostages at some point, at least for my own peace of mind” she confessed, hugging her arms a little closer. |

| The story felt complicated, a lot of nuance, and none of which Jasper usually had any interest in. However the fenix was compelling, she sounded so calm and sad, beckoning him to just listen to her every word. Once she finished and she explained that the creatures weren't going home any time soon, he breathed out, nodding as he understood. He knew a little of the old stories, but frankly most of it had been blocked out by his own amnesia from his childhood. "I'm sorry to hear, I guess, but you were kinda asking for trouble roaming Southern," he said. Maybe he came off as oblivious, but as she had described it it had been in the evening, and that had never been a good time to be roaming that city. "But hey, I guess some people are just asking to get caught," he said with a faint smile, alluding to the fact that he was the same as her. He wasn't a daredevil, he saw himself more as a coward, but he did have tendency to cry out for help. Maybe he was just the boy who cried wolf, and now no-one was there to answer. "If you want to, I could sneak something to you?" he suggested suddenly. |

| She hadnt expected him to be interested in her story but she appreciated that he listened to her anyway. She might have asked to be caught, but that wasnt what bothered her. “What fun would there be if I didnt get into some sort of trouble?” She asked with her head tilted to the side. Maybe they were kindred in that way - Getting caught. His suggestion made her smile, thinking about it for a second as she rubbed her hands a little together. “I could do with a bottle of cheap wine. If you’d be up for sharing?” She asked. Maybe not the best suggestion for someone trying to get sober. But she wasnt here to keep tabs on people and what they did, and she especially wasnt a rolemodel of any sort. |

| Jasper couldn't help but crack a smile at her question. Sure, the chance of getting caught was always exciting. However the mention of wine made him nod, making a light bow. "Coming right up, my lady," he said with a goofy smile on his lips, slipping on his jacket before looking at her. He lifted his finger to his lip, signalling for her to be quiet before sneaking out of the room. Truth be told he should probably stay away from all substances, but he didn't care. He felt the heartache of walking through these halls after having his sister call him out, and now he wanted to full that internal pain. He returned not more than twenty minutes later, slipping in to her room with a grin on his face. "Only one guard tonight, and she has a crush on me, so we can have a small party," he chuckled, holding up two bottles of wine along with a bag of chips and beer. "Oh, and the best part!" He exclaimed, putting down everything except for a bottle of wine, showing it to her. Then he turned the lid, showing it was simply a screw on, making his facial expression very excited. |

| A smile spread wide on her lips as he accepted her offer, zipping her lip as he signaled her to be quiet. She went to the bed and grabbed a thin cover laid over it that she spread on the floor before throwing a couple of pillows and at last the blanket. This at least, was her idea of a good night whenever she had a friend over. She couldnt remember the last time she had done this. She waited for him to return, finding it a little odd that she was excited. Maybe she thought they could get along quite well. As he returned, she widened her eyes a little at what he had gathered but made a silent applause at him. “You’re a genius!” She whispered, watching as he unscrewed the wine. She sat down on the plushy surface she had prepared and grabbed a beer. “I owe you one,” she chuckled, opening the can before taking a long sip. She had missed the taste of alcohol due to her being too busy wanting to see everything. “Pass it over,” she said as she reached for the wine. |

| Jasper chuckled under his breath, looking away as she said she would owe him one, making him shake his head. He had done this mostly for selfish reasons, at least in his head. Staying here was better than any crappy motel he could go to. "Let's just say we're even," he said, sitting down across from her, taking a big gulp of the wine before passing it to the fenix. "Oh, yeah, I almost forgot," he said, holding out his hand a little awkward and it looked certain he didn't do this often. "I'm Jasper," he introduces himself, a faint smile on his lips and looking rather nervous. |

| She frowned a little when he seemed to shrug her debt away. “You’re one of the first guys I’ve met who’s ready to throw away a pretty girl’s debt,” she remarked but she found it admirable. Many would Have ceased the opportunity and asked for something weird that Dahria wasnt sure she was quite comfortable with. She took a long sip of the wine and laid down, looking up at the ceiling as she held the bottle straight to not spill all over the place. She lifted her head at his hand and chuckled as she took it. “Dahria. Like Dahlia but with an R,” she explained, giving a firm squeeze before she laid back down. “So Jasper.... Has your sister always been that way? Cold and distant?” She asked with a raised eyebrow. She just assumed that any personal question would weird him out, since he looked so nervous when he was only giving his name. They could talk about all that when they were drunk out of their minds. |

