He let her clean herself up, as he otherwise would believe that he would just go all crazy and need to have another go. Seeing her mother in the kitchen, he gritted his teeth a little apologetically at her warning look, mumbling a faint sorry before he helped Zaira with setting up the table. "I got a weird text from Jeremy. He's asking if I can go check up on Damiano." he then said as they were in the middle of eating breakfast. He showed her the message so she could read it for herself, though messages from numbers that werent registered did pop in, asking the lycan what he was up to.

Zaira sat down, frowning a bit at the message from Jeremy, chewing on her bread as she saw the new messages. Swallowing she handed it back to him, looking down as she was clearly feeling uncomfortable seeing them pop up. "Sorry, I know we had broken up," she muttered, trying to push the intrusive thoughts out of her head. Taking a sip of her juice she thought about it for a while. "We can go check up on him together?" she suggested, because in the back of her mind all she could imagine was the two guys starting another fight and going at it. "I've already finished my homework for Monday, so I'm not in a rush," she explained.

She gave him back the phone and he noticed how uncomfortable she looked. Her mutter made him shake his head. "Dont apologize. I'm the dickhead." he said, swiping a few times, seemingly just deleting the messages before opening them as he wasnt interested. Her suggestion made him hum. "Yeah, please come with me." he agreed. He hadnt done his homework but he rarely needed to. Or maybe he did but he definitely had had no motivation for it since the breakup. Once they were done eating, he took their plates and went to wash them off along with the utensils that they had used. "What do you want to do after we've gone and checked up on him?"

They finished up eating and she wasn't sure why, but the fact he had just deleted the messages without even reading them made her feel good. Of course she knew what they had, but there would always be that small voice in her head that told her he would get bored of her. They agreed to go check up on Damiano together and as he was washing off the cutlery she stood next to him, shrugging at his question as her mother came in. She wasn't on her phone anymore and headed directly to Kurtis, "mami, por favor," she pleaded. But Carla was in front of Kurtis rather quick, not quite tall, but a bit taller than Zaira at least. Her english was a little broken, but the gist made a lot of sense. "Emanuele is strong woman, sí, and she deserves world," Zaira took Kurtis' hand, letting him know it was alright, "Mami," she pleaded and Carla seemed to hold her tongue looking at her daughter. She might as well rip the band-aid off, tell her mother what was going on and the fact she was unsure about what she wanted to do.
Despite how wild Carla had appeared, she calmed down, looking at her daughter with serious eyes. "Us three, doctor tomorrow after school," she said, giving Kurtis a warning look before looking at her daughter. She spoke to her in Spanish, thanking her for her honesty and telling her how she worried for her, but Zaira dismissed it, saying that for now she just needed her mother to be her mother and it seemed as though Carla understood. She left after that, having to go take a cigarette to calm down her nerves as Zaira leaned her head against the lycan by her side. She felt like she had a headache. "She knows now and she dislikes you even more," she breathed out shaking her head a little. "You don't have to come to the doctors with me tomorrow, don't even worry about it, alright," she assured him, still thinking he wouldn't want anything to do with it.

He knew he still had a lot to make amends for, but as Carla went directly towards him, he did feel that rush of panic creep up on him. There was just something about parents and the threat of violence that set something off in him. So he might have been taller than her mother, but he definitely felt smaller than in that moment. Her words were harsh but he didnt quite understand the spanish bits. "I know. She does deserve the world." he agreed with her, though it took all in him to keep his back straight and face the wrath of an angry mother. He didnt know what Zaira told her mother before Carla demanded that they went to the doctor after school. He stood a bit in his own thoughts wondering if that would mean that somehow his father would know. That was a beating he definitely didnt want to endure. She left and Zaira's words made him nod. "Well, I deserve it, so I guess I cant be angry." he mumbled. Her assurance however made him frown as he looked at her. "Please dont say that. Like we didnt just do what we did upstairs before breakfast." he said, sparing the juicy details in case Carla was nearby, before he opened his hand where he had cut himself with the glass, looking at it. There was a small scar like the ones on his chest. "The Kurtis that doesnt give a shit and only care about himself. I dont wanna be him. He sucks. Zaira knew that Kurtis would probably never come to trust a grown up, parent or otherwise, and that was why she was a bit more defensive. It wasn't her mother's fault, but it also felt right to be by Kurtis' side in this. Carla was not violent, she had a temper, but she never abused her power as a parent. As her mother left and it was once more just the two of them she looked at his hand as he opened it. His words soothed her, and she looked up at him as he touched her cheek, leaning herself against his palm. "I just don't want you to feel obligated to come with us," she said, placing her hand over his, the gauze he had put on her hanging on for dear life. "But if you can be there ... Then I really want you there," she needed all the support she could get, and having Kurtis there might make her feel better. Even if her mother was angry now, she knew she would calm soon enough. Chuckling a bit she shook her head, "she still calls you niño, so that's a good sign," she said with a wide smile.

She asked, referring to the fact that they were going to see Damiano on behalf of Jeremy. It luckily wasn't too far of a walk to Damiano's family's restaurant, and it didn't seem too busy right now.

He felt like such a piece of shit. Standing in the bar he was just cleaning some glasses and refilling the napkin holders while he waited for customers to come in. She watched as the lycan tried remaining calm, showing off the message as the hybrid signaled for them to have a seat at the bar. So she sat down, her legs still spinning a little from their morning escapades, but she was alright for now. Just rather tired, so she let Kurtis speak mostly.

Damiano saw Kurtis and Zaira and he knew before he saw the message that Jeremy had sent them. He sighed at the order that the lycan made, but nodded, making them a lemonade while they sat down at the bar. "I'm not good for him," Damiano started out, pouring the drink and fetching two straws as well. Cleaning up his shaker he dried his hands before he looked at Zaira. There was something off about her, and he couldn't tell what exactly. Then he turned his eyes back on Kurtis, "he's a good guy and I keep hurting him because I am what I am," he said, clearly pained in his expression. Looking down he frowned. "I'm in love with him, but love isn't always enough to heal wounds ... And while he might forgive me, I'll never forgive myself."