| Jasper shrugged a bit at her words, mostly because he didn't want to go in to details as to why. She took his hand, shaking him firmly while his was probably a bit weak. Smiling at the way her name sounded, he tried saying it a couple of times. "Pretty unusual," he said, but mostly as a compliment. She laid down, but he kept sitting, leaning his back against the mattress and opening a beer. Taking a sip he just thanked the gods that he was only born a half breed, this way he didn't have to drink too much to get drunk. Her question mad him shrug, looking in to the beer can with a contemplated look in his eyes. "She wasn't always like that ... I can remember a time when we all laughed and played, but when her and Elora turned ten things just changed," he said, shrugging as he wasn't comfortable speaking about it in depth. "After Elora changed ... So did Raziela, and we never really got a clear answer from our caretakers," he said. |

| She raised her brows as he repeated her name, the compliment made her nod with a happy smile, “My parents wanted to make sure my brother and I had similar nicknames, Barry and Darry,” she explained with a shrug. She remembered how her parents were so certain that she and her brother would be the best of friends. It must have been heartbreaking for them to realize they were wrong. She lifted herself shortly as she took another long sip of the wine, feeling the sour taste all the way down her throat. She was surprised to hear that it hadnt always been that way with Raziela. She placed a hand under her head and laid there quite comfortably. “Changed?” She asked with a curious expression. “How did she change?” She asked, but she had no idea who Elora would be - She just assumed that it was someone close to Jasper and Raziela. |

| "Yeah, she used to play with us, but after Elora got turned, she only ever seemed to want to hang around our oldest brother Simeon," he said with a small shrug, taking a long drag of his beer. Closing his eyes for a while, squeezing them harder together as he seemed to remember something unpleasant, shivering slightly. "I don't know what happened ... But Raziela never really seemed to smile again, like something had broken inside of her or something," he said, shaking his head as he opened his eyes looking towards the window. Breathing out he smiled faintly. "Not that Elora was any better ... We weren't allowed near her for so long, but I could still hear her crying," he said, his smile turning sad. He was probably sharing too much, but he rarely had anyone to talk to. Mostly he just jumped from place to place; To some he was probably not even considered a friend, just a warm body to share a bed with, but it didn't matter to him. "But you have a brother? How's he?" he asked, not wanting to keep the focus on himself, as it did make him rather uncomfortable. |

| The story didnt seem like a pleasant one. Especially not one that she would have wanted to be someone's childhood. She knew if her brother had been crying and she wouldnt have been allowed near him, she would have gone anyway. But it didnt seem that Jasper had even had a chance at sneaking past whoever that had guarded his sister. "Well fuck... I'm sorry to hear that," she mumbled, passing over the wine to him. His question made her turn her head back to the ceiling, resting her beer on her chest where she held it steady. "Under the circumstances... He's okay. But in reality, not really," she explained as she tipped her beer a little from side to side, hearing the liquid move inside the can. "When we were children, I was supposed to watch over him. But I was too busy wandering around in my own world. He went out on the street right as a car was rushing past, bam! I get a slap over the wrist, he gets a chair for the rest of his life and a brain that will never be the same," she explained, feeling her eyes tear up a little. "So I guess my need to help strangers come from the time I should have helped my brother. He's doing well now considering. But he wont ever get a normal life, all because of me," she spoke quietly now, her finger playing with the pull tab before she made a deep sigh. She hadnt told that story in ages. |

| He just shrugged, taking the wine and downing a big gulp. He was however glad to have the focus off of him and on to her, but he could almost feel the hurt in her voice before she even started. He knew that guilty feeling, he had battled it for so long that he felt like it had become a part of his personality. Hearing how she blamed herself made him shake his head no, wanting to reach out and comfort her, but it wasn't really his place. Nor was it something that would be comfortable for him. "I don't think you're guilty ... You weren't the one driving the car, you didn't tell your brother to run out in to the streets," he said, taking another gulp of the wine before passing it back to her. "We can't change the past - or whatever they say - But we can try and not to let it affect us too much ... But look at who's speaking, the lowlife halfbreed who can't give up on his stupid childhood home," he chuckled, scratching his neck as he closed his eyes as he leaned against the bed. He drank from his beer, emptying it with a sigh, turning the beer upside down with a frown as nothing came out. Grabbing another from the bag he opened it and went to drink once more. "At least you are trying to do better ... Me? I'm just drowning myself in whatever substance I can get my hands on for the scraps of money I get," he chuckled, his eyes wet under his lids. Damn it he was such a cry baby, always had been. "I'm not much of a fighter ... I don't think I'm much of a lover either, so I'm kinda stuck in the middle of not knowing what the fuck I am to do with my life," he confessed. |
